PoliticsRe: Court grants Badeh N2bn bail by phlemzy: 5:54pm On Mar 10, 2016
Bail of Life. If Dasuki's bail isn't up to Lagos state budget for 2016, it will be rejected!
PoliticsRe: Police Spends N600m On Procurement Of Dogs by phlemzy: 5:40pm On Mar 10, 2016
Those dogs must be able to detect the presence of evil spirits...I wonder what they cost of their food would be on a monthly basis. Good people Great nation indeed.

PoliticsRe: We’ve Not Unbundled NNPC- Kachikwu by phlemzy: 10:52pm On Mar 09, 2016
I don't know why Kachikwu didn't just humbly turn down the offer to serve as GMD NNPC in the first instance. The same way he kept swallowing his words every now and then. Technocrats would handle government/economy in this manner.
PoliticsRe: APC Shouting CHAINS And We Heard CHANGE By Ben Murray by phlemzy: 10:49pm On Mar 09, 2016
Its unfortunate that what we bargained for is not what we're getting at the moment, hence, the mockery.
PoliticsRe: Nigeria To End Petrol Imports In 18 Months – Kachikwu by phlemzy: 6:39pm On Mar 09, 2016
Please whoever knows Kachikwu in person should please advice him that Nigerians are not smiling st the moment. The earlier he keeps his vision 2018 to himself, the better.
PoliticsRe: Nigerians Want Magic But Change Is What Buhari Promised- Femi Adesina by phlemzy: 7:13pm On Mar 08, 2016
Buhari promised change?? Not magic!! The change we have seen so far doesn't look positive. At least if you can't secure gas pipelines as you claimed, how come people that want to generate their own electricity cannot do so because they can't easily get fuel at fillings stations across the nation? It is either they pay more to buy fast or they spent useful hours waiting on the queue. In no long time it will be a year and you want Nigerians to give you till 2019 to get just one thing right?
EducationRe: My Frustrating JAMB Experience! by phlemzy: 9:52pm On Mar 06, 2016
I really don't know if we have a non-responsive government. It seems all the series of complains about JAMB so far have been coming from Ghana & Togo. It seems the government find the issues of JAMB to trivial to be addressed. Because if not, I see no reason why an active Education minister wouldn't call the registrar of that board forward to address the series of problems faced by its applicants this year.
PoliticsRe: #buybrazilgrassgrownaijacows Trending On Twitter (PICS) by phlemzy: 9:35pm On Mar 05, 2016
There's nothing you won't hear in recent time. Which one is Brazilian grass again? Is it that all the numerous species of grasses that Fulani cows graze across the Federation are no longer nutritious for them? Or could it be that Brazilian grass will make the cows to show new attitudes?

PoliticsRe: Time To Re-write The APC Manifesto - By Dele Momodu by phlemzy: 12:00pm On Mar 05, 2016
I still don't want to believe that this country is too big for one person to govern. This is definitely not the best we can get from the government of CHANGE.
BusinessRe: How Much Is Dollar Selling @ The Black Around You? I Just Bought @ 300 Now by phlemzy: 7:16pm On Feb 24, 2016
I won't be surprise if it sells for N200 by Friday afternoon. Dollar now find its way into Nigeria from neighbouring countries and overseas. One very annoying thing is that most marketers of imported stuff like rice, groundnut oil and some others were too fast to increase prices of their products way too high, imposing hardship on the masses all the name of dollar scarcity. Hope they have made enough already, cos its falling as fast as it rose.
PhonesRe: Why I Hate GLO Data Service With A Passion: What Of You? by phlemzy: 10:36pm On Feb 23, 2016
Glo can be very frustrating at times that I'll feel like breaking the sim off. It's not as if all these network providers don't get info from their base stations whenever there's a problem. They are only not very fast at fixing them when they come up. Good to see one of their engineers here helping people out. I don't think customers have to call Call centres to complain about Internet outage in an area. They should all have a good feedback for monitoring.
FoodRe: Lagos Seizes Expired Fish From Indian Company by phlemzy: 11:22am On Feb 18, 2016
Will someone tell me that these cartons of fishes were smuggled through our porous borders? If not, how come products like these pass through customs clearance without proper check. There's something fishy.
PoliticsRe: Tariff Reversal: Nationwide Blackout Looms, Power Firms Warn by phlemzy: 11:15am On Feb 18, 2016
Inspectahdeck:
you stated that "discos will not do business without making profit" very true but where I have a problem is when a business makes profit the ultimate. Power generation business is a long term profit orientated business, not short term.

From fixed charges and estimated bills they made billions of Naira, how did they spend same? Because if they reinvested the billions back into the system the sector would be better or at least improved from the previous state.

What about prepaid meters they refused to share? Let them share same before any increment. So customers know they are paying for what they consume.
Maybe there should be a public analysis of what the revenues/expenditures of all the Firms involved in generation, transmission & distribution look like so that there can be some justifications to their requests for increase. On the issue of prepaid meters, I wouldn't understand why they don't want to share them to consumers.

PoliticsRe: Tariff Reversal: Nationwide Blackout Looms, Power Firms Warn by phlemzy: 9:32am On Feb 18, 2016
Inspectahdeck:
"Somebody is playing politics with electricity". I think this is the most stupid and sentimental seeking statement in 2016.

How can you buy or startup a business expecting to finance with customer's money? I blame the privatisation process of PHCN, it took awhile before they settled the FG.

For almost 2yrs, they charged 750 Naira as fixed charge per month (either you use their product or not). please multiply 750 by 1m people= 750,000,000..... and the greedy people are hoping for a 45% increase in tariff to operate.

What about estimated bills? What they do is the company zones a particular amount to an area or district and expect the marketers to distribute charges randomly to their customers. That is why a lot of people receive outrageous bills and they are reluctant to share meter to customers.

My advise to them, go to banks and seek loans with a plan on how to service and repay same. Like I always tell Ikeja electricity staffs, "do not forget you are a private company and can be sued. No light equal no finance and Government might revoke ownership".

For a week and half no light in my area. please share your experience in your area
The earlier you realise that the current power sector cannot be sustained with the removal of fixed charges and reversal back to old rates, the better. Discos will not do a business without making profits. They need money pay workers' salaries, pay Gencos for the power supplied them, a fraction of their revenues will go to the transmission line maintenance firms, and even out of this revenue, they will still have to pay for the power losses due to the aging transmission lines. At start off point years back, they have loan facilities obtained by them which they still have to service. Getting another loan may not be a right choice for them when they know that the revenue they'll make will not sustain the running of the business. Its very unfortunate that we may keep hovering around 2000-4500MW at generation level since we all are not ready to tolerate any form of increment.

It's very disappointing that a person that sang unity songs that is meant to unite us as a country had to say this at a time like this. It's uncalled for.

PoliticsRe: TARIFF HIKE: Discos Reject Calls For Suspension by phlemzy: 4:50am On Feb 18, 2016
We will keep revolving around a circle like we got no clues. Discos will NEVER survive without increase in tariffs. It will not be a profitable business. When Discos don't grow, Gencos will not grow, let alone expand. We will end up fluctuating around 3000MW-5000MW for a long time to come. There is no magic involved. Maybe it will make some sense if government can encourage manufacturers of solar panels to come set up their plants in Nigeria so that low-energy consumers who can afford can buy them at cheaper prices, thus reducing the energy demand from the grid. If I may ask, why should the Senate wait till after the new tariffs were enforced before calling for reversal that due process wasn't followed? Have they been deaf since over 2 months that the new tariffs was slated to take off in February 2016?
PoliticsRe: FG Justifies Buhari’s Foreign Trips by phlemzy: 4:36am On Feb 18, 2016

BusinessRe: Naira Depreciates Further To N385/$, N505/£ In Parallel Market by phlemzy: 4:31am On Feb 18, 2016
Its good that we all know that the continuous fall in the Naira is not outrightly due to the fact that we are more of an importing nation. Russia, for instance does not do as much importation as Nigeria but has its currency losing its value against the dollar. What we common is the fact that we both run an oil-dependent economy. Obviously Nigeria is worse hit as we do too much of importation. It was shocking to discover that despite the number/varieties of trees we have in our forests, we still find it more convenient to import toothpicks. We have exhausted our limits on all such practice. We must start doing things differently now.
PoliticsRe: Come & Buy Me, I Am Made In Nigeria, Man Tells Zahra Buhari. by phlemzy: 6:56pm On Feb 17, 2016
The best thing we can all do to help the present situation in Nigeria is to buy more of our home made products. The present dollar-Naira rate is killing so many businesses. You don't need to be a major importer before u'll feel this. Just visit a regular market & see for yourself.

PoliticsRe: Blunders Upon Blunders Upon Blunders - Femi Aribsala by phlemzy: 11:08am On Feb 17, 2016
"According to BakoAbdullahi Yelwa, a former official of the Kaduna chapter of the Independent Petroleum Products Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), the change that has happened is merely that a new cabalof thieves and robbers are now controlling the NNPC and its affiliate, the Petroleum Product Marketing Company (PPMC). Yelwa maintains this is responsible for the never-ending cycle of fuel scarcity that remains prevalent all around the country"
What a country.

PoliticsRe: Female Army Cadet Tortures A Man For Calling Her "Beautiful" by phlemzy: 7:47am On Feb 04, 2016
All these cowards called Army cadets really need to be stuffed with some common sense. I don't blame them tho. What did the NA do to those cadets dat molested innocent civilians in the past? Nothing. So why wouldn't some others do worse. The Western country that trained NA never gave them this as part of their training. So disgusting and annoying seeing those animals in the video.
