IslamBeautify Your Jumah Salaah by personal59(op): 5:29am On Oct 09, 2015
“O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the prayer on the day of Jumu’ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew.” (Surah Al-Jumu’ah, 62:9)

The importance of Friday Prayer is well known to the Muslim ummah. There are explicit verses in the Qur’an and Sunah that highlight this and also gives us guidelines on how to make the best out of this Salaah. In my humble attempt, I have tried to list out the benefits of the Jumu’ah Salaah and the ways we could resort to in order to reap them, in shaa’ Allah.

Friday is called Al-Jumu`ah because it is derived from Al-Jam`, literally meaning “gathering”. 1

The Prophet said: “Friday is the master of days, and the greatest of them before Allah. It is greater before Allah than the day of al-Adha and the day of al-Fitr. It has five characteristics: on this day Allah created Adam, on it He sent Adam down to the earth, on it Allah caused Adam to die, on it there is a time when a person does not ask Allah for anything but He gives it to him, so long as he does not ask for anything haraam, and on it the Hour will begin. There is no angel who is close to Allah, no heaven, no earth, no wind, no mountain and no sea that does not fear Friday.” 2

Ibn al-Qayyim (rahimullah) said:

“Jumu‘ah prayer is singled out from among all the other obligatory prayers for having particular characteristics that are not found in other prayers including the fact that it is offered in congregation, has a minimum number of worshipers required in order for it to be valid, the iqaamah is a condition of it being valid, one must not be traveling in order for it to be obligatory, and the recitation is done out loud.” [3.  Zaad al-Ma‘aad, 1/384-385]

Jumu‘ah prayer is singled out from among all the other obligatory prayers for having particular characteristics that are not found in other prayers“

VIRTUES OF THE FRIDAY PRAYER

Abu Hurayrah  narrated that the Messenger of Allah  said: “The five daily prayers, and from one Jumu’ah to the next are an expiation for whatever sins come in between, so long as one does not commit any major sin.” 3

It was narrated by Al-Ja’d ad-Damri  that the Prophet  said, “He who leaves the Friday prayer (continuously) for three Friday on account of slackness, Allah will print a stamp on his heart.” 4

It was narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-‘As  that the Prophet said, “Three types of people attend Friday prayer; One is present in a frivolous way and that is all he gets from it; another comes with a supplication, Allah may grant or refuse his request as He wishes; another is present silently and quietly with-out stepping over a Muslim or annoying anyone, and that is an atonement for his sins till the next Friday and three days more, the reason being that Allah, the Exalted, says: “He who does a good deed will have ten times as much.” 5

SUNNAH OF FRIDAY PRAYER

Before the Friday prayer:

Close your business before Salaah:

“[Are] men whom neither commerce nor sale distracts from the remembrance of Allah and performance of prayer and giving of zakah. …That Allah may reward them [according to] the best of what they did and increase them from His bounty. ….” (Surah An-Nur, 24:37-38)

Allah  praises those individuals who close their business fearing Allah  and rush towards Salaah. They seek and hope for His bounties and fear His punishment!

Performing Ghusl:

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah  that the Prophet said, “Whoever does ghusl then comes to Jumu’ah, and prays as much as Allah decrees for him, then listens attentively until the khutbah is over, then prays with him (the imam), will be forgiven for (his sins) between that and the next Jumu’ah and three more days.” 6

Al-Nawawi said: “The scholars said that what is meant by his being forgiven between the two Jumu’ahs and three more days is that a good deed is worth ten like it, so he will be rewarded with ten hasanahs for each of the good deeds that he did on Friday.” 7

Reaching Early for Jum’ah Prayer:

The Messenger of Allahsaid, “Whoever does ghusl on Friday like ghusl for janaabah, then goes to the prayer (in the first hour, i.e., early), it is as if he sacrificed a camel. Whoever goes in the second hour, it is as if he sacrificed a cow; whoever goes in the third hour, it is as if he sacrificed a horned ram; whoever goes in the fourth hour, it is as if he sacrificed a hen; and whoever goes in the fifth hour it is as if he offered an egg. When the imam comes out, the angels come to listen to the khutbah.” 8

Walking to Jumu’ah Prayer:

The Messenger of Allah said, “Whoever does ghusl on Friday ….., and sets out early, ….for every step he takes, he will have the reward of fasting and praying qiyaam for one year.” 9

Wearing fresh/new clothes for Jumu’ah:

It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin Salam  that he heard the Messenger of Allah saying on the pulpit one Friday, “There is nothing wrong with anyone of you buying two garments for Friday (prayer), other than his daily work clothes.” 10

Friday is the Eid day for Muslims. Therefore, they should dress themselves with the finest clothes when going for the Friday Prayer.

6.  Applying hair oil and Perfume and the use of Siwaak:

The Messenger of Allahstressed on the application of hair oil, use of siwaak 11 and perfume (for men only) on Friday. The main idea behind this recommendation is that the person feels fresh and others can also benefit from the good smell.

It was narrated by Salman-Al-Farsi  that the Prophetsaid, “Whoever takes a bath on Friday, purifies himself as much as he can, then uses his (hair) oil or perfumes himself with the scent of his house, then proceeds (for the Jumua prayer) …… his sins in between the present and the last Friday would be forgiven.” 12

Whilst Attending The Prayer:

Splitting 2 people sitting together:

It was narrated by Salman-Al-Farsi that the Prophet said, “……. then proceeds (for the Jumua prayer) and does not separate two persons sitting together (in the mosque) …… his sins in-between the present and the last Friday would be forgiven.” 13

Making place for others:

Jabir reported Allah’s Apostle as saying, “None amongst you should make his brother stand on Friday (during the congregational prayer) and then occupy his-place. but he should only say to him (Accommodate me).” 14

Stepping over others Shoulder:

It was narrated from Abu Az-Zahiriyah about ‘Abdullah bin Busr, he said: “I was sitting beside him on Friday and he said: ‘A man came, stepping over people’s necks, and the Messenger of Allah  said: ‘Sit down, you are disturbing people.” 15

Speaking during the Khutbah:

It was narrated from Abu Hurairahthat the Messenger of Allahsaid: “If you say to your companion: ‘Be quiet and listen’ when the imam is delivering the Khutbah, you have engaged in idle speech.” 16

Sitting close to the Imaam:

It was narrated by Samurah ibn Jundub that the Prophetsaid, “Attend the sermon (on Friday) and sit near the imam, for a man keeps himself away until he will be left behind at the time of entering Paradise though he enters it.” 17

Ihtiba’:

Mu’adh bin Anas Al-Juhani said that, “The Prophet  forbade (us) from sitting with our legs drawn up to our belly (Ihtiba’) during the Friday Khutbah (religious talk before the prayer).” 18

The original Arabic word is hubtaah or ihtibaa. The Prophethas prohibited sitting in this manner since a man may easily become drowsy and his ablution may also break in this position. There are various opinions regarding this issue. 19

Feeling drowsy during the Khutbah:

Ibn Umarnarrated that the Prophetsaid, “When one of you becomes sleepy during the Friday prayer, then let him move from where he is sitting.” 20

After the Friday prayer:

Praying 4 Rak’ah Sunnah:

Abu Hurairahreported that the Messenger of Allahsaid, “If anyone of you performs the Friday prayer, he should perform four Rak’ah (Sunnah) after it.” 21]

Changing Place after Jumu’ah Prayers:

Al- Sa’ib informed ‘Umar bin Ata about what he had seen in the prayer of Mu’awiya that, “Yes, I observed the Jumu’a prayer along with him in Maqsura and when the Imam pronounced salutation, I stood up at my place and observed (Sunan rak’ahs). As he entered (the apartment), he sent for me and said: Do not repeat what you have done. Whenever you have observed the Jumu’a prayer, do not observe (Sunan prayer) till you have talked or got out, for the Messenger of Allah had ordered us to do this and not to combine two (types of) prayers without talking or going out.” 22

3. Buying and Selling After The Friday Prayer:

“And when the Prayer is finished, then you may disperse through the land, and seek of the Bounty of Allah. And remember Allah much that you may prosper or be successful.” (Surah Al-Jumu’ah, 62:10)

Jumu’ah is a gift from Allah  to us just like the 2 Eids. Allahhas given us the opportunity every week to bask under the shade of His blessings. We would truly succeed in this if we follow it with pure and sincere intentions. The punishment for skipping prayers is severe as Allahdescribes in the verse:

‘But there came after them successors who neglected prayer and pursued desires; so they are going to meet Destruction and Hell..” (Surah Maryam, 19: 59)

May Allah protect us from falling into this category and guide us onto the straight path!

IslamRe: Stoning At Jamarat Is Not Stoning Shaytaan by personal59:

Let me get this straight - millions and probably a billion Muslims travel from all over the world every year to one stone that is in Meccah (in the process they enrich the Saudi Monarch) to kiss a particular stone and you call that what? Kissing an object that everybody kisses is a sign of respect, reverence and worship. The idea is that you have given an object more respect than anything else. Only Allah should have our respect or worship.

If there was a certain tree in your village that all Nigerians visited every year and paid hundred of thousands of naira to touch it and kiss it and pray to it - you will call that adoration? Only Almighty God demands our adoration, no one else. The problem here is that Muslims like you will not think objectively. Thousands of Muslims die so often at this event especially at the stoning of satan that it has become a night-mare. satan is a jinn; he is not a physical being so I find it hard to understand why supposedly intelligent muslims think they are stoning satan. I am sure he has the best laugh every year because it is muslims that die in the hundreds and thousands when they go to stone him because he is never there.

Also, Allah never instructed this - never! This pagan ritual was incorporated into Islam and it hurts me because only Allah should be worship and no one else. Allah never told mohammed or anyone else to kiss the Kabbah or adore it; he expressly and explicitly forbid it. May God Almighty guide the ignorant
Its not writing anywhere that if u don't touch or kiss it it invalidate ur hajj anyhow sha Ur opinion and understanding is urs and only urs and likewise mine and I don't force it on u just saying mine base on what I know and trying to let u see it from different perspective and so far u are bent on urs I don't think u should av mk it look like u want to rub mind at first so brother thanks for ur time am not quoting u to open ground for argument bt for us to learn bt think I got it all wrong may Allah be with us all and increase our knowledge and understanding in his deen thanks once again brother as salam alaykum waramotulah wabarakatu

Pls where do u see ur own quran nd its meaning

I read the same Quran you read

That is true and I am not doubting that. What I am saying is that Allah give instructions to Ibrahim first and then to all Muslims including the prophet not to worship any idol or stone. Here is the full context from Surah 21:55-66:

[b]And certainly We gave to Ibrahim his rectitude before, and We knew him fully well. When he said to his father and his people: What are these images to whose worship you cleave? They said: We found our fathers worshiping them. He said: Certainly you have been, (both) you and your fathers, in manifest error. They said: Have you brought to us the truth, or are you one of the triflers? He said: Nay! your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, Who brought them into existence, and I am of those who bear witness to this: And, by Allah! I will certainly do something against your idols after you go away, turning back. So he broke them into pieces, except the chief of them, that haply they may return to it. They said: Who has done this to our gods? Most surely he is one of the unjust. They said: We heard a youth called Ibrahim speak of them. Said they: Then bring him before the eyes of the people, perhaps they may bear witness. They said: Have you done this to our gods, O Ibrahim? He said: Surely (some doer) has done it; the chief of them is this, therefore ask them, if they can speak. Then they turned to themselves and said: Surely you yourselves are the unjust; Then they were made to hang down their heads: Certainly you know that they do not speak. He said: What! do you then serve besides Allah what brings you not any benefit at all, nor does it harm you? Fie on you and on what you serve besides Allah; what! do you not then understand? They said: Burn him and help your gods, if you are going to do (anything). S. 21:51-66 Shakir[/b]

The verse 66 clearly states; "Do you then worship beside GOD what possesses no power to benefit you or harm you?" S. 21:66 Khalifa

Allah has told us never to worship - "ANYTHING", no matter what it is except Him. He is the Almighty and no stone can represent Him. This is what I am trying to explain to you guys. So, except you are saying this is not the word of Allah or you are saying it's not true. Is that what you are saying?

Surah 5:90 has instructed Muslims that any kind of worship to anything else other than Allah is the work of satan. Is Allah in the stone in Meccah? Where in the Koran did Allah tell us as Muslims to kiss or worship any object apart from Himself?

You are ignoring the Quran and the implication it has. Look at what Al-Bukhari said:

Narrated Salim that his father said:

I saw Allah’s Apostle arriving at Mecca; he kissed the Black Stone Corner first while doing Tawaf and did ramal in the first three rounds of the seven rounds (of Tawaf). (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 26, Number 673)

Here is another one:

Narrated ‘Abis bin Rabia:

‘Umar came near the Black Stone and kissed it and said, "No doubt, I know that you are a stone AND CAN NEITHER BENEFIT ANYONE NOR HARM ANYONE. Had I not seen Allah’s Apostle kissing you I would not have kissed you." (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 26, Number 667)

Here is Umar saying the samething - I know it's wrong to kiss and worship stone but because the prophet did it; I am doing it as well.

Narrated Zaid bin Aslam from his father who said:

"Umar bin Al-Khattab addressed the Corner (Black Stone) saying, ‘By Allah! I know that you are a stone AND CAN NEITHER BENEFIT NOR HARM. Had I not seen the Prophet touching (and kissing) you, I would never have touched (and kissed) you.’ Then he kissed it and said, ‘There is no reason for us to do Ramal (in Tawaf) except that we wanted to show off before the pagans, and now Allah has destroyed them.’ ‘Umar added, ‘(Nevertheless), the Prophet did that and we do not want to leave it (i.e. Ramal).’" (Sahih al-Bukhari, Volume 2, Book 26, Number 675)

Here it is again.

So my friend; perhaps you are the one that doesn't know how to read your Quran and the Hadith. Idolatry in Islam is a sin against Allah.
Mr u are mixing the point here he kissed d stone doesn't mean he worship it get that right if u adore something it doesn't mean u worship d stuff now haba unless u have something else u want to prove o bt with this nah u get it wrong the prophet never worship it
IslamRe: Stoning At Jamarat Is Not Stoning Shaytaan by personal59: 7:47am On Oct 05, 2015

My conclusion? So, what is written in the Quran is now my conclusion abi? Have I stated or written anything that is incorrect?

I don't seem knowledgeable to pass judgments? What is wrong with you? I am stating what the Quran said and the authentic narrative from Al-Bukhari on the events discussed; can't you review what I have said and let Allah guide you to draw the right conclusion? Why are you being biased even before you looked at the evidence?

I am a human being, I believe in Almighty God and His prophets - you go figure whether I am a muslim or not
Pls where do u see ur own quran nd its meaning

Qr 21 vs 66 suratul al-anbiya says: he said, "then do you worship instead of Allah that which does not benefit you at all or harm you?

Nd it is explaining what happen between Ibrahim and his family.

Qr 5 vs 90 suratul Al-Ma'idah says: o you who have believed, indeed, intoxicants, gambling, (sacrificing on) stone alters (to other than Allah) and defining arrows are but defilement from the work of satan, so avoid it that you may be successful.

So what's d correlation with the hadith u quote which is not even completed my dear if u want to know more abt islam move closer to d knowledgeable ones and not under d tree discussion sorry if I sound harsh but that's d truth.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor-designate of Fountain University, Osogbo, Prof. Abdul Hakeem Mobolaji, his 14 year old son, Muhammad and four others died in a car crash along the Lagos Ibadan expressway on Sunday September 20th.

According to The Nation, the professor of Econometrics was traveling with his two sons, the late Muhammad and Abdul-Hafiz as well as one of his friend, Mr Abdul-Rasheed Attah, a lawyer, when a commercial bus rammed into his SUV after overtaking another vehicle on the narrow road.
The road had been partitioned by the contractor working on it. Professor Mobolaji and his son died on the spot. His friend Attah and the late Mobolaji’s second son, AbdulHafiz were injured. Attah immediately called a relative and gave his phone to a woman to inform the person of the accident. Shortly after, he and Abdul Hafiz went into a coma. Four people including the driver of the passenger bus died in the accident.

Speaking on the sad incident, the deceased professor's son, Abdul Azeez said "Who will take care of us now that he is late? I was expecting to link up with him at Fountain University today (Monday). I was calling his phone on Sunday when I didn’t hear from him whether he has reached Ibadan where he was expected to pick other family members but he wasn’t picking his calls. I called him severally up to 30 times but no one was picking the call. I called the MD of Al Barakah Microfinance Bank to tell him that I have been calling my father but he was not picking his call that he should help me call him but later he came back with some people to announce his death that Allah has taken him back. I pray to Almighty Allah to grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss because he was the bread winner of the family and no one else.”.

The late professor and his 14 year old son were on Monday buried in Akinyele Local Government Area, Oyo State.

he placed two pen on a table South-south to each other with a little distance, he placed his ID card in between them, he said "this ID card is u, the first pen is Allah's side, the second pen is shaytan's side", he draw the ID card closer to first pen and said "you can see the closer of the ID card to the first one influence the distance of the ID card to the second pen", then he said "the closer you are to shaytan, the far you are to Allah, and the closer you are to Allah, the far you are to shaytan". Oh Allah, we know he is not complete, overlook your servant's error and admit him to your mercy.

Abu Faatimah, Abdullateef ibn Sasiq wrote... And that is the end of a precious gem. We invited him for our valedictory symposium of the Final Year Muslims' Forum of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. He arrived towards the period of magrib at Abeokuta, and was lodged at the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority guest house close to FUNAAB. What baffled me the most was the fact that he voluntarily released his jeep for us that evening to run some little errands for the program till the following morning. Which professor can do that in Nigeria? When he came to the hall ANENIH 01, he appeared as simple as possible, and delivered the lecture that made me see him as a role model. I have not come across an academic of such high position who still maintains his religion. He didn't do isbal, his beards were there, and from his speech one would see the sunnah in him. He told us not to compromise our faiths, never, no matter the pressure. Do not shave your beards or drag your trousers below your ankle, or reduce your hijaab length because of trying to please some people. "I worked at the world bank without shaving my beards, the national assembly, and even lectured abroad without compromising my faith" he said. This looked different, as many would tell you that you can't get there without compromising. He said that the closer you get to Allaah, the farther you are from shaytaan, and vice versa. He also said with regards to job seeking, that if you closed your eyes from haraam, Allaah will open your eyes to halaal, so be patient, and don't compromise your faith. He also quoted the hadeeth where the prophet dined with his companions at another's house, and said that we shall account for even this food that Allaah has provided for us, and by implication, we shall all account for our income, how we got them, how we use them, on what we use them... He jokingly told us that he had two wives and twelve children. An economist! How many can do that? Instead they criticize against it. He is just a rare gem. These are words that I only hear from scholars, or lecturers who are not in lofty positions like Prof's own. This caught me in the heart, and made me see him as a model. But little did we know that he had less than 24 hours on the surface of the earth... Little did we know that he was unknowingly preparing to transit to the next world. May Allaah forgive him and shower his Mercy on him, accept his strivings as acts of 'ibaadah, and count him amongst the martyrs. We can't say he is, we can only pray to Allaah to make him one.

RomanceHaving More Than 20 Partners Reduces Prostate Cancer Risk by personal59(op): 8:40pm On Sep 03, 2015
Men with numerous lovers have a lower risk of developing prostate cancer-becau

Lotharios who have had more than 20 partners have a 28 per cent reduced risk compared with men who have had only one sexual partner in their lifetime, they claim.

But it is the amount of sex they have rather than the number of partners that cuts the cancer risk.

Lead researcher Prof. Marie-Elise Parent, from the University of Montreal, said: ‘It is possible that having many female sexual partners results in a higher frequency of ejaculations, whose protective effect against prostate cancer has been previously observed in cohort studies.’

Men who are virgins are almost twice as likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer as those who are sexually experienced, it was claimed.

One theory is that large numbers of ejaculation may reduce the concentration of cancer-causing substances in prostatic fluid, a constituent of semen.

But the same is not true for gay men-Where having more than 20 male partners doubles the risk of prostate cancer.

The danger of a less aggressive cancer type also rises five-fold, possibly to do with greater exposure to sexually transmitted infections or the forum of gay sex.

More than 3,200 men aged between 40 and 79 answered questions about their lifestyle and sex lives in the prostate cancer and environment study.

Prof. Parent added: ‘We were fortunate to have participants who were comfortable talking about their sexuality.’

First of all,Akpabio was said to be on his way to d airport presumably on his way abroad when he got involved in d accident and it is possible he continued on his journey after being stabilised.
2ndly,no hospital in d world has d peak expertise in all d fields, and so it is in Nigeria too.I know d highest hospital in Nigeria,in terms of eye care is somewhere in Kaduna state and so also is d cancer radiation center too.
So brother u mean No Nigerian doctor can treat an accident? Do u know d no of nigeria dr abroad? U can google it with the time they start practising over there
