We need to deemphasize the importance of PMS to our economy.....all major industries run on diesel and gas,our critical transportation sector like trucks,trains,barges and boats run majorly on diesel and this has long been unsubsidized without so much hue and cry,but the average elite wants to keep driving their convoys,V8 trucks and SUVs and fleeting around for every unproductive reason such as going to parties and clubs and other mindless fuel guzzling purpose.

The poor might not have any reason to go into a petrol station to buy a single liter of fuel because he probably has no car or bike or even a generator and if he does it would be majorly for commercial reasons.....yes you would scream wouldn't the poor need to Move around and pay high cost of transportation,the poor uses per less petrol per capita than the rich and if the poor needs to transport himself he would be most meticulous in his transportation needs.

You cant wish away the high cost of production in Nigeria as a result of high energy. In the absence of adequate power supply, manufacturing will continue to suffer. Households will continue to suffer. SMEs will continue to suffer

Their corrupt dealings contributed in plugging Nigeria into economic and FX crises.
Buhari and his Northern gangs used that refinery to lauder fx💰 and short change Nigerians while refusing to repair/reactive any of the nation's 4 major refineries.
He simply put the collective economic future of the nation in the hands of his tribesman.

Nigerians must lunch massive campaign of accountability and responsible business price opération against the Dangoté empire and all her products, if this his unguarded criminal pricing systems must stop in all his goods.
Nigerians must come hard on him and force him to use fair and acceptable pricing standards.
One Dangoté or even two/three of him can not be bigger than all 200+Million Nigerians.

We must force the government to make Dangoté stop enjoying all of the benefits he does currently since he doesn't still favour the masses in his products prices.
We shouldn't let anybody gaslight us in the famous talk of "Dangoté is a good business man, don't expect cheap prices from him or he is in business here to make profits".
If he wants to be a dangerous capitalist them no special privileges must be given him by the Nigerian government and people.

Then Nigerians must also rise against NNPC and oil cabals to dismantle their wicked systems and also force the Tinubu government to stop fuel price manipulation against the people.

There are country within our level that sells fuel way cheaper, let them use those as yardsticks.

NNNP should sell all the refinery in its care to real investors if we can get any. NNPC shouldn't own more than 15% share in any refinery in the country

The chinese are still actively manipulating their exchange rates. The same Chinese who have some of the biggest subsidies you can ever imagine, are the ones we are going to compete with in the international markets. .Agric, power, transport, name them, all are being subsidised heavily in China . Do you think that it is pratically affordable for a struggling economy like Nigerias, to remove the fuel subsidy (knowing that both rail and air transport are nearly dead), then remove power subsidies, then allow market forces to determine the currency, and still have a conducive environment good enough to manufacture stuffs that will sell better than the Chinese?

Funny enough, some other southerners even justify the reckless extortion by fellow compatriots in their regions and not even see evil in it. Some goods produced in the south that are shipped down here to the north are more cheaper here in the north than the southern region where it was originally produced or manufactured despite paying for transportation cost to bring it down here, yet it's still cheaper. Clothes, building materials to electrical fittings are way more cheaper here. I don't know why it is so over there. Some even brag about buying a cloth or a shirt for #25,000 there of which #10 to #15,000 could get the same equivalent of same quality here.

Most of those justifying the removal of subsidy that has led to the improvershement of millions of Nigerians are southerners.

With the same period between 1998 - 2022, Nigeria's GDP grew from $218bn to $420bn with a pegged / fixed exchange rate system that we had to defend with our fx reserves while Indonesia moved from $95bn to $1.3trn. Fx reserves are meant to facilitate economic trade, Nigeria chose to use over $200bn of its reserve to defend a pegged currency.

1. Did the weak Rupiah prevent the Indonesian economy from growing from a gdp of $95bn to $1.3trn ?

2. Did the weak rupiah prevent consistent Gdp growth YOY?

3. Has Indonesia not done well with its weak currency?

4. Can Indonesia make $250bn from exports without a weak currency?

You compare the Indonesia economy that that is export driven by crude oil, sugar, tea, palm oil and manufacturing to a Nigerian economy that is bugged down by corruption in all sector.
