A 2-year-old girl, Chinaza Agwa, mysteriously disappeared from her parents’ bedside in their residence. It happened on March 6, in the Amuwo Odofin area of Lagos State. Parents are still waiting for their missing daughter! Chinaza is the last parents’ child, whose 14- year-old marriage has brought four children Emeka, 13, Chioma 9, Obinna, 7, and Chinaza, 2. The mother, Mrs. Chinyere, says: “The last time I saw my last daughter was on the 6th of March, around 1am. I had just fed her with tea and bread. She was wearing red trousers with a shirt. The only thing she could say was to call mummy, daddy, and brother. She is a girl that when you go close to her, you would not regret it. She plays with everybody.” After feeding her daughter, Chinyere went to bed and slept off. She woke up at 4am and noticed daughter’s disappearance from her side. “It was around 4am when I woke up from sleep but I did not see my daughter. I woke my husband up and he told me to check her in the other room where her brothers and sister laid. I did as my husband told me, but I did not see her. I continued to search for her. I went outside the room to search for her, yet I didn’t see her”, Mrs. Chinyere comments. Immediately frightened mom decided to call the attention of her neighbors to her predicament. “I began to shout. I woke all my neighbors. I urged them to help me check if my daughter walked into their houses. But I discovered my front door was opened. I hardly leave the front door opened. I was the one who closed the compound gate and our door that night. I could not have left the door opened,” she says. Chinyere noticed that the gate to the compound was also tampered with. “The gate was forcefully opened. Our neighbors passed underneath the gate. Some of my neighbors came home around 1 am. Underneath the gate there is a large hole there that one can pass through into the compound,” she adds. Chinaza’s father, Kenneth Agwa, said this disappearance was like abduction by an in- house friend. Their door was also opened when they woke up, disclosing that this door can be opened from outside, even when locked from within. “They could enter my apartment through the main door. Anybody close to me in the compound knows how to open it. You can stretch your hand over the door and unhook the door. When we lost our key there is a place I cut the door. All the boys in the compound come to my house to charge their phones, therefore, they know how to unlock the door. That day, they used the same method to steal the baby away,” he narrated. People searched for Chinaza everywhere. They even went to the forest, the neighboring communities and the barracks. Also, parents went to the Police and made a proper statement. Two of Kenneth’s neighbors are currently in police custody. One of the suspects, Chinonso, was arrested for making an ambitious statement. He had boasted, in Kenneth’s presence, that he would make money, by hook or by crook. Kenneth alleged that Chinaza was very close to Chinonso. The second suspect in custody is Onyeka. He was arrested because his shoe was seen in the compound on the day of Chinaza’s disappearance. Kenneth is pleading with the two suspects or whoever is with his child to release her. Chinyere is still expecting her baby to walk into the house through the front door. It is the same hope she is giving her other children. “I have been telling them that they should be calm that their sister would return,” she states. source: https://www.naij.com/790545-missing-2-year-old-girl.html?source=category_latest_page

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state has appealed to Lagosians to bear with the government over the lingering shortage of fuel and power across the state. In a statement issued on Wednesday, April 6, by Steve Ayorinde, the Lagos state’s commissioner for Information and Strategy, Ambode said Lagos state consumes more than 40% of the fuel and energy needs of the country and therefore appreciates that the impact of the scarcity would be felt more in the state. He urged residents to remain calm, orderly and law-abiding as government is doing everything possible within its power to find an immediate solution to the crisis. According to the statement, Governor Ambode says he shares the pain and discomfort of Lagosians and assures them that President Muhammadu Buhari is deeply touched by the situation and is working round the clock to alleviate the suffering of the people. The fuel scarcity which has been on for several months has left many businesses grounded. However, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, the minister of state for Petroleum has stated that the fuel scarcity would be over today, April 6, in Lagos and Abuja, while other cities in the country like Port Harcourt, Warri, Sokoto and Kano would begin to experience improvement during the weekend. source: https://www.naij.com/790101-ambode-reacts-fuel-scarcity-reveals-buhari-going.html?source=index_main

While they have been designed to fit perfectly in
your pocket, this might not be the safest place
to store your mobile phone.
New research suggests that keeping your phone
that close to your skin greatly increases your
susceptibility to the phone radiation.
Dr Devra Davis started her research after
noticing the trend of women keeping phones in
their bras.
She cited a medical case in which a young
woman was found to have a mobile phone
shaped tumour in her breast. ‘Regardless of the area exposed to the
continuous radiation emitted by your cell phone,
there’s the potential for harm, although certain
areas are clearly more vulnerable than others.
‘For example, research published in 2009
showed evidence that wearing a cell phone on
your hip may weaken an area of your pelvis.’
Scientific evidence has also shown that radiation
can damage DNA and affect male fertility – so
maybe lads shouldn’t be keeping their phone in
their front pockets any more? source: http:/ metro.co.uk/.../heres- why-you -should- ... |
