PoliticsIgbo Myopic Thinking Has Denied Us Senate Presidency----gov. Rochas Okorocha by phaulzoe(op): 5:45am On Apr 07, 2015
The Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha on Thursday blamed Igbo leaders of what he called “unholy acts” which has now denied the region the chance to produce either a Senate president or the Speaker of the House of Representatives in June.

The All Progressives Congress lost all senatorial and House of Representatives elections held in the region.

Ngigie, Okorocha, Buhari and Yemi Osinbajo
All 15 senatorial districts in the five states, Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo were picked by the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party.

However, with the victory by Muhummadu Buhari from the North and his South West deputy, Yemi Osinbajo, the Senate president position would have normally gone to the South East but for the outcome of the elections.

After Thursday’s Owerri rally organised by the South East APC to celebrate Buhari’s victory, the Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha, said that the region should have elected a ranking senator or member of the House of the Representatives on the platform of the party to occupy either of the positions if PDP leaders from the zone had not engineered the rigging of the National Assembly election held the same day with that of the presidency.

He said that the former governor, Chris Ngige, or the former senator, Osita Izunaso, both of whom contested the election, would have been elected Senate president if they were not rigged out at the election.

He said, “The South East is entitled to either the Senate President or the Speaker of the Federal House. But as I speak to you now because of the unholy act of last Saturday they (Igbo leaders) have not been able to give us any ranking member of the Senate or ranking member of the Federal House.
“You cannot be a Senate President, you cannot be a Speaker unless you are somebody who has been there before. It is our plan that Osita Izunaso should go to the Senate, Ngige should go to Senate.
“Gentlemen, the truth is that one of them should have been Senate President of Nigeria. But our people, in their myopic thinking, in the smallness of their brain could not see the light and today this act of theirs has denied Ndigbo the Senate President, this act has denied Ndigbo the Speaker of the Federal House. I weep, I weep that this kind of thing can be allowed to happen here.”

Okorocha said that politics in the North is quite different from the kind of politics being exhibited by South East leaders.

“This kind of thing could not happen in Kano, it could not happen in Sokoto,” he said.
“But here in Igbo land they use soldiers to kill their people. It is our political leaders who sponsored this unholy act and we shall hold them responsible for every blood dropped during this election.
“We know them and they know we know them. They can be having their children abroad and be killing the poor people here. We will resist it and we will say no. “

The governor accused Igbo leaders of manipulating results and trying to give 1.3 million votes to Jonathan in Imo state “but for our resistance they could not do it”.

He stressed, “It is not true that anyone defeated Buhari in Imo State. He won this election in this state. The nonsense is over. We have the details of all that happened in INEC headquarters. It will be embarrassing if we show all that happened to the world.”

Ngige explained how he was rigged out of the polls in which he lost to a serving member of the House of Representatives, Uche Ekwunife of the PDP.

He said that one of his agents was kidnapped and the collation order was also kidnapped.

According to the former governor, “The only thing I want to assure you people is that you have lost nothing. General Buhari has won the election. APC will form the next national government. We are going to recover all these seats, all the allocation they gave to us. ,they allocated to me 20 votes from Anambra central and Buhari 17, 960 votes for the all of Anambra, Tell me how is it possible??
The APC has loss all the Senatorial seat in the South-East and accussed PDP of rigging the election in the region.
PoliticsYou Need To Read What Obasanjo Want Nigerian To Do On April 11 by phaulzoe(op): 5:25am On Apr 07, 2015
Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has urged Nigerians to repeat last Saturday’s feat at the poll during this weekend’s governorship and State Assembly elections.

Speaking on his return to his home town in Abeokuta, General Obasanjo charged the villagers to repeat the March 28 Presidential and National Assembly elections, which produced the president-elect, Major General Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former Chairman of the Board of Trustee, (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who made a surprise visit to the popular Itoku market in Abeokuta South Local Government Area, Ogun State on Saturday, April 4, addressed the people, urging them to exercise their civic duties on April 11.

Obasanjo visited a few local fabric store and in no time, the entire market was agog.

PM News reports that while addressing the traders in one of the under construction market hall, the former president told the people that he had not been opportuned to visit the market since he returned from Abuja, saying that, “in the spirit of Easter, he felt it was appropriate to do it during the season”.

Speaking in his mother language (Yoruba), Obasanjo said, “Since I came back from Abuja, I have not come here to say hello to you. But, it occured to me that I can do it during this Easter period and that is why I have come. How is business, I hope you are all faring well”.

Responding to questions from newsmen on his visit to the market which has over 20,000 traders, Obasanjo said, “Since I came back, I have not really visited any market. I have come to do two things. I have come to give them Easter greetings and to find out how they are doing.

“This is my community. As a member of the community, I want to know what is going on and what is happening in the community,” he said.

On his advice to the traders ahead of the April 11 election, Obasanjo retorted, “They should do exactly what they did last Saturday,” he declared as he made into his waiting vehicle.

Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who on the announcement of General Muhammadu Buhari as the winner of the March 28 presidential elections, congratulated the president elect but urged him to fight corruption in the country.
PoliticsOBA Of Lagos Has Finally Clarify His Statement by phaulzoe(op): 5:10am On Apr 07, 2015
He isnt forcing any1 to vote 4 ambode but he wish if d igbos can show appreciation to fashola by voting ambode...lo ba tan
Read below.....
“My attention has been drawn to a publication in a national newspaper where HRM Oba Riliwanu Akinolu was alleged to have threatened Igbos in Lagos to make them vote for Ambode.

Last Sunday, all honorary Eze Ndigbos in Lagos paid a courtesy call to HRM Oba Akinolu. At the meeting the visitors praised the Oba for his fatherly support for and cooperation with Igbos in. Lagos. They assured him of their continued good neighborliness with other tribes in Lagos and support everything that’ll further strengthen that harmony.

Oba Akiolu on his part acknowledged the enviable performance of Governor Fashola and his contribution to the growth of investments in Lagos. He gave the assurance that he is not disturbed or angry with South-East and South- South votes for President Jonathan as perceived by the Eze Ndigbos. The Obas thereafter called on the Igbos chiefs to show appreciation to Lagos State by supporting his candidate Mr. Ambode for continuity of excellence as they have earlier promised.

He assured them of his continued support‎ and assistance where needed and the meeting ended with the traditional breaking of kolas, alligator pepper, and bitter kola and pouring of liberation on the ground. It was within this context that that the tradition of Lagos with regard to the lagoon came up. It was noted that whoever works against the throne and the interest and peaceful co-existence of Lagos would end up in the lagoon as per tradition.

Oba Akiolu stated further that the Igbo people have not betrayed the throne. Lagos has also not betrayed the Igbo people. Lagos has done so much to make the Igbos comfortable and to prosper. For this, we expect reciprocal respect and understanding. The Oba of Lagos prays that the Lagoon and the throne will continue to bless and protect all those who reside and visit Lagos.

Oba Akiolu is the father of all irrespective of tribe, religion or political persuasion. In Lagos, we have an old traditional proverb that relates to the Lagoon. The Lagoon is unique to Lagos. The proverb stresses the need for unity and understanding when you do business in an environment and in this case when you live and do business in Lagos.

Oba Akiolu prays for peace for the land of Lagos and prosperity for all its inhabitants”.
