Foreign Affairs / Re: UK Prime Minister Sacks Minister, Paul Bristow Who Called For Gaza Ceasefire by Philipponzaghi: 9:45pm On Oct 30, 2023 |
If this happened in Africa, they would have been writing to the embassy screaming African leaders are killing freedom of speech. But here is the UK prime minister sacking someone just because he called for peace. If na one African president dey kill people of other country, USA go condemn to The Hague but since it is Israel doing the killing, they look the other way and say they are fighting terrorists. This world is the more you look, the less you see. 214 Likes 30 Shares |
Politics / Re: Wike Plans To Remove Fubara, Install Rivers Speaker As Gov – Edwin Clark by Philipponzaghi: 5:02pm On Oct 30, 2023 |
What is Tinubu business with a PDP state? It’s a democracy and the FG should not meddle into the affairs of a state government. Except if in a case of breakdown in law and order that is bigger than the police. Then the military can step in as commanded by the president. |
Politics / Re: Bishops Who Supported Tinubu Say They Have Been Vindicated by Philipponzaghi: 1:34pm On Oct 30, 2023 |
tete7000: The vote difference between him and the winner is not up to 5%. Now imagine Azikiwe is not on the ballot as a Christian, he would have won Shagari by a wide margin. Although Awo claimed he was rigged out when he lost and that was when they did the abracadabra of 2/3. 2 Likes |

leanonme82: Exactly. Obafemi Awolowo almost won that election with the Christian-Christian ticket even with the fact that another strong Christian candidate is on the ballot who is Azikiwe. It always seems impossible until you try. A Christian-Christian ticket can win the presidency if the Muslim Yorubas support the ticket. All you need to do is to win the whole South with at least 85% votes and win the whole Christian middle belt. If the candidate is strong enough, he will get some votes in the core north. You just need massive turnout of voters. If you check 1979 election, Awo got massive votes in the West such that Ondo votes alone almost equal or more than that of Kano. 55 Likes 5 Shares |
