Tonysparx: Pls i dnt mean to drag any1 back,am jst a newbie and i was wondering if i need a transcript frm my school to register for ican,if YES,can i use any other document in place of the transcript cos am just doin my nysc,can i use my statement of result or nysc i.d or something?pls forgive me and like i said am just an otondo and this thread has really motivated me.thanks in advance for ur response.

Paulo, I have two questions to ask :

1. What are the relevant textbooks for the four Diets in P.E II .......

I'm aware Adeniji is relevant for Mgt and Assurance while Innocent/FAMS is relevant for FA ..Study Pack is enough for IT .... All in P.E I.

Can I get combination like the above for P.E II aside study pack abi u think study pack is enough ?



2.Do u know about NIIT and Accounting packages (Training) offered by them(NIIT) ...... How quality is their training ?

Paulipopor: Thanks for your commendation. For PE2, you have four subjects - financial reporting and ethics(fre), strategic financial management (sfm), public sector accounting (PSA) and advance tax(AT). For FRE you can use the pack and acca pack, sfm, use - Akinsulire, for PSA use - Adams and AT use- Akeju.

As for NIIT and Accounting packages, I seriously don't know if they do that but I know they do other IT certification programs like the Oracle, ccna, ccnp etc.
But my organisation is into several accounting packages including Sage, Peachtree and QuickBooks. You can reach me on 07088 53 1500 for further discussions.

nitrogen: Hi, don't think there is any nigerian FA textbook that incoporates IFRS, just get your FAMS 1&2, Innocent for group accounts and IFRS material. Read the IFRS wrt the syllabus, while reading ya group account textbook, notice the changes in terms and arrangements of accounts (format) that has taken place, e.g non-controlling interest for minority interest, etc, in your accounts (annual report), there is statement of position instead of balance sheet, statement of profit and loss/comprehensive income, etc. Nothing much, just make sure you brush through ya IFRS material (according to ya syllabus) and you are good to go.

I will send a very good IFRS material to you, I used it for both PE 1 and 2.
