Politics › Re: To Restructure Nigeria, 24 States, 73 Senators, 240 Reps Must Vote For It by phantom24: 12:33am On Nov 10, 2020 |
gidgiddy: For those who believe that Nigeria should be restructured, better be aware of what it entails. In other to restructure Nigeria, the constitution must be changed, and a new constitution that recognises a restructured Nigeria, adopted.
However, before that constitution can be officially adopted, and restructuring effected, the following must happen:
1) At least two thirds of the state assembly of the 36 states must vote to adopt it(24 States)
2) At least two thirds of the 109 Senators must vote to adopt the new constitution(73 Senators)
3) At least two thirds of the 360 member House of Reps(240 Reps)
If any of these three steps fails, its game over
With the 13 states in the core North against restructuring and controling 40% of the legislature, anyone who is hoping that Nigeria will be restructured is wasting their time. have you ever heard the word Refferendum? Nigeria's major problem is corrupt & biased leaders so we shld never wait for them. |

El Rufai gave a wonderful restructuring idea with his fellow Governors in 2018 but what many still fail to understand is that only the National Assembly can restructure our constitution
No President can do it, no Governor has powers to do it
. My brother you're that national assembly. those occults that we all voted into the So called national assembly are suppose to speak 4 us but instead they're doing otherwise so we go for a Refferendum. |

Total rubbish and senseless info from an unreliable source. What do you mean by '' 48 persons out of every 1000 are likely to have HIV?'' that's a probability or guess work. If the so called NACA was a reliable source, the statement should be '' 48 out of 1000 persons have been confirmed to have HIV in Akwa ibom. if we want to consider indiscrimate lifestyle that promotes d spread of HIV& AIDS, akwa ibom state will nt be among the first ten states in Nigeria. festacman: Conscience is an open wound, until truth can heal it.
I am beginning to believe that the use of soldiers instead of riot policemen to disperse protesters who were disobeying lawful curfew at Lekki Tollgate may be wrong but the impression that masaccre and genocide happened was a big lie. There is no way trained soldiers would have shot directly at scampering protesters without the Lekki Tollgate being littered with corpses. Yes, the soldiers used maximum force but they obviously shot to scare and disperse and not to masaccre as emotional social media hype conveyed.
Truth will set you free and it doesn't matter if you are rightly an angry youth. I haven't seen any evidence that somebody died at the Tollgate the night of 20.10.20 to warrant the hype of massacre or genocide.
29.10.20 was neither a massacre nor a genocide but an unnecessary use of military rather than riot police to disperse resolute protesters. an intelligent&foolish statement! |
