A lot of men are too emotional … toxic(ally) emotional that is. Often unable to reason logically, instead resorting to murder and other crimes, driven by toxic emotion. It’s okay to cry sometimes and spare the world the rest of the hubris.

Yeah. I know what you mean. But when a language is losing some of its vocabulary, it’s our responsibility (if we are aware) to put a stop to it. Languages should be growing their vocabulary, not letting it dwindle.

While abandonment is bad, Igbo culture does not speak to "abandonment" that may sometimes follow divorce.

Igbo culture focuses on discouraging the practice of making girls, baby mamas. So if you impregnate her, without marrying her, then the kid belongs to her family.

However, if you marry her, a subsequent divorce does not mean that the children cease to be yours. They are still your children and should still bear your name.

A 9 year girl is old enough to open the car and get out if she's uncomfortable.

We are talking Fahrenheit here, not Celsius. Texas gets into the 100’s. Even cooler areas get into the 100’s when there is a heatwave.
Also the little girl wasnt at home. She was sitting in a car in the parking lot of her mom’s job. Some of those parking lots are huge and not safe for a 9 year old to wonder around all day. She probably admonished to stay in the car. Also the heat in the parking lot is only marginally better than the heat in the car. Leaving the car and airconditioner running or going into a rest area at her moms job (which she probably wasn’t allowed to) were the options available to the little girl
