adioolayi: Can we all agree that no law makes electronic transmission of results MANDATORY for INEC as of now
Can we all agree, INEC has the freewill to decide mode of collation of results as of now What's freewill. You're either using the electronic means or not. This must be stated clearly to avoid any form of ambiguity. We're are either using the electronic means of transmission of result or not. No in between |

INEC is incompetent and not independent . The technology used in electronic voting isn't much different from what you have in your ATM.
If you can trust that the ATM will deliver your hard earned money when you request for it, why the excuse when it comes to e-voting. |

NzogbuNzogbu: what do you mean hamas is sunni inspired, its iran shia that is arming hamas, hezbolla, houtis
They are all terrorist organization that doesnt affect saudi power, saudi own is to keep them far from them like in yemen
if they can keep their population in check without these terrorist then its ok, thats why they are for the fight against iran
So long as saudi control the mosques power is theirs in the muslim world You can't rule out the socio religious links of these ME militant groups. The founder of hamas was a member of the Muslim brotherhood, a Sunni affiliated group. Though hamas gets its funds majorly from Iran, it operates independently from Iran unlike Hezbollah. They opposed Iran's stance with Al Assad in Syria during the height of Arab Spring. The Saudi are not enemies or backers of hamas but it's in their own interest that Sunni affiliated groups remain under their control. The Saudi Iran relationship is like the India China relationship. They all want to keep their allies in the region. The Saudi know the Americans are there for economic reasons and peace with Israel in the ME. For now, Iran is the common enemy but the Saudi have learnt not to put their eggs in one basket when dealing with Washington |

NzogbuNzogbu: saudi and iran can never be on same page forget theatrics.
they are both rivals for the political, religious power in ME.
saudi would always go with usa esp as israel continues to control things there Reason why the Israelis cannot have the hammer over Gaza. Remember, the Hamas are Sunni inspired and Hezbollah, Shia inspired. Both are teaming up in this effort against Israel. If the Saudis take sides with Israel and the two militant groups team up against Israel alongside the Arab League, the Islamic world will view the kingdom as enemy of Islam. That puts them in a difficult position and who says the kingdom can not witness an internal uprising. The pictures will be messy for Washington. |

NzogbuNzogbu: israel would still continue the afront at hamas, their tanks are still lining up at the boarder.
Biden is coming tomorro, the hostage release, the humanitarian aid corridor for the displaced, extra time for remnant leaving north this is why they wait, they dont bluff.
Saudi deal would still continue, israel is trying to bring new leadership in the middle east via new deal on al aqsa governorship The Saudis have put the deal on ice but the Americans are seriously in talks with them. The Israelis going on with the ground invasion will seriously jeopardize all these efforts. Hamas will start the release of hostages soon as biden visits or leaves ME. Guess who gains from a protracted ME war, the Iranian, Russia, China and the Oil giants. It'll will take Israel months if not years to rid Gaza of hamas. This will be too costly for Washington in terms of time, especially as electioneering years approaches and Ukraine is still a debacle The Saudi prince put a call through to Tehran. This has not happened in a long time. |

Svoboda: Its nothing new and it wont change any dynamics. The Arabs are no cowards. Every resistance fighter in the ranks of hamas has in one way or the other fallen victim to the jewish zionists brutality.
Hamas will outlive this present war. I also have a feeling this jewish brutality will not exceed this week. Israel is quickly getting isolated. The gulf arab states with ties with israel are drawing backwards. Its Normalizati on of ties with saudi arabia is now in the cooler.
China and russia are subtly tilting towards the palestinians. Israel are the biggest losers in this war. That's exactly what the attack was designed to achieve. The attack was politically motivated. Some Arab nations, especially Iran were not at ease with improved relations between America, israel and Saudi Arabia, especially. An economic front was going to open towards achieving this. Hamas had to be brought in to scuttle all of this. If only we focus on the deep politics going on behind the scene. Israel was caught unaware. Hamas and the instigators got what they wanted. If these cooperation had worked out, some elements in the ME would have lost out totally. A war against Israel is what unites the Arabs in the ME. Israel is infuriated and ready to go all out for hamas by invading Gaza, but this will only escalate the crises more. The Arabs will not fold its hands and watch Israel level Gaza. If you ask me, Israel will have no choice but to suspend this operation but not without doing extreme damage to Gaza. It's all politics |

Now they are condemning him because the vices he championed has finally killed one of their own..
How about youths that died as a result of drugs all in the name of being Malians?
Olumide once sang a song "Science Student" promoting drugs and use of substance among youths... Can't you guys make valid points without tribalism. I understand that some clients place their needs beyond ones comprehension but it's okay. We try has much as possible to relate. COMPAQ: It depends on where the generation plant is sited. Rather than have 3000MW in one location in Lagos though, for me it'd make sense to have like 6 of 500MW each in different pasts of the state, such as
Ibeju/Lekki -Epe axis to serve Lekki corridor up to Oniru Eko Atlantic to serve Eko Atlantic and VI Lagos Island to serve Lagos Island and complement VI, Ikoyi etc Trade fair complex to serve Festac, Amuwo Odofin, Satellite, Agbara etc Ikorodu to serve that axis and Ikeja, Ojodu, Ketu, etc Egbeda to serve the rest of Lagos mainland
The distance from these power plants to the main sub stations serving those areas would be minimal and LASG could take over the TCN transmission infrastructure in the state and link to it.
Any excess can be sent into the grid at an agreed amount to make up any shortfalls in the SW for eg
However, all of this investment means that rates would have to go up to fund the investment and provide positive cash flow for investors. Gbam. You have said. Even within the states itself. Power transmission should not be concentrated in one strategic location. I love what Edo state is doing with ossiomo and azura power station. If Edo can mobilize some financial muscle, it's already on the right track, way ahead of the states mentioned above. This is one area governor obaseki has gotten my pass mark if I'm to grade his administration. Unfortunately, the rest of the state don't value this strategic economic initiative. What they want is bridges and flyovers |
Politics › Re: Only Five States Can Build Over 100 Km Of Electricity Transmission Lines - EMRC by persius555(m): 12:08pm On Aug 09, 2023 |
It's the usual excuse to keep the TCN monopoly in place. Let those who can build go ahead and build as much capacity. Those who can't can partner with the TCN until they are able to embark on such.
This will even help TCN to concentrate on smaller state entity while the bigger ones can build their own electrical transmission system.
TCN itself is a burden to Nigeria. Why is it shouldering a burden that is overwhelming. FG is simply afraid that by breaking the monopoly hold on a critical infrastructure like electricity transmission, some states will wield enormous economic power and it'll lose share to these states.
If we're serious about economic growth, this is the way to go. |
