Yes, I used the cardremit app to transfer my funds to my BA on expatrio. Yes,the country of origin is Nigeria, I don't even think you need to worry yourself about that. Once the funds are in your cardremit account, you just go to the transfer section and input the amount you want to transfer in either the euro or naira box, and the equivalent (based on the exchange that day) will automatically appear in the other box. Input your Iban from expatrio and automatically too, your details (name and all) will appear in the receiver's box. Then hit transfer.
It actually took less than a minute in my case for it to appear on my expatrio dashboard, I was so happy. I should probably have come back to thank @Sid57 for the advice. So yea, it's seamless.

Thanks so much for the breakdown. There’s one bit I’m still confused about. When I want to generate the account from Expatrio, they first asked me where the funds will be coming from, selected Nigeria, then after they asked if the funds will be coming directly from me or someone else. What should I pick in this scenario is my question or am I doing something wrong ?

Yes, got confirmation that I can send twice or more from expatrio. But can't download the "06 confirmation" until I have transferred the full amount.

Did you end up using CadRemit to fund your BA ?
If using CadRemit , when initiating the transfer from Expatrio, would the country the fund is coming from still be Nigeria ?

What of the who is transferring the money ? Myself or someone else ?
how long did it take for the money to reflect in your BA ?

You can open your block account and snap the page and upload. Please don't block yet until you've been called to send for preliminary review. You can block your account from 24hrs to 5 days depending on the provider

Hi @Hannania my brother wants to help me with a declaration of commitment , but the earliest date he could get appointment in his city is first week of June, the only thing left for me to upload is just that, would it make sense to upload something in that slot since it would still take 3 to 6 months to get to my turn and join the queue. Then update it when he sends it. If yes, what could I upload there ? Also would I be able to update it once I’m on the queue ?

This gets more confusing, from Hannania post I read earlier, what I got from it was that, you can upload the document for now, but the embassy would have to contact you for when it gets to your turn for document review

Yeah I know that. But you are still in the queue at that point waiting for your documents review. I have uploaded everything except the block account proof and heath insurance, I’m waiting to move to the document review stage before I would then do those ones. Atleast that’s what I understand from this thread

Ask the sponsor to check the ausländerbehörde's portal of his city for steps or he/she can work in and request formal requirements(Usually for smaller cities). The letter is called Declaration of Commitment (Verpflichtungserklärung) and make sure it's for Chancenkarte.

They'll request payslips, house contracts, etc, then carry out a creditworthiness on the sponsor before issuing the letter.

You'll need it to be shipped to Nigeria because you need to submit the original on the day of your interview

Opened up my Expatrio account, awaiting approval but I have already gotten an email for health insurance. I am in the stage of submitting supporting documents.

For School reports, I am thinking primary school testimonial, primary school testimonial and WAEC result.

For University degree does the school certificate suffice or I have to also add a transcript?

Because each tab supports uploading one document, do I merge everything for each tab as one document and upload it? or do I upload one there and the rest to Other Documents tab?

Hi Sorry out of curiosity, when you say you are in the stage of submitting supporting documents, does it mean the embassy has contacted you ? Or you are just uploading the documents prior to getting contacted ?

when did you register on the portal. I’m asking because I want to get a rough idea of what the timeline for mine would be. I registered sometime mid February and I’m yet to be contacted.

- Coloured photocopies of past visas, entry and exit stamps
- Hotel booking (booking.com with free cancellation. You need to add a card though and I added a USD card)
- Flight booking (Qatar Airways with 72 hours book and hold. I did not pay for the ticket)
- Travel Insurance from AXA Mansard (paid less than 5k for a 1 week duration)
- Account statements. I run a business so I submitted both personal and business statements. I asked the bank to print and they charged about N25 per page. One of the banks said they don't print so I had to print that myself.
- Bank reference letters stating how long I have had the account and that I am the sole signatory to the accounts. The reference letter costs roughly N600 per bank
- Coloured photocopies of business registration documents and printout of latest tax payment
