Shebi you are getting 10% dividend yield. This one is just devaluation repricing. By the time the streets hear the %s that people have been making in the past 2-3 years, then we are just getting set
I think for now the increase in upward movement is partly due to the naira devaluation/increase in Foreign participation....
However the NGX/SEC 10% increase/decrease rule will reduce any downward spiral.
NFA/DYOR cool

Crude oil belongs to Nigeria (unlike other businesses where there is a cost of goods), and it remains a major source of national revenue—even though Seplat does a good job of extracting and selling it.

MTN is expensive at this price. Only maybe 10 or 20% gain left in it. Unless H1 result is far better than expected
Looks like the resolved issue of USSD/Airtime deduction between the banks and Telecos helped get it to this point!
It might also assist their profit going forward. cool

No wonder, the oil marketers are panicking, holding meetings, and painting all sorts of doomsday scenarios if Dangote is allowed to set up his fuel distribution system.
Yeah the monopoly will be extra-ordinary until BUA completes his own refinery....these two guys go hold naija wella--see cement/food!
Shame on nnpc with four refineries!!
Anyways somehow things will work out for the masses cool

I swear. Some underestimate the benefits of this refinery because they expect it to bring prices down or improve the exchange rate.
I have been saying it that Dangote refinery may not massively boost the exchange rate because of low margins in the refining industry (whether he imports crude or buys in naira from Nigeria) but the chain effect on the economy (especially the petrochemicals), the jobs and energy security it provides and would provide at full capacity is priceless.
Exactly why we were shouting when the regulatory authorities were causing unnecessary trouble and corruptly supporting importers bringing in poor quality and cheap products! cool

Thanks for the details and more insight.
I didn't know Dr. Mike Adenuga has a Stake in Silverlake.

However, with this, it means
Shareholding structure in Sterling Holding is:

Silverlake investment-->18.75%(25%-6.25%)

Dr. Mike Adenuga-->11.88%

Silverlake investment with 18.75% is still the Majority Shareholder(exclusive of Dr. Mike Adenuga).

Quite educative and informative.

Earning is an opinion, cash flow is a fact.

A business can't go down overnight, it must have shown signs at least 2 years before it collapsed. I guess holders were concerned about the price and didn't consider the value of the stock
FOMO is also a big headache...especially in the NYSE where the changes most times comes very fast/furious!!! cool

Mankind2024:
Nice one, however, the key principle of modern investing is building a shield of protection around your portfolio through diversification. I've implemented some strong shields of liquidity around my NGX portfolio:
- Treasury Bill Shield:
- FGN Bond Shield:
- REITs Shield:
- My NYSE portfolio, on the other hand, is shielded by:
- Warren Buffett's Oracle Shield, Berkshire Hathaway's class B
- Gold ETF Shield, hedging against market volatility
- Chinese Market Shield, diversifying into emerging markets
These shields have stood the test of time, with some weathering total market collapses. With this diversified portfolio, I expect my investments to withstand economic turbulence, such as the impact of no47 trade war 2.
Bros, which REITs are you holding? We have UPDCREIT - not bad so far especially for early investors!
Also which Gold ETF in the NYSE do you have/suggest?
Osita/guys...can anyone please talk about GOLDBREW (are they suspended?) bearing in mind DIAGEO exit/the consumer sector revival!
I thought the company will do well with all the hype on ssm about the Abia state guvnor - roads construction/electricity supply in his state! cool

This is a defeatist mentality and doesn't sound right at all. When did this case start? You mean these implied "enemies" of Fidelity bank made them sell a property against existing court order? They also hipnotised Fidelity Bank to allow the case get to the Supreme Court even after admitting wrong doings at the lower courts? Why is it so difficult to stay on the material points on an issue without spinning lazy conspiracies?
If you were Sagecom "or Sagemcom", wouldn't you have done like ten thansgivings already? but you want them to just let go because you think they are being instigated?
No matter how you look at it, a case like this is a big news material for media houses anywhere in the world and they are going to milk the case dry. The good thing is that the market has a mind of its own and we just have to see how it all plays out.
Bros, you are getting it wrong!
No one is saying they should not do their jobs but they should do it well.
Let the reporters or whatever they call themselves be objective and stay on the truth especially for sensitive stories that have greater implications for the economy - quoting unknown sources is bs!
FIDELITY have handled the case with sincerity of purpose and maturity.
I come in peace!! cool

You can't declare something that is STILL in court.

The said SC judgement was on the 7th May so how is it supposed to be in the AR 2024... sad
Wish they know the implications of what they are doing - something that can devastate the whole economy!
FIDELITY is not a one man business, employs many people across the nation making money for shareholders!!
Not much is known about this Sagecom or is it Sagemcom.....how many naija employees do they have?
Naija fake news reporters/immature politicians don't think at all and it's a shame cool

Check very well. They paid in two transactions. One for 3.3 the other for 3.6. so you should get two alerts but both should sum up to N111
You are correct my brother!
The bank sent only one alert....logged in and saw the other transactions including WAPCO and LOCO's new found love tongue - CHAMPION - bought long time ago!

There have been instances of companies trading at near-zero value before bankruptcy and eventual delisting. Most exchanges won't allow stocks to hit zero before delisting. A notable example is Lehman Brothers, which collapsed during the 2007/2008 global financial crisis. Its stock price plummeted 77% within 7 days from $86, followed by a final 93% plunge, leading to delisting from the NYSE and subsequent bankruptcy filing. The aftermath is well-documented history.
It happens a lot in the NYSE.... see NIKOLA!
It's really dangerous buying speculative stocks with the mind of an investor!!
Lesson no dey finish for stock market cool

But, PG said they got the gist from a source in the bank and Fidelity itself just openly flouted that order with their press release today.
Bros, what FIDELITY did is called transparency....refuting bad press from an unscrupulous journalist quoting an unnamed source in a very sensitive matter!
Unreasonable journalism can bring down the stock market due to domino effect - everyone starts running without knowing what the problem really is.
Anyways we see how it all pans out!
NB: I have FIDELITY in my portfolio cool

My first call after q1 results.
Buy oando
The days of #50 below is over
Three reasons that will make you chase oando above #100 soon
1.The results will be massive. If you noticed aredel said they made 40% above target production for just taking over aquired assets few months ago.Again oando trading our new sweet oil discovered
2 Oando will follow the results with share allotment of the redistribution

3.Announcement of second phase of redistribution in june

The remaining of this yr is for jijo and stocks that can deliver 100% within jijo .That means any new fund will go in this direction while the investment portfolio will only be seeing rebalancing/realigning to stocks that can increase cash flow by yr end
Bros how far? Oando no send....it does not let people SWAN!
Meanwhile NESTLE on FB! cool
