The powers that be keep assassinating all these African leaders seeking to make a difference in the lives of their people and Africans because of their love for oyibos don't seem to see it.

I weep for African youths who are too blind to see who their REAL enemies are. Most Africans don't even realize that the reason they are in the situation they are in is because western powers dictate what policies African leaders should enact. Most African presidents are string puppets to western powers.

Even this whole Fulani Herdmen problem in Nigeria, there are powers that be outside Nigeria who are sponsoring Fulanis herdsman from Francophone speaking African countries, arming them and sending them to Nigeria to destabilize the country. But again, Nigerian youths are deep asleep or too busy arguing about tribe on Nairaland to truly realize what is really going on. By the time they wake up and realize what's really going on, it will be too late.

You have said nothing but the truth. Africa is poor, that Europe might be rich. If the Western Media portrays an African leader in a bad light (e.g Mugabe) know that that leader was one who stood up for his people’s interest, to the detriment of the West. They do anything in their power to eliminate such leaders and put stooges in their place ... the kind of stooges that will enable Europe to continue to rape Africa. This opposition leader did not get it. His country is still under French neo colonial grip. Why would he get on their plane and allow them to administer him injections and such? Even till death, he did not see ... at least, not clearly. The sitting president has been in power for 36 years. He is the darling of the French, who want things to continue as they always have. The French have taken out the opposition, ensuring that their man remains in office.

Some African leaders are harangued for hanging on to power for too long and are called dictators and such by the West. And then you have people like the president of The Republic of Congo, as well as Kagame, who has been in power since the 1990’s. They are never called dictators by the West. Kagame has been helping Europe, the United Nations etc, to despoil Congo. They are robbing Congo blind (D.R. of Congo) and carrying out the proceeds of their theft, through Rwanda. 70% of the worlds coltan (necessary in making smart phones and laptops) are in D.R of Congo. D.R. Congo is the richest country in the world. The incessant war in that country, is being funded and propagated by the West. The so called U.N Peace keepers with their guns and heavy machinery, claim that they are only observers. The sit by and do nothing, when fighting factions raze villages and kill scores of women and children (civilians). Millions of civilians have died in Congo in the past few years. The so called U.N “peacekeepers” are just spies on the ground, there for the sole purpose of furthering western interests.

Anytime an African leader stand up for his people to liberate them they always end up dying mysteriously, but the corrupt Western puppets always rule for life in good health.

That is true. They get rid of good African leaders and put the bad/corrupt in their stead. Those ones dance to the tune of the G7, G8 countries and all these so called World organizations and help these organizations rape their countries and/or Africa. These bad leaders rule unscathed, because they are doing their true masters work i.e to keep Africa poor and a perfect minion to the West.

Truth is that cross river state is one of the most backward places in Nigeria.. Forget calabar that they use to save face.. They're places in Cross river the men speak a different language from the women.. Cross River can drag land for Africa and can kill for it

Now this nonsense.. Cross river should wake up

The fact that they have the thickest forest is a good thing. The rest of Nigerian forests have been denuded and wildlife is basically non existent. CRS still have the Cross River gorilla (an endangered species) in those forests. As for the rest of Nigeria, we better be careful, because the Sahara is upon us.

I especially love when they do dance battles and pirouette.

What if they twirled a big cloth above their head as they pirouette? The aerial view would be amazing.

Ogene is a style of Igbo music consisting of, and taking its name from, the ogene instrument, which is a large metal bell.[1] The Ogene instrument has historically been made by the Igbo people of Nigeria. It is one of the most important metal instruments of the people.

Ogene bu ndu.

I especially love watching “Comfort Zone Ogene Nation” on Youtube. They play at Villa Toscana and the audience members sometimes step to the dance floor to show their bedazzling footwork

And before you know it you already on your feet...

Then you have to learn from your Grandpa, so as to keep the old genre of Ogene alive

There is one I have visited in my village as a kid( we usually fetch firewood at the back. Big thick forest). I can remember seeing some old women always sweeping that big shrine. Everywhere is carved. Those carvings reminded me of st Peter's basilica in Rome. There is one kindergarten hall built there outside the shrine. The artefacts in that shrine are still preserved till date.

Please, do whatever you can to ensure that it is preserved for future generations. Do not let any mad hatter, arsonists, burn it.

A lot of Nigerian christians and moslems are intolerant, do not know anything freedom of religion/association and definitely do not practice the doctrine of live and let live. There are many instances of them burning down traditional religion shrines - mental slaves, doing the work of their masters

PAGAN9JA:

The point herein is that Pagan Animist Tribal religions are not like abrahamic religions.

They are deeply intertwined with our indigenous culture and independent ideology and thought process.

For example, it is because of our indigenous religion that many of our indigenous animals and plants have survived and been protected in sacred groves and totemic reverence.

When we talking about traditional religion we are talking about preserving our natural ecosystem and (tribal) societal balance as well.

Therefore it becomes of utmost importance to preserve them.

Our natural religions are non-proselytizing so they can co-exist harmoniously with any religion. As a Pagan I can visit a mosque and church although I prefer not to because I don't get back the same respect for my beliefs and culture in return.

Animism is Spiritual Sciences . It keeps our mind open to the existence of unlimited posibilities. What you are inferring about religious is based on your exposure to an abrahamic upbringing and environment so you don't really understand where we are coming from.

When I read your tirade on Wole Soyinka I understood that you don't understand his ideology. It is the same as ours. Ogun is a part of his existence. Whether he worships it or not he respects and participates in it.

As a born Pagan I never went through any process of conversion. I joined my people in local festivals and rituals and that was it. It is a part of our natural unique existence.

Many of the great Greek scientists such as Archimedes, Aristotle, Pythagoras, Euclids etc., were fervent Pagans themselves. There spirituality never interfered with their quest for science as there was no dictat to stop them in their pursuit. These are entirely two different subject matters.

Indigenous religion leads to Nationalism and anti-colonialism but unfortunetly it was stunted at a very early phase in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. (Although there were isolated cases as well where indigenous religion took on an anti-colonial role).

Japan and India capitalized on using traditional religion as a catalyst to sucessfully inspire anti-colonialism just as the UK and Western Europe used christianity to justify colonialism. We were too late and divided in this race because we could not recognize our diverse similarities and forge it into a unified force.

In conclusion, I would say it is better to recinstrct traditional religion and reform it keeping core concepts intact.

Africans and human beings in general need spirituality in their lives. This is practical. We need to decolonize and opt for the best alternative that suits our natural psych. Our ancestors already laid out the pathway for us. We just need to believe in ourselves.

Good point. The makeshift Igbo shrines erected today have lost the essence because they don't utilize native craftsmanship and symbolism as the meanings and skills behind the carvings are forgotten although they still exist in the memories of elders and in colonial accounts.

So to revive them one must compile information from the elders before they pass away. It is of utmost importance. In cognisance with existing legitimate Dbias and interested youth.

Also our religious artefacts need to be brought back from foreign collectors for a closer thorough examination.

I agree.
