Webmasters / Three Ways To Prevent Your Online Account From Cyber Bullies by pico4421: 7:10pm On Aug 23, 2015
As of recent, many things are beginning to happen online as the security online is no longer worth all trust. There is a saying among I.T experts that “Security is an illusion”. Isaac Yeffet also said, “We have an illusion of security, we don’t have security”. Helen Keller a Notable American Author said “Security is most a superstition. Is does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it.

I would like to start by saying on a strong note that we really aren’t sure because of the modern day technologies, in fact, these devices make our lives a lot less secure. This might sound a bit anti progressive, but if you’ve been current with the most recent news, you’ll understand better why I have that opinion
Today in Scholars Joint, we are going to be sharing with Scholars, Some safety Precautions to take while running online activities.

1. The Use of Cyber Cafes: Most People make use of the Cyber café’s especially when one has not gotten a system yet and needs to run some kind of research which requires the use of a high Screen Enabled device. Some people consider this one of the safest place to browse, or run and online research but the truth is, it isn’t actually the best place to do perform such actions.
Most in these modern times, there are so many software people use in constituting nuisance in the cyber world. There is actually software called Key logger. This software collects all data you process on a particular pc having that particular software and the mastermind behind the installation of the software gets all details and uses it for all kinds of threats.
Most times on facebook, you see a good friend of yours, posting links with unclad photos yet you keep wondering when and how did your friend who you know would never perform such act become one. This is one situation where this happens. The mastermind uses the details to promote his illicit contents and also act as a means to drive traffic to his blog.

Not to worry, This could actually be prevented by running a full check on the pc you would want to use in any café and after use, try to log out all registered details from the computer.

2. Installion Of Anti-Virus On your PC/Smart Phone : Most cases, we come across a useful app and would certainly not want to pass by without downloading, not knowing that it contains other malicious software which might cause harm or affect your online activities. There was actually a period where I noticed a certain change in my browsers. Whenever I log into a website, this particular ad keeps popping out creating a distraction on what I actually want to perform. I noticed that it got installed after I ran a check on my control panel but how did that happen? I sure would never for a day download such app whereas its name is not as welcoming to make me download it. It was later I got to realize that this malicious software joined another software I downloaded while surfing the net.
How to Prevent this? It is very easy. Installing strong anti-Virus with firewalls will help in preventing this from occurring.

3. Avoid Filling Unnecessary forms Online: Have you encountered a situation where you are been asked to fill a form together with your login details? For Christ Sake, what do they need my login details for? DO they actually want to help occupy my space online I asked? Ya, they do not actually want to replace you, they want you to replace your self. Confusing I guess? Ok, take for instance, You come online only to see your account (Facebook) and you see illicit contents posted with your name. You, a great personality that inspires people through your updates, now causing problems through illicit posts, Could you see how you’ve been replaced?

The assured way to prevent such act to avoid filling forms that ask for your login details as this could be very harmful and frustrating. This is mostly performed by entertainment bloggers, who use peoples account in posting lustful contents. I advise you don’t fall prey to their trap because you would never find it enjoyable.

Education / Four Things Every Undergraduate Student Must Learn Before Graduation by pico4421: 2:45pm On Aug 22, 2015
Life in the University could be very challenging, adventurous and more especially could breed you up from who you are to who you want to become.
Comparing your High school days and that which you spent/spend in the university, you surely would not need a soothsayer to tell you which is more challenging. The lectures, Night Class/Night Crash, Waking up early Morning, Struggling for Seats, Discomforting yourself just to get what the lecturer is actually saying yet ending up not hearing a piece, Mehn... That could be tiring. But above all, it is a place that redefines, shapes, and gives you a wider view of what life is really all about. Merging up the experiences achieved from Tertiary School Days, you would surely not be left behind when the die is cast.

Today, we did be sharing with ScholarsJoint Undergraduate Students, Four Things They Must Learn Before Leaving the University.

Most people consider the graduation day as a “I have finally Arrived” kind of play but to be sincere, you are only being introduced into the world.. Hey, don’t get me wrong, guess you must have known what the world is really all about while in high school but come to think of it, At this point, Mum would no longer need to give you money, She actually expects you to be the one sending her. Collecting money from Dad becomes a past tense. You begin to think of settling down, getting a house, a wife and children… Boom! Aren’t you a father now? I guess you wouldn’t get me wrong!
Ok, let’s run through the points.

1. Get Connected with Goal Minded Fellows: Obviously, you will get to meet different set of individuals while in the university. Some are not really interested on how tomorrow is going to turn up like. Some really want to make impact and be an agent of positive change to the community where they reside. Now who you connect with, determines what you are actually working towards to become. Get connected with people of Vision.

2. Create/Join A Team with Vision: In the universities, you get to realize that there are actually people with goal minded concept. You come across student entrepreneurs, Business minded folks and so many of the kind. Getting connected to these kind of people, widens your horizon of how you view life. You get ideas of creating jobs rather than looking for the invisibly clear jobs.

3. Time and Productivity: As the day goes by, there is always something that lingers to our heart, trying to pave a way towards becoming part of us. Avoiding laying much emphasis on this, we can obviously conclude that time and productivity is actually something one must not joke with. Learning how to manage our time while in school will go a long way in helping you while you adventure into the labor market.

4. Understanding Your Purpose: Yeah! You must have spent 4-7 Years depending on your course of study, trying to become a professional in a particular field. Now run a check on your self, Is that really what am meant to do ? Do I get this penchant whenever am practicing this ? A simple question but could go a long way in bringing out the best in you.
Remember: Pursue Excellence and Success will chase you pants down.

8 MIND CHANGING QUOTES FOR DISCOURAGED STUDENTS

There are many reasons a student can lose focus in school.
It can be bad grades that will discourage them to be inactive and to rebel. It can be the environment that can be stifling and suffocating for the students.
It can be the fact that many of them don’t find it easy to see the meaning in their struggles in school.
Some students excel under pressure, and there are those who crumble beneath it. It’s easy to praise the students who continuously work hard, but let’s try not to berate those who find it difficult to focus.
When students get tired of school, they find all means to take the shortcut. This is why numerous students end up copying their homework and plagiarizing their essays. This is why websites such as Bestessays.com thrive. They offer services that will ease the difficulties of student, making it tempting for them to sign up and buy customized papers. LOW CGPA IN FIRST YEAR ?? SEE REASONS WHY.

Obviously, It is expected that tertiary school students should be at their best the session they got admitted, but sadly observations show that most university, polytechnic and college students record low GPA in first year of their studies. Although reasons may vary, here are few causes of such low grade in 100L/ND1/NCE1 as the case may be.
This Post will make a fun reading, but then make sure to please fix whatever needs fixing to be able to avoid this mistake (if you are yet to start, finish first year) or perform better in subsequent years (for those from second year above). Now let’s count the reasons for low GPA in first year.

1. You Didn't Set Your Priorities Right!
Most students find themselves in the university or college and tend to think live is just a straight road without setting goals or something to achieve, they just go to class just because when you are in school you must go to class, some don’t even go at all. Setting your priorities right means planning ahead of time, know what you are in for and how soon you can achieve your goals.

Education / How To Cope With Academic Stress As An Undergraduate by pico4421: 11:07am On Jan 22, 2015
HOW TO COPE WITH ACADEMIC STRESS AS AN UNDERRADUATE

College, obviously requires significantly more effort from students than high school. Once you enter college, you will probably find that your fellow students are more motivated, your instructors are more demanding, the work is more difficult, and you are expected to be more independent. These higher academic standards and expectations are even more evident in graduate school. As a result of these new demands, it is common for college students to experience greater levels of stress related to academics.
Many students find that they need to develop new skills in order to balance academic demands with a healthy lifestyle. Fortunately, the University of Michigan offers many resources to help students develop these skills. Many students find that they can reduce their level of academic stress by improving skills such as time management, stress management, and relaxation.

Whether it's your parents pushing you to boost your GPA, teachers criticizing you for a less-than-stellar test scores, or your own drive to get in to your first-choice college -- or some combination of the three -- academic pressure can get the best of you if you don't learn how to deal with it properly.
Below are top tips that will help fight against it...>>>http://unnedu..com/2015/01/how-to-cope-with-academic-stress-as.html

MAKING A FIRST CLASS IS VERY EASY : CONVENANT UNIVERSITY BEST GRADUATING SAYS

The best graduating student of Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State in the 2013/2014 academic session, Oputa Alma, 21, finished from the Department of Computer Science and Information Science with 4.99 CGPA. She shares her story with TUNDE AJAJA in this interview

Some people have said that the grading system in private schools is too generous and unrealistic unlike what obtains in public schools. Do you see any difference in their products?
The grading system is the same. It’s just that we pay for our comfort in private schools, which enhances our performance. Those things that could make learning very conducive and stress-free are already provided for us, and we pay for them, so we tend to do better. For instance, some public schools pay N15,000 as tuition fee while some private schools pay up to N700,000. Whatever we pay already covers power supply, water supply, accommodation, equipped and functional laboratories, etc, and an enclosed environment w....>>>http://unnedu..com/2015/01/making-first-class-is-very-easy.html
