Yemo, there are enough clients who CAN afford custom designs, you just need to look in the right places. If you think a client cannot afford your fee, try and develop price packages for your services; i have tried it and it worked for me. I also try to size my prospective clients up before billing. NO IDEA IS ORIGINAL, IT DEPENDS ON HOW YOU PRESENT YOURS. Cheers all. |
Micro-blogging service Twitter was taken offline in what the company believes was a co-ordinated attack. The popular site has been subject to a so-called denial-of-service attack, according to the firm's official blog. Denial-of-service attacks take various forms but often involve a company's servers being flooded with data in an effort to disable them. The outage began Thursday morning but the geographic scale of the attack is still not known. "On this otherwise happy Thursday morning, Twitter is the target of a denial of service attack," said company co-founder Biz Stone on the company's blog. "Attacks such as this are malicious efforts orchestrated to disrupt and make unavailable services such as online banks, credit card payment gateways, and in this case, Twitter for intended customers or users." The service was restored shortly after the blog post, but the company's status page suggests that the site is "continuing to defend against and recover from this attack". A ComScore study suggests the site had around 45 million users worldwide as of June 2009. However, as many users interact with the service through mobile phones or third-party software, the actual number of users is likely to be higher. Source: BBC Website |

I have noticed that a lot of web designer/ developers in Nigeria are not up to date with the latest trends in web design and development. I take my time to look around and check Nigerian websites, especially some big corporate organisations; and what i see sometimes is a real mess. Some websites have not been updated since they were launched (as far back as 2005), but for me to see a real crappy looking website developed in 2009 is really heart-breaking. Not to rubbish the efforts of out designers and developers, but we need to step up our game and move with the world at large. I have a host of sites i visit everyday, just to add more to my knowledge and skills; sites like www.smashingmagazine.com , www.noupe.com , www.mashable.com just to name a few. I'll like you guys to visit some of this websites and i bet you can learn a lot there. I also noticed that a lot of website developed in Nigeria are always riddled with errors, which make me wonder if our developers ever validate websites they develop. I have a few questions for developers; Do you validate your sites? Do you check for browser compactibility? Do you add Accessibilty to your websites? Nairaland is loaded with a talented people, lets move up further. CHEERS ALL. |
@ceebayjo, Zain might not sound like a good name, but i bet you can easily remember the name. |
