hi at pilotoz please can u highlight me the process of becoming a truckdriver at Canada ,my husband is driving truck in Nigeria and planning of coming to Canada please can u help me with necessary documents needs for that thanks.

In order to obtain work in Canada, foreign worker must obtain Canadian
work permits which require a Labor Marketing Opinion (LMO). An LMO is a
labour market verification process whereby Human Resources and Skills
Development Canada (HRSDC) assesses the offer of employment to ensure
that the foreign worker will not have a negative impact on the Canadian
labour market.
Generally speaking, for jobs located in Canada's major cities, the more
specialized the position and the higher the salary offered, the higher the
chances of obtaining a positive LMO. If trucking achieves the status of a
specialized job, this whole process will be expedited and made much easier.

Truck driving is really gud. for those asking where to learn.. the best tin to do is just to go to any truck stop in ur locality, approach any driver, make ur intentions known, softly, try and persuade him.. He may accept u as a motor boy.. then u learn frm d position.. so at the end of the month, he pays u a stipend for ur work and at the same time u learn how to drive.. within a yr or 2 u must av known the nigeiran routes and terrain and how to drive, then u can start asking ur oga about a possible balance and carry truck. just be deligent, dnt steal.. stealing is one tin most drivers hate about their motor boys.

Going through this topic/post,had to pause, look to the ceiling with teary eyes-- don't know if it will be right of me to ask for a second chance or not.

I loved mathematics like crazy, wanted to study mechanical engineering, but was offered Industrial Chemistry. The pains of spending another year at home with my parents was too much for me to handle, had to accept the admission offer.

First year, had a gp of 4.03 (wanted to do faculty transfer, but my HoD wasn't around to sign me out on time, coupled with other processes). Second year,3.98 gp. Third year, oops! My gp came crashing down to 3.00 (at this time, chemistry was so boring and looked abstract) while in my final year,my gp was worse(cried bitterly). Had to settle for 2.2.

For almost 6months before my youth service,i had lost touch with reality (fear of facing my parents with the 2.2).

But here i am now, though unhappy, looking for ways to redeem time having missed several opportunities; had to settle for a pdg in Chemical engineering, and afterwards seek for MSc.

What i am trying to say is this; 'know thyself' and 'never you sacrifice your happiness for anything'.

Thanks xfire.
hmm touching.. I for one have little interest in chemistry, always skipped chem classes @sec skul, and the demons i was avoiding in chemistry has come back to haunt me @ university level. The tin im doing is just to develope interest for it n i knw i'll av a gud grasp of it soon.

still in my first year and so far d going has been good in statistics,i was tinking of changing course but i heard changing of course is a "wild goose chase" especially if u're planning to change to an engineering course....
this is a tight one. If u cant cross over, then do very well in ur current course. blast it very well finish strong. And see hw numerous opportunities will come. But if u still want engine real bad, take jamb again and ace it with serious jacking. All in all we shud follow the OP's advice of beign serious in our academic pursuit.

Travel / Dad Cant Afford Plane Ticket, Mails Himself To Australia by PilotOz(m): 7:45am On Mar 13, 2015
Things were so much simpler in the 1960s. There were three channels on
television, a doctor could deliver a baby without removing the cigarette from
his mouth and a down-on-his-luck dad could successfully mail himself
halfway around the world. Plane ticket? What plane ticket?
In 1964, Reg Spears was a world champion javelin thrower, but the Australian
learned that didn't come with a lot of perks like, say, steady work or a
paycheck. He was stuck in the United Kingdom, desperate to get back to
Australia to see his young daughter on her birthday, but couldn't figure out
how he could ever afford the trip. During a night drinking with fellow javelin
thrower John McSorley, they got the idea that Spears could just ship himself
back, inside an oversized wooden box that he could build himself.
Like most ideas that happen over too many drinks, this one was terrible. But
it worked. Spears had been working in the cargo area of an airport, so he
knew a lot of insider information. The pair built a 5′ x 3′ x 2'6″ crate (the
maximum size that could be shipped), fitted with straps for him to hang on to
and designed to open at either end so he could get out and walk when he'd
been safely loaded inside the plane. He packed some provisions including
his passport, a change of clothes, canned spaghetti, bottled water and some
candy, climbed into the box and McSorely drove him to Heathrow airport
(Spears used the empty bottles and cans to pee in. We know you were
curious).
The trip was almost a disaster from the start, after heavy fog delayed flights
out of London for a full 24 hours. He was flown from London to Paris to
Bombay, where he was left on a tarmac in the hot sun (and upside down) for
hours before being loaded back onto yet another plane. After an unscheduled
fuel stop in Singapore, he made it to Perth, 63 hours and 13,000 miles from
Heathrow. The box was placed in a cargo shed, but Spears found some tools,
cut a hole in the wall and climbed out. He changed into his clean clothes,
pulled out his passport and walked out of the airport.
After hitchhiking from Perth to his home in Adelaide, he surprised his family.
The only mistake he made was forgetting to let McSorley know that he'd
arrived; McSorely called a reporter friend and there was a massive-for-the-
time media circus that picked up on Spears' story. The hardest part, he said,
was convincing his wife that he was telling the truth.
She didn't believe me. But then she thought about it and thought 'He must
have done it, how else did he get here?' So eventually she rode with it.
Spears is now 73 and still lives in Australia after spending several decades
(and a couple of prison stints) as a drug smuggler. Say what you want about
him, but the man knows how to pack. SOURCE--- http://www.news10.net/story/news/weird/2015/03/12/dad-cant-afford-plane-ticket-mails-himself-to-australia/70215446/

U wont start seeing profit immediately when u're starting frm rock bottom.. becos most of the money u get frm the pupils will go back straight as capital for the growth of the school.. so u'll be looking at nearly half a decade or more before u will start seeing real profits... Thats why i said it takes great deal of patience... Since u said u wanna touch lives, its gud to have this type of orientation becos u will be better prepared for the long journey... the only way u can see profit as quick as possible in the business is when u have lots of millions to build an A-list school located in a busy environment with lots of staff and serious publicity and advertisment.. So since u dnt av the millions, just start very small. and since u're an NCE grad, u probably did EDU 124(CHILD FRIENDLY SCHOOL) so wen u're expanding, u will have a better knowledge in sustaining the school and making it standard, and ahead of ur competitors.

Starting a school requires not just fund, but a high level of deligence, humility and patience... Williams and others have said it all, Start small and grow big. In my area, there's the lady that started 3 yrs ago with just wood and zinc... she started the low cost building as a home lesson where primary school pupils can go on saturdays and during the holiday. And she was equally preparing basic 5 for their common entrance... There was a small free land, and she just rented the space frm the owner. And she started the building.. She's expanding gradually.. And its now a full school with basic 1-5 and kindergattern. There's a small play ground with see-saw and other swings, And this lady is so commited to the work.. she started very small, and nobody thought she will still remain in the business becos the work load was nerve wracking... Now she has staffs... she started with employing SSCE graduates... Just start small... And grow big

Yes, in 100 and 200 level you will do a lot of chemistry (both organic & inorganic). This is because you will take courses in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Enzymology, Metabolic Pathways and Genetics which require a sound knowledge of chemistry.
Thank u for d info... It seems BCH overlaps in MCB.

It's not about the course you studied it's about acquiring additional certificates like PGDE (Post Graduate Diploma in Education) if you studied a 'non-educational course', M.Sc and PhD with God's help the sky is your starting point.
thanks sir

It all depends on what you want to be in life. I always wanted to be a lecturer (mission accomplished), so I could have studied any course provided I continue to at least PhD (which I did). If you want to work in the hospital/lab then go for SLT/MCB/BCH + NISLT. If you want to be in the industrial sector then Chemistry is better. But if you have people in high places then study any course, you can get any job. All things being equal professional courses are better (BCH/MCB r not professional courses) but u can always take certificate courses to professionalize. Get additional certificate(s), beside 1st degree and u'll always have advantage over others (all things being equal).

Chemistry is better than MCB and BCH while MCB is better than BCH but you can go for BCH if you really wanted medicine but couldn't get it.
Hello sir, i equally want to be a lecturer im passionate about it... And im currently anNCE Student, pls sir, which course should i major in to improve my chances of getting a lecturer position or even a graduate assistant for a start?? Am at cross roads choosing between an educational course like Bsc(ed) Biology or a non educational course like Bsc Microbiology.
