ZUMA'S STATUE --
I love this piece. The writer is a good Bible student

Written by Adakole Emmanuel J.
AN ACCOUNT OF THE KING'S GRAVEN IMAGE

1. And it came to pass that a certain Governor from the East by the name Rochas the son of Okorocha who ruleth over the province of Imo, sent a messenger to the kingdom of the Southern country of Africa.

2. And he said to the messenger, in this manner shall ye speak to the king, "long live the king! thou art highly favoured in the the eyes of my Governor, even among the people of the province of Imo, therefore come this day to meet me in my kingdom that though mayest be honoured"

3. And the messenger did according to the words of the Governor.

4. And it came to pass that the king of the Southern country of Africa by the name, Jacob the son of Zuma, entered into the province of Imo, even into the city of Oweri, the dwelling place of the Governor.

5. And Rochas the son of Okorocha made a great feast and prepared a banquet before the son of Zuma that night. And he called all the noble men of the province to meat in his Palace, even in the court of the governor, they made merry.

6. The Governor hath also hired men of craft that they made a giant graven image of Jacob, the son of Zuma. And the height of the image thereof was ten cubit and two span , and the weight thereof was equals two thousand measure of brass. And the garment thereof was that of the noble men of the West.

7. And he placed the graven image at the Centre of the city of Oweri. And unto Zuma, the king of the Southern country of Africa, was a title given which was higher above any other in the province of Imo. Also, the Governor nameth a street of the city after him. These was the manner with which king Zuma was honoured.

8. All these things happened on the tenth month of the sixth year that Rochas the son of Okorocha reigned as Governor over the province of Imo.

9. But it came to pass that when it was told the people that the Governor hath spent five hundred and thirty million shekels of gold and silver for the graven image of Jacob, the son of zuma that they were wroth with anger.

10. And it grieved the labourers of the province and they took counsel among one another and saith, but how shall this thing be? Is Jacob the son of Zuma also among the righteous men?

11. Howbeit that the son of Zuma was honoured in this manner in the province of Imo? Is not he the same king that dealeth dishonourably in the manner that he spent the gold and silver from the treasury of his country? Is not he that the magistrate put a charge against for taking bribed?

12. Is not it under the reigns of this king that his people persecute our brethren who dwelleth in their country and even put many to death and rendered their businesses desolate?

13. Howbeit the Governor treat us with great disdain? For we laboureth for over ninety days without wages and he said unto us "be thou of long suffering for there is no gold and silver in the treasury that I may pay thee thy wages". And yet he spent millions of shekels to honour the son of Zuma.

14. And the head of the labourers declared according to these words unto the people saying, "arise this day and gird thy loins for we shall march across the city of Owerri, even unto the gate of the Governor.

15. And they marched across the city and declared according to this words unto the Governor, "thou dealeth treacherously with us in the manner thou sayeth 'there is no gold and silver in the treasury that I may pay thee thy wages'. Wherefore thou honoureth the son of Zuma with so much riches from the treasury?

16. This thing shall ye do, O Governor: remove the graven image of Jacob the son of Zuma from the city that there might be peace in the land".

17. And the Governor replied them in this manner. "Harken unto my voice o ye inhabitants of the land. I shall not be careful in the manner with which I answereth thee on this matter.

19. Go back to thy tents, for I, even the son of Okorocha hath repenteth not that I made a graven image of Jacob the son of Zuma. For many more of this statues shall ye see in the city of Owerri in the days ahead".

20. And the people lamented and said "woe unto us! behold, the evil spirit from the devil hath entered into the Governor." And yet many saith, "verily verily, the Governor is afflicted with insanity."

21. But the Governor doeth not according to the words of the labourers, for unto this day, the statue of Jacob the son of Zuma remaineth in city of Owerri.

As for the latter days of Okorocha, his life and times, and allegiance to the king of Northern Nigeria are they not written in the annals of the kings of Nigeria?

Politics / That Voice From The Kitchen by philomental: 3:03pm On Oct 19, 2016
I have lent my ear to the resent reaction of Mr President to the wife's opinion regarding the way his government is going, saying the wife belongs to the Kitchen and... to me, like most other Nigerians would observe, it doesn't sound well, bad enough this came some days after the girl child day was observed by the UN. But before I go further let me do a little analysis of both sexes.
God created man first, then the woman. Man to be the head, the woman, a help meet. Naturally, men are very good in taking risks, that's why you find men more in the business world and leadership position, two places where a lot of risk is involved. On the other hand, women are created to be very SENSITIVE. This is one part of womanhood that every man who ignores it, lives to regret later.

Women are designed to look beyond our shoulders into what is ahead with great focus. While men are busy looking for money and fame, we, many atimes forget to raise up our eyes to see what lies ahead, even when we do, what we will first see coming ahead is MONEY, more MONEY, and even much more MONEY. Rarely will we see DANGER - this is where the women come in, to complement our BLIND SPOTS.
It is of great "wonderment" where Aisha would take the boldness to go say what she said on international radio, BBC, but my people would say "NA CONDITION MAKE CRAY FISH BEND". One wouldn't expect that from a MUSLIM lady, married to a man believed to be a staunch MUSLIM too; in fact from a religious point, she should be silent no matter what (so as to make heaven, according to the Koran). But if Aisha has risked her religious life and belief, then this calls for concern.

Just as Dele Momodu has observed, only Aisha KNOWS Buhari well. Baba NEEDS to LISTEN to Mama. He should forget about his PRIDE, EGO, ..., friends that advise him against Mama's action because I can state clearly that THERE IS FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN. Rev. Fr. Mbaka had shouted few months ago about an attempt on Buhari's life, is this the beginning of the fulfillment of the prophecy? Sometimes in an attempt to run away from prophetic fulfillment, we end up running into it.

Baba may have thought that his "Enemies" are the ones who are attempting his life and may wrongly attribute the wife's action as the product of this same "Enemies" , not knowing it may be one of his closest acquaintance, as the prophecy isn't explicit. It is time to think out of the box. Let Baba call on Mama to hear the full episode, there may be a SENSE in her NONSENSE. Let them both reason together for the sake of LOVE and family ties. Your wife, Baba, is your STRENGTH, if she turns against you, you will end up like Sampson.

Reuben Abati, in his write-up had made us know that Aso Rock is a place where the WEAK don't survive, thus Baba's refusal to LISTEN to Mama may be because there is a higher force compelling him not to LISTEN to the wife. This is where we all come in as citizens of this country, both lovers and haters of Buhari and APC, to pray that Baba should give ear to Mama for the betterment of Nigeria.

I rest my case. Good day Nigeria.

Politics / Western Powers Blocking Nigeria’s Power Solution – Kemi Adeosun by philomental: 7:41am On Oct 06, 2016
The Minister of Finance, Mrs Kemi Adeosun, has accused western powers of being a stumbling block to Nigeria’s plan to improve power output through the use of coal. Adeosun said this on Wednesday in Washington during a discussion on the importance of addressing infrastructure gaps in developing countries at the World Bank, International Monetary Fund General Meetings.

She said that improving power supply was the corner stone of the current administration’s goal towards economic development, yet finding it difficult to get support from western community. “We want to build a coal power plant because we are a country blessed with coal, yet we have power problem. So it doesn’t take a genius to workout that it will make sense to build a coal power plant.

Kemi Adeosun
“However, we are being blocked from doing so, because it is not green. This is not fair because they have an entire western industralisation that was built on coal fired energy. “This is the competitive advantage that was used to develop Europe, yet now that Nigeria wants to do it, they say it’s not green, so we cannot.

“They suggest that we use solar and wind, which is the more expensive. So yes, Africa must invest in its infrastructure, but we must also make sure that the playing field is level,” she said. Adeosun said that in spite of the need for foreign borrowing to finance the country’s infrastructure gap, the strategy was to get the cheapest money.

She said Nigeria’s debt to GDP remained very low but that the cost of servicing those loans was high. “Right now, we are being very conservative about our debt and we are trying to get the cheapest money possible from multilateral agencies.

We are working very hard to make sure that we get multilateral funds first before we go to the euro bond market, which is a little bit more expensive,” she said. She added that the country’s strategy was to get public private investments because even if Nigeria dedicated five years’ full budget to bridging infrastructure gap, it would still be insufficient.

Meanwhile, a report released by the IMF showed that global debt was currently at a record high of 152 trillion dollars. The Director, Fiscal Affairs Department, IMF, Mr Vitor Gaspar at a news conference, said the debt was 225 per cent of World Gross Domestic Product. The report showed that 100 trillion dollars was debt of the private sector, while the remaining was public debt.

To address the growing problem, the report suggested targeted fiscal interventions in form of government sponsored programmes to help restructure private debt. “Fiscal policy cannot do it alone – a comprehensive action using all three policy prongs, that is monetary, fiscal and structural policy.”

Investment / MMM Zimbabwe Froze Withdrawals, Old Members Lost 80% Of Funds by philomental: 2:49pm On Sep 15, 2016
Less than three weeks after Zimbabwe’s National Reserve bank warned citizens to stay away from MMM, the scheme might be showing signs of imminent collapse. MMM Zimbabwe had in some few weeks ago stopped all withdrawals and allowed deposits.

As reported by BehindMLM. In an effort to stave off an inevitable collapse, MMM Global’s Zimbabwe chapter froze investor withdrawals. Deposits were still permitted, with the intention being to collect money without withdrawals draining the system and unfreeze existing accounts on September 15th.

That plan has now been cancelled, with MMM Global Zimbabwe prematurely unfreezing investor withdrawals.

But unknowing to MMM members, the scheme is ripping them off. Here is the catch as reported by BehindMLM:

While affiliates deposit real funds into MMM Global, the company itself pays out Ponzi points called “Mavros”. Mavros must be exchanged for real money, subject to availability of new investment deposits being made.

MMM Eastern Africa, who run the MMM Global Zimbabwean chapter, have reduced the Mavro exchange rate from 1 Mavro to $1 to 5 Mavros to $1.

This is effectively an 80% reduction in the dollar value of existing invested funds and the Ponzi ROI attached to them.

For example, whereas previously an MMM Eastern Africa affiliate who invested $1 was promised $2 within 30 days, now they’ll receive just 20 cents.

Affiliates who had been hoarding Mavros in their back office will now only be able to claim 20% of what they were previously able to request in withdrawals.

This change has likely been implemented due to a lack of new withdrawals, leaving MMM Eastern Africa unable to meet it’s 100% ROI obligations come September 15th.

By reducing withdrawal rates by 80%, it now takes longer for an affiliate to “break even”. But after five months the problem of paying affiliates more than has been invested, known as a “Ponzi liability”, persists.

This will inevitably still bring about a collapse. MMM Eastern Africa have just put it off a bit.

Some existing members are crying foul calling this drastic measure unethical as new members are being offered free money while they are stuck in the system due to their accounts losing 80% of its value.

That’s of course assuming affiliates don’t riot, stop promoting the scheme altogether and demand their money back.

MMM members in Zimbabwe have already started counting their losses. Mr Tinashe Muza of Harare told iharare.co.zw that “All along things were moving in the right direction and we now have nowhere to claim our investments.”

“When we started putting our funds in the scheme one could get assistance within seven days but things later changed to 14 days and when we were shut out the waiting period was 21 days. What it simply means is that the number of people in need of help has outnumbered the number of people joining. Right now we have nowhere to get our money which we invested.”

Another victim, Mrs Rosemary Mawonde said: “We never thought the scheme would end this way as we believed that by using EcoCash to do the transactions, things were in order. I am surprised that EcoCash is also distancing itself from the scheme and it is clear that I will never recover the USD300 that I invested.”

EcoCash, the mobile money operator that allowed its service to be used by MMM members for their transactions has distanced itself from the matter saying:

“We advise our valued customers and all stakeholders that Ecocash is a licensed mobile payment platform that enables customers to make financial transactions such as sending money, buying prepaid airtime as well as paying for goods and services within the confines of the law of Zimbabwe. EcoCash promotes safe and legal transactions but will not be held liable for any losses arising from the use of EcoCash to engage in illegal activities such as Ponzi schemes.”

Last week, Nigeria’s Securities and Exchange Commission SEC had warned all Nigerians to stay away from MMM. According to estimates, there over 509,021 Nigerians who are members of the Ponzi Scheme as at the time of writing this report.

No one knows when the scheme will start collapsing just like MMM Zimbabwe. However, in May, MMM South Africa had collapse with countless citizens losing millions in invested funds.
