U just messed urself up saying i was hoping the ticket will be cheaper when i arrive US, so u missed the part where i added 50dollar to the quotation i got in Nigeria abi. Mr or Mrs upandan, weldone
moonraker:
Lol are u kidding me? I believe that the above is also applicable to you too no? You had the chance to ignore my comment but u didn't.

And with all due respect, your clapback hasn't benefited anyone on here.

I stated that it was a bad idea to have such mentality that tickets would be cheaper when you get to your destination. Any seasoned traveller would know that.

This one u are where u are nd talking like i am spending ur money, this one is my mistake o don't personalize it. No one is goofing here.
moonraker:
Sorry to be bearer of bad news but u goofed. Did even bother reading this thread at all?

Anyways, to all prospective visitors, buy your domestic tickets before coming over. Do not assume that it would be cheaper because it won't.

We came in through turkish air last thursday, flight was amazing with one hr stopover. Got to jfk was asked how long we be staying, and also if we had anyone in the us, the cbp officer stamped us in just while asking the second question.
But my pipu, that was how I didn't book the flight to our final destination cause I saw 300 dollars online nd just assumed 350 dollars it will be, guess who paid 1200 dollars for a domestic flight. Vacation is on a budget now, in all US is beautiful.
Safe flight for those making the plans

Pls house don't mind my too many questions, I read somewhere that the immigration officers at MMA might decide to frustrate a first time traveller even make d person miss his flight, some terrible tales. Pls is the situation still same or its better now, nd also any advice for a first time traveler on how to handle the officers. Thanks.

I will only talk about the part you want to quote your wife as the reason for refusal,
I don't think that is right as in the 214b she wasn't stated as the reason. Also applying so soon..... . . But what do I know.
NwaAmaikpe:
Hello all..
I am my wife were refused B1/B2 visa on May 2nd this year because she was a bit nervous and had a panic attack while answering her questions..but I fared very okay.

The VO was continuously typing until when my wife started describing her organization and their sector rather than explaining her job function as it was on the form.

She then asked if we had kids and we said we were waiting on the Lord

We are reapplying again this June
And I want to make sure we crossed all our Ts and dotted ou

- I was asked why we were rejected before and I wrote because my wife was nervous. Is thus a good reason and can they confirm this as true??

Are there some other tips to succeed this time around?
Thank you

Hi Sabrina travel, kindly help check for a cheap flight to Orlando Florida, any date in November is good. And also if it's possible to fly in to another state before connecting Orlando to beat cost. I am seeing about 1.9 for an adult and a child. Thanks

June 2016 I applied for a sales conference but I was denied, I had so many documents with me then.
VO are you married

Me: reaching out for my marriage certificate

VO : Pls take that away, do you have kids

Me: yes, trying to show her a family picture

VO: don't show me anything, how old are you

Me: 32 wanted to show her my NCC document, she changed face so I Palmed

VO : where are you going

Me : San Francisco, I stuttered a lil, cus I can't pronounce it properly, I still can't.

VO : are you pregnant

Me: No, thank God I didn't think about being asked about pregnancy, maybe I would have taken a pt strip with me.

VO: sorry bla bla,

Fast forward to last Friday
Our appointment was for 7:15 we got to the embassy around 6:40, and joined the queue for our time.

I had noticed the previous night that I booked my appointment with my daughter's gtb receipt number and hers mine.
I was a bit nervous, praying we won't be sent back.

We were checked and passed in to the main hall, and I noticed in Lagos the embassy tout have their boundaries very far away from the embassy sensitive area, unlike in Abuja where they are everywhere ' as at last year'

So we got in did all the checks, and was waiting our turn on the queue, the Chinese guy was nice that day and an America VO, I was hoping to interview with one of them, that was how I heard , the elderly ones and those with kids below six will be expedited, they were moving us out of the line and I fall in front of the Indian lady, I was the third on the line. She refused the first lady, I didn't really pay attention to her interview. But the woman right in front of me was just shouting at her ' I want to go to amelica' she asked her where in the US she wanted to go to like 4 times before she said New Jersey, she was there shouting ' I want to go to amelica' the VO had to refuse her.

Then it got to our turn

VO : smiling at my daughter, they both were waving at each other. Good morning madam

Me: Good morning ma

VO: she was taking some time , still smiling at my daughter, she looked at me and said have I attended her interview before, I said no but I have been denied before, she said she is bringing my previous interview up to check.

Me : okay

VO: what do you do

Me : am an experience center manager

VO : you still work with ......

Me: yes, and I got promoted last year

VO: is that your only child

Me: yes

VO: where does your husband works, I filled him as my sponsor

Me: states his position and where he works

VO: why are you interviewing in Lagos this time

Me : that's because I was posted out of Abuja last year from work and Lagos is the closest location for me right now.

VO where are you going to

Me Florida, Orlando Florida

VO why is your husband not going

Me he wants us to go on this trip but subsequently he 'll join

VO where does your husband work

Me told her what I said before

VO how long has he worked there

Me 6yrs

VO how many kids do you have

Me Just her

VO how long have you been with......

Me 7yrs

VO how did you know about the hotel

Me we got it from the internet

VO are they offering anything

Me complete 12 days package.

VO congratulations, your visa is approved, she gave me the slip

Me :you too, you too, erm thank you ma.

* our passport are new

* I was denied last year

* I didn't take any documents with me

* wasn't wearing my ring

* I didn't lie about anything in my previous interview, that's very crucial I guess, cause she made sure she had access to my previous interview before starting with me

* i am married but applied without my husband

God 100%

Hello VO,
So I booked an interview for my daughter and I already and I select B2, but going through some post now I am seeing it should have been B1/B2 instead as we will be going for vacation only. How do I sort this please.
TravelRe: U.S. Non-immigrant Visas: We’re Listening by PHOOMI(f): 2:36pm On Apr 06, 2017
Dear VO , is it advisable to fill ones official email address in the DS 160 form or other email address is better
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by PHOOMI(f):
From Ojota, take a yellow/traditional taxi to VI (Victoria Island), Walter Carrington Crescent, or you can take any other cab or Uber. Going by bus to the US Consulate may leave you ruffled for the interview.
If you will be driving, better to check google maps, or ask someone around you. Lagos is big!
For hotel, Lagos is big and it also depends on your preferences. You can check booking.com, there are hotels within walking distance from the Consulate. If you want something not too far and not too expensive, you can find from N10,000 upwards in Lekki Phase 1.Thanks

What is your income when you include your salary and income from the plantation? Also now that you don't work in the bank what do you do now? Are you into cocoa farming full time or doing something else.
okay I'm still in a paid employment, a centre manager with one of the telecom coys, cocoa farming is seasonally but when we sell after all the process and all profits comes in couple of 6figures. I guess I 'll just divide the profit I make in my farm nd add it up to what I make at my job nd leave out explaining about my farm.

First of all.. changing your salary from N120,000 to N120,378 will make no difference and also you must include all the income you received in a month... if you get some incentive in terms of cash every 4 months you will divide the amount by 4 months and add the balance to your monthly salary.. about the cocoa business if you work in a bank I'm not sure about how much time you have to take care of the cocoa business also why do you wanna travel with your daughter alone what about her mom?
thanks for replying, I have workers who manage my farm I only supervise, I visit often too nd my salary now is 170,000, I don't work in a bank and I am the mom.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by PHOOMI(f): 2:42pm On Feb 19, 2017
I was denied a visa to attend a conference last year June, in my form I filled that my salary is 120,000 instead of 120,378, and also my job description as a sales representative, I didn't explain further. I didn't include that I get quarterly incentives of between 8&12% of my annual salary. I also didn't include that I'm a cocoa farmer, though not exporting yet but sells locally for now, I make the bulk of my money from my farm.
Now I 'll like to go on a vacation with my daughter to New York, I have some places in mind already, now that I made manager my salary increased just a little. I 'll like to know if I need to put all those other money I make and how in my form and where will I explain them and to what length. Thanks
