Advice me!

I am male, about 47yrs old. With Bacherlor and then Masters degree earned 4yrs ago. With work experience in Mechanical Maintenance Technician spanning about 15yrs. Am on Self sponsor, though will get a company letter and 1yr leave of absence with Basic pay on term of my coming back to Naija after the course or it be deducted from my terminal benefit. its a 1yr program.

Now I've gotten the admission into the Canadian College to Read "Turbine Technician Course" This is the only route to earn the Certification for this Turbine Technician.

Hope am clear?

Now Question: At my age and with the masters degree, will it pose question/challenge, like: why am i going back to college again? Do I have reason to be worried because am too old?
Another third party certification that this institution certificate is the prerequisite is the main purpose of my seeking this training or course, but the name of the final third party certification is not showing in the admission letter, but simply only as : Turbine Technician Certificate program. Its with O'Levels as criteria for admission.

How do people overcome denial due to matured age like mine that's not going for PHD or say; with a possession of higher degrees like this

How do I prepare and present my application/documents, please?

Although I don't know much about the Australian easy PR route like Canada express entry, I think it Favors longer years of experience compare to Canada express entry. Explore it with the option of study in Australia too.

People with complicated profile should check study and immigration to Australia. The country is similar to Canada in opportunities and have easier study visa processing. Although I read there is little racism in some of Australia country side, but little avoidable racism is better than hunger ooo.

But my interest is for Canada only since I am not too disposed to do Amaria (only easy option) in States.

yes my people, am already on track as per the EE. This same age thing drastically reduced my CRS, but I'll get there, via PNP nomination. Am waiting & believing God on it.

However, by this study channel, am trying to open another option via studies!

How do you see it.

This education route sometime works faster for younger ones that have no family ties in Canada.

Any more advice on how to get Canadian Courses and trainings?

My company might (might) help me with the support papers, if I can get the training/course that's long enough. But the cost of training in engineering related field in Canada is prohibitive and one is expected to pay fully before visa unlike normal schooling when you can pay a fraction as deposit before embassy

It will really be difficult. The purpose of visit is very sketchy. A very sharp VO will see this as just an opportunity to travel. Are you currently employed? If you are, then you need a very strong introduction letter from your employer to say that whatever you are going for is for the benefit of the company. Its a dicey one. At this stage, they expect you to go for professional trainings, seminars and conferences.
You might look at Express Entry since you have lots of experience. You can also look for a short course related to what you are doing. Mind you, anything less that a year(8 months) or a year will fetch you just a year work permit. You have to find a skilled job immediately you finish. Also while here, you can apply for express entry. You can give it a short.
I hope you have strong home ties, apart from your job.

Please all seniors in the house. I have a question for all you great Naijas.

Will Canada Embassy give or approve Student Admission Visa for a one-year (or less) Diploma or Certificate or Advanced Diploma certificate in Mechanical related course when I am already 47 years old, with a first Mechanical Degree (1996), Masters in Mech (2002) and lot of work experience years?

I repeat; Will the embassy grant me visa for a 1yr Diploma/certificate program when am so getting old and have done a higher masters in same related engineering for so long?

The truth is; I don't want to go there and do PHD or even masters, but I want to travel and have a reason to legally stay put for PR status like most of us younger ones are working towards.

Thks all for the thread! I won headphone on Kwara list #20. Still waiting for their call/sms. My son is interested in picking it, not me. They're rip-offs. Just that can't yet stop drinking their star, but soonext; I will! First they tricked us with their hoax/scam into sending much more entry, then they ended the promo abruptly at 8pm instead of usual 12midnight when the day is known to end proper. Why? Am aggrieved because I still had 306 unsent corks when they stopped receiving entries that night. I planned to send them all b4 12midnight. Too bad, our people in mgmt positions are always frauds!
