My brother filled for me August 2019. I got a welcome email 2022 Feb. I have not heard from them since then but the welcome mail gave me my logging details and showed me what my next step is which is to make payment but that step is on hold. Cutie1973: Mine is 19 Aug. 2016. They have not sent anything. I think they stopped at 8Aug.2016 from the bulletin. So u can't start anything until they get to feb 2017 |

IrepChrist: Please what is DQ?
I am Dec. 04, 2006, and I have been in US since 2021. The thing is they don't follow priority date for interview appointments but DQ. Once you Dqed, you are will be queued for up interview.
For those expecting a welcome letter try and make your documents ready and concise to avoid delays. |

Your husband needs to fill out a consent form, it is required to process your baby's passport. He should go online and down load it, he should not sign the form until he is asked to at embassy. That form must be notorized at the US embassy, it is free. All the best. quote author=Piepiehoney post=118204596]Yes, US embassy.
|

As soon as you get the baby’s birth certificate send a soft copy to your husband. He should book an appointment online for the notary. He should go with the birth certificate and passport photo of the baby and his international passport. quote author=SimiMaya post=118158626] I’m travelling alone, are there documents required from the father?
|

Kemo88: Hello everyone , Had my baby in Maryland and the hospital bills alone were over 21k, I felt like I was being over charged compared to the estimate I was given. I started off in labor and by the next day I went in for CS… I stayed for 72hrs. Then I came back after two days on account of high BP and was observed for two days. I have been asked to write a letter saying the bills are more than expected and request that some bills be knocked off. I was also asked to fill a form. But when I looked at the form all I was seeing is financial assistance. When I called them, the man was saying it’s an in-house hospital thing to knock bills off. That it’s not financial assistance. I hope this wouldn’t affect my visa application in the future. I don’t want to have any issues … I don’t know what to do. Should I apply? Please I need advice. I just feel my bills are not fair enough compared to the estimate I was given. but he said the bills have been reviewed and the only way to knock off is it write a letter saying it’s over the estimate. But the form is titled financial assistance. Advice please ? Hmmmmmm. I won't advice you to go this route o. It's safer to spread the payment than to get any form of financial assistance. Financial assistance are usually given to their citizens. My 2kobo |

Kemo88: Thank you for your response Did you have an appointment for the US passport already? Was it at Washington DC? Some states accept any Notary from naija. When I had my first child in the US , the state I was accepted the notary from high court in Nigeria I don't have plans to expedite the processing time for my baby's passport as I am not leaving the US till Dec. I am not in Washington. For my first child, we were told to go to the US embassy in Nigeria for the notary, that was 2018 . I spoke to my husband about it yesterday and he suggested your husband goes to the US embassy in Nigeria that he might be attended to since your travel date is close. |

Sorry about the stress those midwives or thieves made you go through. I would have had a hard time with them too but Got saved me. I went to the airport 2 days before my trip since I was to travel on a Sunday not knowing that port health is open Mondays to Sundays. I went with all my scan results showing I was 32+ gone, the woman I met said I don't look it that my tommy looks bigger that I am lying, that anybody can come up with false scan results, I was surprised and upset. When I noticed that she is from my tribe based on her accent, I asked her if she is from my state she said yes. She calmed down a bit and asked me to come the next day which is Saturday that she would give me the fit to fly because her colleague who will be on duty on Sunday will give me tough time. I told myself that I won't bother going to see her the following day because it will look as though she is doing me a favour and make me pay extra. I got to the airport on Sunday with every other document without fit to fly from Port health, after checking in, I told the staff of the airline, Delta airlines to be precise that I don't have fit to fly from Port health that I want to go and get it, she just asked me madam are you fit, do you have any health issues? I said no that I am ok and 32weeks+, she said then you are good to go, that Delta is not big on that. That was how I excaped those mean midwives. I will advise though, if anyone needs to get fit to fly from Port health, wear a big dress to avoid stories that touch the heart. The official rate is 2k but trust some Nigerians to take advantage of people, imagine them collecting 15k from your husband smh. Kemo88: MY POE STORY
Left naija through Qatar last week, my POE was Washington Dulles. Qatar at the Nigerian airport sent me to the port health downstairs MMIA despite having my fit to fly from their website and having all documents and letters from the doctors. When I got to port health, the two so called “midwives” were rude and wicked. They kept saying I wasn’t 30 weeks despite my scan saying I was 31weeks plus or minus 2 weeks. Showed them 5 different scans all through my pregnancy and argued that how can the scans life. They asked for my LMP I told them and they counted it on the calendar got 30weeks and still said I’m lying. They said I’m over 36, They said “madam, keep arguing and see if you would travel tonight”. They threatened that they would write something that wouldn’t make Qatar take me on that flight. I guess hubby knew were they were going and told me to be quiet, he told them that we could sort this out amicably, I was upset and went outside. Hubby then gave them money, they collected about 15k naira …. They even told us not to go and pay the 5k that was meant to be paid in the bank, they asked us to give it to them. I was very upset. Anyway, asides all of that , the Trip was nice….. couldn’t upgrade like I wanted to cos the flight was full but I slept almost through out ….. I was so tired from days and days of going to bank headquarters on the island to chase my PTA.
At the point of entry? I joined the citizen line as I was traveling with my 6years old who is a US citizen. I had all my documents with me; change of intent letter from the embassy(cos I got my visa March 2021) , letter from my doctor in the US, estimated bills and so on. I didn’t hide my pregnancy cos I wore a fitted top on leggings. The CBP officer we were going to had sent two people for secondary inspection right in front of us and I wondered why. So when it was our turn…..
CBP: Hi, how are you? Me: I’m good, thanks for asking , how about yourself? CBP: im good …. Handed him all passports with the US passport on top of our own naija one CBP: so where are you traveling from? Me: Nigeria CBP: how long will you be staying ? Me: 10weeks CBP: and who are these ? Me: my mum and my daughter CBP: do you have cash ? How much do you have ? Me: I have 9k dollars but my mum has 1k… the rest are in my dollar master card CBP: any Nigerian money Me: yes about 8 thousand naira which comes to about 22 dollars CBP: any good stuff ? Me: some cereal (Ogi) and some soup.
CBP: face masks down please…… welcome to the United States *stamps us in till January*
After he was done , I was going to tell him I’m here to have a baby blah blah blah …. but my mum was like (in our native language) “keep moving, he didn’t ask you why you are here , he saw your belly and didn’t ask you , keep moving “ lol If I was asked I would have declared cos I was “document ready”. I declared during my first pregnancy so I have no problem declaring.
I wasn’t sent to agriculture so all my edikaikong, Ogbona and other soup made it safe. Lol. Been eating correct soup with poundo yam since I got in. Thank God for His mercies. Wishing everyone the very best with their POE experience . |

yansky: Please can I travel with my partner when she is 32weeks gone and can I show proof of funds at the port of entry in naira? Of course you can travel with your partner if you have a valid visa. As per proof of funds, it's good to carry dollars along incase you are asked. I entered US three weeks ago, at the port of entry, Atlanta to be precise, I was asked only one question, are you here on vacation? I said no, on medical, the officer just stamped my passport and that was all. Five years ago, I was asked how much I had on me? I advise you have dollars with you, it shows you have made plans to pay your bills and a credit or debit card tied to your naira account. |

MoAdiya: Pick the available date first then apply for the emergency appointment. Hopefully you get an approval email from them, the email will provide a link for you to pick a new date for interview. Good luck Good Morning Everyone,
Please I need clarification from anyone who has done this before. I have tried getting an appointment but it has been challenging. I am due in December but the date I am seeing is 2024.
I want to apply for an emergency medical appointment. I have all my documents to prove my pregnancy is high risk, both letter from my DR here and in Houston.
My question is: 1: what documentations do I need to apply for an emergency appointment 2. how do I go about the emergency appointment?
I am currently applying from ABuja
I will appreciate all the help i can get.
Thank you |

Jummiejei: please what was the content of the letter you took to the embassy? Did your Dr have to include a complication? Thanks In all sincerity, my Doctor's report was based on my medical history. He didn't need to add anything that's not. He refused to write that he is referring me abroad but rather stated that I am requesting to get better medical care in the US. Naija doctors are strict o forget story, they protect their integrity. I have used the hospital for over 10 years, had a surgery there and had an elective surgery in the US when I had my first child. The Dr. told me plain that if he writes that he is referring me abroad because of my medical condition, it shows that he is incompetent. So, the content of my letter was based on my medical history. |

Candybright: 30k for a paper report? Are they running fresh genaral test on you before the letter? Letter they won't even accept at the airport haaaa Don't mind them. I went for antenatal today, while explaining a few things to the Doctor, I mentioned I will be getting fit to fly from Port health, he raised his voice on how it's illegal for anyone to give me fit to fly, that he is the only one who knows my medical history bla bla blah. He has been waiting patiently for 30k. He collected 30k for the medical report he wrote when I applied for emergency application, the hospital's receptionist told me that's the amount they collect from patient for such purpose. Port health has helped me save 28k lol |

Myfavour22: Used them last month, though their website says they don’t require fit to fly, their personnel at the counter demanded for it (maybe because I was quite heavy). It has to be the fit to fly gotten from the port health which is a pretty must straight forward process. Thank you for your response. Did you get the fit to fly from port health same day you travelled and how much is it? |

Candybright: You should withdraw the Canada application since you won't be needing the visa for the stated purpose. If you don't want to withdraw, you can send a web form to notify them. I doubt if they give refund after withdrawal. Shaa withdraw before they will Sama you with refusal. Better to still have a clean record with them. My opinion
Yes I did. I got a mail from them yesterday that if I will get a refund, it will be processed in 16 weeks. I am not interested in the refund biko. I just want to have a clean slate, when I am back from the States I will apply for visitors visa with my valid US visa. |

Visa alert! It ended in praise to God. Went for visa interview today and everything went well. It looks like Abuja is better o I remember my first visa interview in Lagos was thorough, had to defend everything. Success rate is kinda high in Abuja. Was expecting questions on the receipt for the past delivery, I was only asked how long I stayed in previous visits to the US. How much is required for the procedure. All he wanted to see was my medical report from the Doctor in Nigeria and appointment in US. No question on proof of funds (account statement). I thank God for everything |

Debbieeeeeee: Congratulations on your baby, I pray God provides for you to clear your bills don’t worry everything will be okay, just let the hospital know you will like to draw up a payment plan to clear the thing while you’re back in Nigeria and they will allow you do so $34k is a lot and not many Americans can drop that amount cash down. I’ve read a story of someone here who was still paying small small for the previous birth while she went in to have to second one and she wasn’t sent back.
This is quite encouraging! For my first baby, I remember I didn't pay for Anastasia because I was not expecting to have a CS but I called the company to make payment but I was told that a collection company had cleared the bill but I insisted on making the payment myself. So I asked for the company's phone number, I called them and made payment, even though I paid more I am glad I cleared my bills to avoid issues in future and more importantly for conscience sake. |
