When I got to the hospital, my gynaecologist check again, she said it was still 2cm. She did a membrane sweep and said I should come back when I see the signs. By this time I don't have any contractions. I waited and waited for the real contractions to start, just infrequent painless contractions for 3days. Then we decided to go back to the hospital on Saturday afternoon, I was checked again, still 2cm but they admitted me to observe if I will progress. I was just on bed, having small small painless contractions. Then on Sunday, they checked me, still 2cm, membranes was swept again . They decided to start augmentation early Monday morning if I don't progress.

By 4am Monday morning, they passed tablet misoprostol .i started having menstrual like cramps and slightly painful contractions. Around 11am, I was checked again, it was still 2cm

The pain had intensified and at this point I was just holding my husband's hands, put my head on his, step on his feet just cos I was told to reserve my strength I didn't want t shout, but some pain will b so unbearable I just have to open ur mouth. At about 6:15pm the new shift came and was taken to labour room, the Dr checked and I was already 8cm so I was given one injection at the back of my left palm that Will bring urge to push, then anytime I feel d urge d nurse will tell me to hold on then few minutes later she gave anoda injection then we started a new journey. she gave me instructions has to what I shld and shldnt do anytime the urge comes. So i the first, second, third, fourth, then the last with a tear my pikin head big and it actually ended in praise.

First of all, i wanto give thanks to Almighty God for this priviledge to be parents to this great gift.
On Thursday evening, i was having this reoccuring lower back ache so dh and i tot to time it to see if it could be contractions. Lo and behold it was coming more frequently but i insisted we stayed at home and go to the hospital on friday morning. Dh was not having all that as they got more serious so at some mins to 12am we left the house to the hospital.
The doctor on duty(not so nice man) did that VE on me (not painful tho, once the hand gets to where its going) and said i was 5cm gone, i was happy and knew we would meet our bundle of joy early that morning.
We were admitted and the contractions got more intense but i was still laughing tru it. DH was with me so i had someone to put all the pressure from contractions on.
At 7.40 am with strong and mad contractions, the Doctor checked me again and said i was 8cm gone, i was a bit relieved that soon just soon baby boy will arrive.
Fast forward to 11.30 am the MD gangan came to check on me, did the VE and said i was just 8cm gone that the other Doctor was just being generous but he will say the exact thing as it is. At this point i was terribly disappointed and frustrated. Like how can i be 8cm since 12am? With this mad contractions that seemed like i was gonna give up. I said all sorts of nasty stuff to Dh cuz my body was no longer mine, but i kept declaring positive words to my baby and begged him to yield to them.
After the MD(ohh such a godly man) did the VE, he broke my water and said they should administer Oxytocin to hasten the whol process, hmmm that was when i knew real labour.
My sisters that thing is out of this world, i had wicked and strong contractions that were so consistent, my body was no longer mine, i thought i was gone, DH was trying to console me but i told him not to touch me, i wont wish that thing on my enemy cuz it is hell.
When they hit me, i would scream the nurses would say i was pushing but i kept saying "i'm not pushing this baby is pushing me". Ohh the nurses too were angels, such young ladies with a good heart, they were with me all the way, encouraging me and praying with me. They kept saying u're doing great, just try some more. God bless them.
At some minutes past 1pm, MD came in and said i should push intensely when i had the contractions and ohh i was happy that we were almost there. I pushed with all my strength and might, and after about the 4th push and a big cut, at 1.40pm, my hunny bunny popped out with such loud cry, he was placed on my tummy and he was soo warm. I just started thanking God, praying for the Doctor, Nurses everyone around. I bursted into tears, same with DH he could contain his excitement.
All the while, our phones were off cuz we didnt want family members to suspect anything, my mum had called my mil and everyone was worried sick but thank God it ended in praise.
I still sit think about all that labour pains and wonder about how i survived mehnn it was just God. I dont know how soon i wanna take in again cuz i just cant forget all that pain yet but my mum says God has a way of making a woman forget all that and soon again i would start to think of having another child. Well, we shall see how it goes.

Cappo, thanks for checking. we still dey there o. Abeg Sabi mamas, help me torch light this matter. I started having menstrual cramps with painless contractions every 20-30mins a day to my edd, I thought labour had started o.i was able to sleep around 3am, by morning everything vanished only to start again evening of my edd, still painless. I went to hospital, the doc checked me I was 2cm, sent me home asked me too come back when contractions are stronger. I went for ANC next day, the gynaecologist did membrane sweep and said I should go home o that before Friday I should have delivered,that was Wednesday. Friday has almost finished o and I just feel mild cramps sometimes. They dint even give me appointment at d hospital as they were so sure I will return in labour.. When should I go back to the hospital? Should I just wait till I have contractions /any other sign? I am a first timer .40+ 3 today.
I am concerned since I already dilated a bit. Abi it has close back ni?

I had prodromal-labor from 36 weeks that I started saying that I must not give birth in June. There was a day we even packed everything and I decided to wait 1 more hour before going to the hospital but everything seized. My sister and husband got use to labor signs, my parents kept encouraging me to relax and that my EDD was 20th, I was afraid to go out so that it doesn't start on the road, I can effectively coach on labor and delivery now because I read up everything about it and I stopped sharing what I was feeling with anyone because it became embarrassing to say that I felt I was in labor but it will end up being a false alarm.

Fast forward to Thursday 13th, I woke up with back pains which is usual but these ones felt really different. I didn't tell anyone because I thought it was not the real deal. I decided to go about my normal duties but I started having uncomfortable contractions that were not regular. Around afternoon, it started developing a pattern and I began timing it. My in-law called me to know I was doing and I told her that I was confused, she asked me to come have it checked. My dad called and I was in a hurry to let him go because I didn't want to have a contraction on the phone. If my parents find out I'm in labor, they will freak out so I decided to keep it.

At the hospital, I told the doctor my symptoms and he said he was going to stop my contractions since I haven't seen show and , I told him that I was already 39 weeks so I expected him to check me instead, we headed to the labor room, I was checked and his gloves were covered with bloody show. He said I was 2cm dilated and that I should get my bags. I went back home, ate and bathed, took a walk with my sister to move things along, came back and ate again. My contractions were now stronger and close then we headed back to the hospital. I was checked again and I was told I was 5cm around 9pm. By 11, I was 6cm, 8cm by 12am and 10cm around 12:30, I was progressing quite well and I was told that I could be done by 1-2ish.

I've been very calm and managing the pains well, they were all hailing me. I started feeling the urge to push but my baby hasn't descended and since my contractions were strong enough, I didn't need any form of medication.

Suddenly, things started slowing down and my contractions were getting far apart and I was in so much pain begging them to bring out my baby any way it can be done. They started talking hush hush, listened to baby's heartbeat. I was tired and feeling lightheaded, I started crying and begging my baby to come out. I wanted to request for CS but I thought I've gone too far to back out so I gathered my strength and made up my mind to be strong. The doctor came and administered oxytocin, within 5 minutes my contractions were stronger and I pushed like never before. My baby came out at 4:50am screaming out. I was just smiling and grateful it has ended. My placenta was delivered and I was stitched up. Everything ended at about 5:30am.

lemme kuku tell the story.so I started having contractions on and of for about 3days.I was already tired at 37weeks but didn't want to give birth just yet make my baby bake.but I was exercising taking long walks and climbing stairs. which made me have on pelvic pain and contractions which wouldn't let me sleep. so I made zobo and drank on 15 and 16th morning.I was also speaking to my cervix everyday.so that 16th I was having slight contractions till in the night meanwhile,I didn't go for antenatal that day so I asked my husband to take me to the hospital to get checked.even if I would be sent back no problem. when we got to the hospital, the doctor did a VE (very painful thing chai)I almost cried.he said my cervix I far but I am 4cm and would be taken to the labour ward shortly. ghan!! ghan!! ghan!! ghan!! I didn't expect that I was in labour.I was expecting to be sent back home

Please grant me a safe and normal delivery, position my earthly divine helpers as I bring forth my child on that day, all medical personnels, caregivers and anyone I shall encounter, shall work in accordance with your word for my good and that of my baby! Take away all blocks and barriers that are hindering this blessing in my life.
Lord I also pray that You lead all pregnant women who are reading this prayer to safe and normal delivery. All this I ask through Christ Jesus, who is Lord , now and forever. Amen!!!

I started contracting on sunday right from church but since it is not frequent,i ignored it besides tuesday the 4th of july was my antenatal so i decided to wait till tuesday since the contraction was not painful.
Fast forward to tuesday, when i got to the clinic for antenatal i was checked, behold i was 2cm gone. The doctor told me i could no longer go home with the way the contraction is coming coupled with the fact that am way past my EDD according to LMP. Hence, i was admitted but immediately i tried to lie on the hospital bed, i ruptured my membrane.
The doctors kept coming at interval to check how far have gone only to discover am stil at 2cm. Long story short, oxytocin was administered yet i didn't go way past 2cm even after increasing the dosage.
After 22 hours of labour and no progress in the dilation of cervix,i was scheduled for C.S and within 55 minutes of being operated upon,my beautiful princess was brought out yelling her lungs out. She weighed 3.5kg and she is the most beautiful creature have ever seen.

Back to d point, EDD is 26th and I just felt I should start mat leave, as hubby no dey d same statr with me, he came around to come pick me on tuesday to his place, got home safely, arranged babies room but couldnt pack hospital bag ad I taught time still dey. Little did I know what awaits me. That night we were weak and I told hubby oya ooooo lets do that thing as he don tey. He said he is too tired as he drived to fro and still did house chores. I insisted oo and I took over (on top of him).
Chai, if I had known 30 minutes later cramping started painful one ooo woke hubby he said he warned me o and slept back. I was awake all through grunting he go just use one eye look me and say pele na stress.

Around 3am it was unbearable so he woke to check google what d cause is and he said but no blood and fluid so hold on it will go. I jejely face my lane.

Early momo I packed few hospital things and told him d time is now na so we drive down and they confirmed its contractions. Hmmmm was happy thats d journey will b over soon little did I know everyone's package is different. OLUWAOLORUN ALAGBARA OOOO haa my sisters 27 hours labour ni oooo (started counting from house o) deliverd 3am since tuesday night haaaaaaaa mofekuuu. My doctors nurses were tired they tried tried inducement et al nothing ooo na so so cry shout. Naso I remember village people but was praying all through, hubby turned pastor. Ordinarily men are not allowed but my husband was given preference to stay in labour room throughout cos it was something else. I started begging for cs at a point but financial capacity wasnt there.

Haa my people NEVER will I try this...ELECTIVE CS Na him b way. If only u know what I went through.

But in all nko my prince charming came out weighing 3.0 no tears at 38 weeks

This is not my first time o just that I lost the first last year july at 7 months was not as painful as this. God of restoration did a living one same July

sebi na me dey cry since say baby no wan come, baby no wan come. I decided to use trekking and force am out, na im I go type my c.v. make I go submit for one school wey I make enquiries for my kids yesterday. No dulling ooo.

I carry my two left leg with my elephant belly at 40 + 5 days dey waka jejely and slowly with plenty of iya beji sorry oo wey full the air.

After submitting, I went to carry the laptop I dropped at the business centre wey I print the C.V. As I stand there dey collect the laptop from the woman hand wetin I hear na kakararam, the plank I was standing on broke na so I enter gutter, one leg in, one leg outside. My skirt tore into two from the parting to my bum

luckily for me, as I was falling, I used the hand wey carry laptop push my tummy from the edge of by the deep gutter and saved my stomach.

people now rushed and pulled me out. my heart was racing like never before, come scrape my leg finish. na so I hold my chest like say the chest wan fall out and they dragged me to a chair.

I sat there for long oo before I could get myself again and began to look for pin to pin my skirt and go home.

I am lying down now and contemplating wether I should go to hospital or wait till my antenatal tommorow. my whole body aches and I still feel a bit shaky.

So Thursday 6th of July, woke up feeling normal. Went to work in the heavy rain. However, I noticed my LO's movement was very light. More like flicks and flutters. I can fairly predict her movements as I have been keeping count with Kickcounter App since 25weeks so the App has given me a fairly accurate description of her movements which works. However on that day, the whole thing was just somehow. Hours on end without movements and when she would move, it was so light that i could have missed it if I was not paying attention.

So I closed from the office and was contemplating going to the hospital as the next day was my ANC but I decided to go. Got there and saw the doctor at emergency and told him. He said it's normal for baby's not to move regularly in late trimester but just to put my heart at rest, he would check. My sister's, that's was where the devil lost the battle. Doctor checked with that their horn thing and the Doppler. Nothing. He did not find any heartbeat. He was trying to assure me that everything was fine but I could see he wasn t so sure. He called one of his colleagues and that one asked us to come upstairs. By this time, I called my hubby to start coming. The second doctor checked, nothing. Two senior matron checked, nothing. They dragged the scan machine upstairs and checked. My people, no heartbeat was found. The scan machine did not pick my jewel' s heartbeat. See me, I was crying like a baby. One of the matron told me to start praying and declare that i can't come this far to go back empty handed. I just started saying there shall be no loss over and over again. I don't even know what to pray. Then one of the doctors suggested (I'm Yoruba) that they should go in on me but the other one said he wont because he thinks it's an IUD (intra uterine death) but that instead they should give me something to push out the baby. The other matron then responded God forbid (God bless her soul) and she started saying this woman will have her baby. They were saying all these in Yoruba but I understood perfectly. By then i and my husband were a bumbling mess. The doctors then called their CMD. He had already gone home but they told him its an emergency and he came. This was 3hours later. No heartbeat found for 3hours. The CMD then came and checked again with the Doppler and the scan machine. He checked for over 15mins and he was just sighing and sighing. As he was about to turn off the machine, he saw something flicker on the screen and then he started to count it but it was so irregular. He said madam, I have to go in on you now. I don't like the count of your baby's heartbeat. If we havent been able to find it for four hours, I wouldn't want to wait any longer. I just said please do what you have to do. Just save my baby and that was how I entered the theatre. After she was brought out, they had to run series of tests to make sure she was really fine and Monday while we were being discharged, the CMD told us that if any of his colleagues had told him that they delivered a healthy baby that had no heartbeat for four hours, he would have thought they were exaggerating and just said we should thank our God.

My dears, whatever stage your pregnancy is, if you feel something isn't right, it probably is or isn't but don't joke with it. Have it checked out. The hours between 6-10pm of 6th July is not what I would wish on anyone. I could have given my heart and left breast just to be told all was fine. In all, I'm just grateful my baby is here, sound and healthy.
