LegendHero: Ojukwu is not a strong candidate in 2003. Infact the weak guy lost a senatorial election even in his own Anambra.
Also, Obasanjo wrote votes in 2003 and it was one of the most rigged election ever with that of 2007.
Man wrote almost 99% for himself in Ogun state. Even Jesus himself cannot have such vote. You said same thing about Obi before the last election, how he will not win 1 local govt. Is obi now a strong politician to have won all states in East? How come Igbos had 2 "weak politicians" in 2003 and 2023, one won all and another lost all? The answer is simply because the East votes on merit not ethnicity |

How can you say Nigeria is colonial master when as at 1891, Sokoto, Benin Kingdom, Aro Kingdom (including all Igboland), different kingdoms etc were independent states on their own and had their government system intact? ;
You bi real olodo. You don't know anything. Sorry, I didn't know your problem was this bad. Have you heard of Amalgamation of 1914? Have you heard of Southern and Northern protectorate? When we argued against wasting our resources they will call us names. After using propaganda to proceed, after wasting our scarce resources they will sneak back like unrepentant prodigal son and pretend they were not warned. Apapa wharf - 1913
Lagos - Ibadan railway- 1901
Telephone cable from Lagos to London - 1886
Lagos - Kano railway - 1911
Who built it? Omoluabis.
How? No other ethnic group existed in Lagos as at the time all these were built save Hausa and Tapa. So those were not done by "Nigeria" but done by "Lagos" as you claimed? Go and buy JAMB form. Who told you "Nigeria" started in 1960? Your free education teacher did not teach you the colonial masters were the "Nigeria" of the years you quoted? You can as well say First Bank of Nigeria was started by "Lagos" since it was started in 1894 in Lagos, Olodo |

One of them on this thread is even asking that they de-invest from Lagos and invest in coastal towns which I infer is in the same SS that this road network project is meant to open up.
Now tell me how SS people will want to sell prime real estate to them after they opposed the project that will make the adjourning lands along the route spike in value?
This coastal highway project normally should attract commendation and support from their likes as it will surely see to other coastal towns in the SS opening up for business, investments and tourism.
But for their myopic hatred inspired by pure bigotry for anything good outside their region , they have now shot themselves on the foot and kneecaps. Some of you always think you are smart but people easily see through your hypocrisy. Now you love SS people so much but you didn't start the work from calabar but started it from your bedroom, so that SS part of the work will be easily abandoned while your part will be done. |

emkz: This is the assumption that exposes the limitations of many of you. Why exactly would the project be abandoned? Has Tinubu ever started any project and abandoned it?
Why not wait for the project to be abandoned before complaining?
My reading is that some of you are filled with so much hate that any sign of progress is what you unite to fight.
Have you been to the US? Do you know the massive investments they did on roads? Do you know the impact of such infrastructure for the communities and for the government? Do you know if farmers can easily transport harvest, it would boost trade and help the economies of the local people?
Instead of being cynical, look on the bright side and start looking for opportunities for yourself.
Construction workers need to eat. Support someone to open a small food business near the area and make money.
It is a pity that many of you have become so damaged that you can't even support progress when you see it.
Those of us who have been opportune to visit several countries can attest to the impact of infrastructure in the short and long term. That's why people like you keep making same.mistakes thatbhave kept us in this mess since 1960. So.we have to wait for Tinubu to make his own mistakes? 1. How.much is the total budget allocation per annum for road construction? 2. Where will the fund come from to finish the project. 3. Do you know how many years it takes the government to repair a simple expressway? Eg Lagos Ibadan, Onitsha Enugu? Averages almost 20yrs 4. If it is to be financed by the construction company and tolled, have they done similar projects before? 5. When did they bid for this project, who else competed, how did you arrive at the choice of the company? 6. Same company that could.not finish Lagos Epe expressway for almost 20years? I know critical thinking is not cheap that's why there are too many poor people in the country. Continue to repeat history. You want a fanciful road, that's why there are too many fanciful white elephant projects everywhere in the country with zero economic benefit In your mind you are the only one that visited other countries? You are just a poor thinker looking for fanciful projects you can't afford at the expense of scarce resources. |
Politics › Re: Peter Obi Vehemently Condemns Lagos-Calabar Highway As A Misplaced Priority by PHIPEX(m): 4:38pm On Apr 30, 2024 |
emkz: If anyone from the Niger-Delta comes across the thread, please remember that some of you voted for Peter Obi. Peter Obi has demonstrated he is against the progress of the Niger Delta communities. The bulk of the funds for running our economy comes from the Niger Delta. But he says a big project to criss-cross the Niger Delta is a misplaced priority.
Note that the US spent their way out of recession through the New Deal which focused on massive infrastructural development across board, including roads. There is no nation interested in progress that is currently not engaged in one form of infrastructural development or the other. But the one which is 60 years old overdue in Nigeria, Peter Obi is fighting it, simply because he lost election.
If he didn't build anything meaningful in Anambra, I think it is disingenuous to fight against something being built through the Niger Delta. Thanks to Tinubu's ingenuity, Lagos is undergoing massive infrastructural development and embarking on an audacious railway project which the likes of Rufai Oseni would condemn.
Peter Obi doesn't want the progress for the Niger Delta. He just wants to get the votes and use anti-developmental and archaic ideas to ruin this country completely.
Only vote for those who want progress to be in your land. With this tweet, Peter Obi has shown he is not interested in that.
As for the Landmark CEO who has been all over the place making noise, can he show us documents where the shorelines and beaches in his location were ceded to him? If he violated the right of way, it is evil for him to complain. The best thing to do was to meet and find ways to relocate his business or shift to an area where the coastal highway won't pass. When I travelled through Accra-Cape Coast highway, part of which was adjacent to the ocean, it was a beautiful sight with the blue waters! Guess what? Beaches still functioned!!
Just to add, a road network is also a delight for businesses. Food can easily be transported from rural areas to urban centers and those in rural communities would make good money.
But Peter Obi does not want this. So.e of you are not better than scammers, why didn't you start the project from calabar, Mr lover of Niger Delta? Anyone with an trade of brain know this project will be abandoned within the Niger Dekta axis. |
