They actually can get information on your application. But don't stress yourself as you only need to truthfully and accurately answer fill your Canada EE form, including the refusal.

raheemkeji:
HELP PLEASE!

I applied for the USA Visiting visa using my Dad's Company as he was sponsoring my trip and my company was not ready to provide a reference letter and however, my visa was denied. Now that I am about to submit my Canada Application for Permanent residency visa, I want to disclose my current company. my Question is, will it be known to Canada that I have used another company(Dad's company) for my USA application as I read it online that they both (USA & Canada) shared Database for Visa purpose. Kindly help me as job responsibility is totally different from both applications. In addition, is there any impact of Visa rejections on Canada permanent residence applicationhuhhuhhuhhuh

Well, I am suspecting something is about to be updated or a glitch in the system again. Let's wait a while first because everything is still the same up till now.

Apparently, you can only avoid the gift deed if you saved the money. And this will be evident as soon as they see your average balance over 6 months.

The main reason why you need the gift deed is to confirm to the officer that you did not Borrow the funds, which when you read the policy statement that's what they don't want and they also know where the lump sum is coming from. So failure to include this will most likely result in a returned application.

So save yourself the headache.

emmadeking:
Having gone through the "Gift of Deed" in page one, I still need some clarifications on it.

I discovered that one can avoid gift of deed by investing the fund in a fixed deposit or TB at least 6months, then use the statement as POF.... Though I stand to be corrected

My concern is

My cumulative salary for my 3 years work experience(NYSC and Teaching job) is not up to the minimum amount required of an individual applicant.

Raising the money is not an issue, will get it from my brother. But won't it raise an eyebrow when my documents are being screened?

I just want to avoid "Gift of Deed" if possible and go for a single bank statement from FB or TB

You have to input it the same way you did the jobs.

NOC 1: Jan 2015 to Dec 2016
NOC 2: March 2016 to February 2018.

However, you must be aware that your primary NOC must be for at least one year continuous to be able to use both NOCs to claim EE points. Then you upload both references.

Chikena.

Dare002:
Dear people,

Pls how do I input my job experience, if it's in two Nocs? I plan to claim 3yrs. Do I input 3yrs, select the Noc of the primary experience, and later when docs are asked, I can then upload the two references.

Would that be a good way?

I don't think it really matters as long as it happened after AOR. But, I think you should still chill sha for little processing to happen.

I must say this is one of the best post I have read on NL. One must know that whatever may have been the norm, you can always change it. I would have done the same thing your brother did however, mine would have been directed to the evaluation body. If WES says they can evaluate a professional certification like CPA, ACCA etc. Why would ICAN be different?

So whoever is evaluating ICAN must be ready to school the evaluators as I have seen people do that in other threads and they were successfully. Never be too afraid to get what you want.

Wish we all smooth sailing!!

[Qquote author=ebony9ja post=72546501]Hi,

I can't resist commenting on your post . I do hope you can make the right decision based on what I am writing now. My close relative got ITA and submitted all documents in December 2017. He got in at 452 or so. This included additional 15 points from my brother who is a canadian citizen. After a long wait of almost 9 months, the application was rejected. He used 2 or more certificate option based on his ICAN verification and BSC degree. In the rejection letter , the immigration officer explained the ICAN certificate was not tenable. This is the exact extract from the rejection letter : '' Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) invited you to apply for permanent resident status based on the qualifications you claimed in your Express Entry profile. In your Express Entry profile you indicated that you obtained a Certificate of Membership from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. According to your Educational Credential Assessment (ECA), completed by World Education Services (WES), this credential is not comparable to a completed Canadian education credential. Therefore, this credential does not qualify under the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) program.
This change in your qualifications resulted in a loss of points that brought your rank below the lowest ranking person who was invited to apply in your round of invitation, under the Express Entry Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). I do note that your ECA lists your Bachelor of Science degree from *********University, which is comparable to a completed Canadian education credential, and for which you obtained the allotted number of CRS points. But unfortunately, you still failed to obtain the minimum CRS score required, as your credential from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria is unable to be used under the FSW program.
As I have found that you no longer possess the qualification on the basis of which you were ranked under an instruction given under paragraph 10.3(1)(h), you no longer meet the requirements of Section 11.2 of Act.
Following an examination of your application, I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of the Act and Regulations for the reasons explained above. I am therefore refusing your application.
You will receive a refund of the Right of Permanent Residence Fee that you have paid''.

Naturally , he was devastated .However , he wrote an appeal letter where he compared his ICAN certificate to similar global certificate . This is an extract from his appeal letter :

Evidence 1:
According to World Educational Services Canada (WES) evaluation of my ICAN certificate, it was
determined that my ICAN certificate is equivalent to a 2‐year Canadian program, but it was not stated
if it was equivalent to an undergraduate or a graduate program. I am writing to let you know that ICAN
certification is a graduate level program which requires an undergraduate degree as a prerequisite.
This is similar to the Chartered Professional Accountant Canada Professional Education Program CPA
PEP) which is a 2‐year graduate‐level academic program which also requires an undergraduate degree
as a prerequisite (https://www.cpacanada.ca/en/become‐a‐cpa/pathways‐to‐becoming‐a‐cpa).
Hence, based on this information, I believe ICAN certification is equivalent to the Chartered
Professional Accountant Canada (CPA) certification.

Evidence 2:
ICAN and CPA belong to the International Federation of Accountant (http://www.ifac.org/about
ifac/membership/member‐organizations‐and‐country‐profiles). This makes ICAN a recognised
professional accounting program worldwide, and an equivalent certification to CPA.
In conclusion, I believe my undergraduate degree and ICAN certification qualify me for “Two or More
Certificates, Diplomas or Degree of which one must be for a program of three years”.

His appeal letter was ACCEPTED and he was asked to do a new medical. HE RECEIVED PPR TODAY !!!!

i wouldn't know if this experience will trigger a change in CIC view/policy concerning ICAN certificate . Action of one courageous person can change the world. Its not always good to believe anything just because someone said so. If he hasn't written his appeal, he will still be waiting for ATS verification as widely believed and advised by most applicants .

I wish you the best in your application.[/quote]

You should fill Nigeria as the study took place in Nigeria. Also, you must note that correspondence must be written on the same line as the name of the institute.

Have a look at the link for better understanding.

Hi people,

In filling my WES application form, I selected UK as the country for my ACCA degree. However, someone advised me to select Nigeria for my ACCA degree when filling my profile to avoid CIC having to request that I provide a UK police report.

Is it an issue if I select Nigeria in my profile which contradicts the UK that is in my WES evaluation report?

Did you get a specific reason for your denial? Don't they just give a generic denial letter to everyone? Please do tell me how to get more info on US Visa refusal.
Thanks

This is really scary....I applied for US visiting visa in 2015 which i was denied on the ground of not having strong ties to my home country but in my application I claimed I was married to my then fiancee(We didn't marry eventually) but now I'm married to someonelse...can this lead to misrepresentation?every other thing was good except that married part..
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by pillys: 9:49pm On Sep 28, 2018
You had better cool down and don't give yourself unnecessary heart-attack. Firstly, the NIM certificate we get during NYSC is just a student affiliation. You therefore are not a full member of NIM. It even shouldn't have been on the US application.

Secondly, the issue of misrepresentation is in the context of trying to beat the system. Here is a brief info on CIC site of misrepresentation and fraud:

Document Fraud (Misrepresentation)
It is a serious crime to lie, or to send false information or documents, to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). This is fraud. It’s called “misrepresentation.”

Document fraud can involve either false or altered documents, such as:

passports and travel documents
visas
diplomas, degrees, and apprenticeship or trade papers
certificates of birth, marriage, final divorce, annulment, separation, or death and
police certificates
If you lie on an application or in an interview with an IRCC officer, this is also fraud. It is a crime.

If you send false documents or information, we’ll refuse your application. We could also:

forbid you from entering Canada for at least five years
give you a permanent record of fraud with us
take away your status as a permanent resident or Canadian citizen
have you charged with a crime or
remove you from Canada

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/protect-fraud/document-misrepresentation.html

I hope this helps you.

JonJon2017:
Please advice... 3 years ago, while applying for my US visa, theres a place they asked if I had any professional certificate, and I selected yes and filled N.I.M (Nigeria Institute of Management). Its one certificate that they gave us during NYSC. I later realised that the certificat wasnt really usefull ti me, so I stopped including it in my C.V. Wgile filling the Canadian application form, there is a place they also asked if I belong to any professional body, and I indicated NO. Now, being that Canada and the US govt share info, do I need to upload this NIM certificate via webform? So that its not seen as misrepresentation.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by pillys: 7:24pm On Sep 25, 2018
Okay. That's fine. But do you think a first cousin might fly in this category or one should just limit it to strictly the family category listed.

Cheers.

Tojued:
This is the question they ask : do you have a relative in Canada who's a PR or citizen?

They don't ask : do you have a relative in Canada whom you can prove you're related to?

I only said what I'd do if I were in such shoes... Based on others' experiences the VO would simply deduct the 5 FSW points since you're unable to establish relationship. But all n'a still my opinion sha.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 5 by pillys: 6:18pm On Sep 25, 2018
Are you entirely sure about this? Remember, he is asking if he needs to include her in his EE application. That means points will be awarded for this. And this needs to be backed by documents. Just being careful here.

Tojued:
If i were you i'd say yes. Then upload LOE on how we are not in touch and I don't have her approval to add her to my application, in the placeholder for relatives in Canada. But be sure whether you're still eligible without her five points before doing this.

Reason why i'd say yes is that it always feels like lying when you answer no to that question: do you have any relatives in Canada? if you actually have relatives. Na just fear of misrepresentation sha.

Hello guys,

Please I do want to know if there is a general format for the reference letter or is it specifically worded for each applicant? This is so that one can get it at hand before the stage that one needs it.

Thank you guys.

Please guys,
can I request my PCC from the UK as I did my MSc there? However, I am wondering if there is a validity period, provided I did not visit the UK after requesting it. Please advice. I have read some where that provided someone does not visit the country after the request was made, it still remains valid. Now I read here again that PCC is valid for 6 months. Please lets be clear and specific about our questions and answer to avoid doubts. Thanks in advance for responses.
If you have lived in a country in the past, your PCC issued after leaving is valid until you decide to re-visit that country. However, if you are still living in the country or you got a PCC before you left the country, then you need a PCC issued within the last 6 months. I think that explains it.

It's sad that when it was time to make a like for like comparison(total number of northerners reign vs total number of SW reign) you decided to use 1999-date.

Just to suit your write-up. Please come up with a better write up next time and stop being a shady person right from your article

When he was first elevated to the status of Acting President on 19 January 2017, Professor Yemi Osinbajo embarked on a tour on Niger Delta region. His entourage included Minister of State for Petroleum, Ibe Ikachukwu; Minister of State for Agriculture, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, as well as the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs. A move seen as a welcomed development by the good people of Niger Delta who saw it as a new chapter to finding lasting solution to the seemingly unending Niger Delta question. Not one of the rhetorical promises made to the people of Niger Delta by Acting President Osinbajo was ever fulfilled or rather, is yet to be fulfilled.

Some of us, however, suspected that the Osinbajo was neither interested in proffering solution to the Niger Delta question but to start a clandestine move to build his political capital ahead of 2019 Presidential election having read his body language.

As Vice President and sensing that President Buhari is/may be medically unfit to stand for re-election in 2019, Professor Yemi Osinbajo shifted his attention to build network in the north all for 2019.

On Thursday April 13, he went to Adamawa state to acquire the title of "Jagaban of Adamawa Emirate". Only yesterday, he went to Cross river state to collect another traditional title in Efik kingdom, Ada Idaha Ke Efik Eburutu. For what reason if not political?

While I recognize that the Nigeria Constitution gives Yemi Osinbajo the right to contest for any office, including the Presidency, I must also state that his clandestine moves to succeed Muhammadu Buhari in 2019 is counterproductive to the interest of Nigerians and threat to the unity of our country, this is aside his sheer incompetency in public service since he assumed office as Vice President, Chairman of National Planning Commission and Chairman of National Economic Council.

This article is not to talk about his preference for employing only people of his Yoruba ethnic group as Personal Aides, all these are stories for some other time. This article is strictly about the injustice that his Presidency will mean to the rest of the country if we allow it to materialise.

1. HIS PRESIDENCY IS UNJUST TO THE SOUTH
In the history of Nigeria, the Southwest and Yoruba nation have led the country for a combined period of 11 years and 11 months; Chief Olusegun Obasanjo held sway for 11 years and 8 months (8 years as President and 3 years and 8 months as Military ruler) while Ernest Shonekan held sway for 3 months.

Meanwhile, the South-south only led Nigeria for only 5 years and 25 days through Goodluck Jonathan, while the Southeast has NEVER led the country in Executive capacity save the 7 months under the military reign of General Aguiyi Ironsi.

Under this present democratic dispensation, SW and Yoruba nation has led the country for 8 years and has been occupying the Vice President office since 2015.

The Southsouth led the country for only 5 years and 25 days and occupied the office of Vice President for 3 years through Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.

The Southeast has neither produced the President nor the Vice President.

Being a multi-ethnic region, it will be highly unfair for one region and ethnic group to seek to occupy the slot of the South in the Presidency in 2019 irrespective of whether it is the office of the President or the Vice President. It will amount to injustice to the ethnic nationalities in the South save the Yoruba for Yemi Osinbajo to succeed Buhari in 2019..

2. HIS PRESIDENCY IS UNJUST TO THE NORTH:
Since the return of this democratic dispensation in 1999, while the South enjoyed power for a total of 13 years (SW 8, SS 5), while the north only did for 5 years and counting through late Umaru Musa Yar’adua (3 years) and Muhammadu Buhari (2 years and counting). If the status quo remains till 2019, the north will haul a meager combined period of 7 years; a far cry when compared with the 13 years that the South held sway.

It is both morally and politically just that the North be allowed to produce the President of Nigeria come 2019 for another 4 years period. We must realize that injustice is injustice anywhere. Allowing Osinbajo, a Yorubaman/Southerner to succeed Buhari in 2019 will only cause disaffection among those in the northern part of the country. There will be feelings of marginalization will crept in. This is a situation the country cannot afford to entertain at this period.

MY SUPPORT FOR NORTH/SOUTHEAST TICKET IN 2019
Nigeria belongs to everybody, it does not belong to a section of the country. While it is fair for power to remain in the north, it is also fair for the Southeast to be part of the equation after years of absence. The only way to allow justice prevail is for a North/Southeast Presidency in 2019.

This arrangement, I strongly believe will calm the nerves of the people of the Southeast, give the Igbo people a sense of ownership in the Nigeria project and a sense of belonging in the affairs of Nigeria.

The Yoruba nation has always stood for justice, I am optimistic that they will stand for what is right come 2019. I have no doubt in my mind that they will not oppose the aspiration of a credible aspirant from the northern extraction and an Igbo man to assume the office of the President and Vice President respectively in 2019.

May God Bless Us All And Bless Nigeria

I think you should still keep your hope alive for the fact that you are attending interviews. There are people with 2.1 who don't even make that stage.
I would suggest you use your strengths more often on your interviews.
To be honest, I wouldn't say going to America is good or bad. Different strokes for different folks, but I would tell you that you should be prepared to face stiffer competition even when you regularize your status. Escaping out of Nigeria is just the beginning and if you plan on staying illegal, which is very much possible, you must be top notch in your game if you really want to make it make something out of that country.

I sure know how it feels in your situation but there's one thing you must forget: if you determined in any condition, you can succeed. The hustle is real my brother. #bless.
