There's no excuse to be poor in this life... And this thread is very educative. The economy is so messed up, that even a cert is nt enuff to get one out off the mess... There r several business one can go into, regardless of ur background or personality. Im a yr 2 student in a college of edu in Edo, But immediately after graduation, im going to learn hw to drive trucks. I see most graduates complaining of no capital to start up sumtin.. Their problem isn't really lack of capital, but they lack a gud saving habit, and fear of doing sumtin "too low for a graduate" Hmmm... When i did my first poultry business, i packed up birds droppings, got stained, and dirty frm taking care of their house, but 4 more months later when i was counting the money made frm sales, men.... I was like "im ready to get dirty again for this" So we all shud be ready to take the bull by d horn and do sumtin... If the pure water business is really profitable, No harm in doing it.... #man must hustle.

Truly inspiring... EGO AND PRIDE is really killing our Nigerian Graduates.... Only if they can put their head down and be creative and hardworking... Nigeria is very rich, and only those few that dared to follow the path less travelled by r the ones getting the CASH... #self employment rocks.

Yes I am utterly and awfully scared of what people would think. The thought of doing what I never imagined myself doing will kill me faster than not getting a job. It's easier for u to say but it's hard for me to do. Hmmmmn. Please u cannot understand where I am coming from so u can say whatever u want. What I want is a job. I have every reason to complain cus I am not getting it when I no I am more than qualified. I have been to interviews where I was told I am just so over qualified and they feel giving me this job will stifle my progress in life. I no what I want and a hand job is not what I want. It will be my last resort. I don't pray to get there. Thankyou.

Dear i knw a lil a bout u.... Some time a go, u gave a detailed background abt urself... Its well... i knw hw it feels like when u have someone that's highly connected and yet, u're nt getting the job u want.. But just knw that no matter the situation, u cannot afford to remain idle. PLS, DO NOT CARE abt what ppl think... Suen Osewa never cared abt what ppl thought when he dropped out as an undergraduate to pursue nairaland, many would have insulted and bashed him for leaving a hot course like "chem engineering" to pursue nairaland. Nw see where it's got him? He once thought chem engineering was for him, but he ventureed into ict, and there was where he made his big breakthrough... My dear, re-orientate urself... If u go out and see hw ppl who never thought they could do a particular thing r making it, u'll marvel. I have my own story too.. Dont limit urself, push urself hard, learning a handwork or doing a little paying job wnt be forever, u might want to settle with ur career(wen u finally land a job) or save up and invest in ur business. I took a high risk by travelling all the way frm benin to lagos to sell my precious Playstation 3 to start a poultry biz with N16K and made nearly N80K 4 months later.(the poulty farmers should knw what i mean) I never had any idea on poultry, i simply had 2 brilliant business partners and i learnt a lot frm them... DONT limit urself to just a job.

Feeling alone and unhappy. Avoiding people. The list is endless. The one I hate most is some people feel u are just being lazy. The idiots that say go and learn something as if they will give u money to go and learn. Some will say go and do masters, go and start buying and selling. As if they will give u money. Some will say u are choosy. Another will say start small. Start what small? The major problem is not laziness but background of job seekers. Job seekers who were hustlers in school, people who their parents added no value in their lives, who struggled in school already have that tenacity and will to do any kind of jobs. In Unilag I new girls who fix nails, do hair and the ones that carry aristos for a living. Had no help from family. The ones that carry aristos are d ones doing so well now and travel round the world and get married to one mugu. The ones doing handwork continue after school. While the rest, it's either their parents help them or they just sit and wait hoping for a breakthrough. You cannot compare such people who have been spoon fed by their parents which is actually the right thing to do, to start doing all sorts of menial jobs. We have all forgotten the very basis of going to school. The country wants to turn everybody to a daylight business woman or man. All my friends be make up artist, sell clothes and bags, perfumes, caterers and u say I should also do that and market to this same friends. Not everybody is wired to do business. Not everybody is wired to learn a handwork. Not everybody is meant to work in an office. cry frustration should not be the basis of going into anything. I have never seen anybody do well in something they have no love for......
you're fond of coming up with this whenever a thread of umemployment is opened. You have no idea how the human body can be wired to do anything. Your problem is the "fear of what people would think" (low self esteem) u care too much abt wat ppl tink. Which is a big hindrance to success. If one is umemployed, he or she should forget their background and any previous status quo and get down to learn sumtin relevant. You said where would money come to learn sumfin? Thats nt a big deal, becos there r many lucrative hand work one can learn for next to free. Infact if u cant raise money to learn a skill, then that person is damn too lazy. And who said u cannot teach? google is a frnd to learn the basics on teaching ethics. Going 2 skul shouldn't just be to get a job, Its to face challenges nd for self devt. With the right skill, hardwork, perseverance, and GOD, u can succed in anything u lay ur hand to do... u never knw wat u're capable of doinf until u try sumtin... Many ppl have succeded and r still succeding frm sheer hardwork even frm an empty bank acct. And dnt be afraid to make mistakes.

Football viewong centre business.. One match say arsenal vs manutd is N50. supposing u have a seating capacity of 500. Lets say 300 turn out to watch, then for a match u make 300 *50 which is 15000. There can be 2 big matches a week. that is N30000 a week. in a month its N120,000. u pay dstv subscription N14K monthly, land rent 2k monthly. u still have N104,000 monthly. subtract fuel expense and other miscellaneous. U will still have up to 6 digits. But ur initial cost (capital might be way over N500k to set up the biz.

Same tin almost happened to me one day in skul... During a Protest over lecturers unpaid salaries, i wanted to get some juicy shots and upload them on our school fb page. As i took out my phone , one guy with a long stick just came to me and said "guy wetin dey sup, u dey video us... bring that phone... Before i knew 2 other boys surrounded me.. i was like "omo see gobe" I just said in a shaky voice "bros no vex see, i don delete am" They warned me never to record or take pics during a protest!

wen u open ur books, pray for understanding. read in between lines, page by page, not once but repeatdely till u understand. close ur book and try to say wat u've read without looking at ur book. or jot it down. always pay attention in class, u can never be over charged... Just listen to the lecturer attentively becos the burden of comprehension is halved by just listening in class.. Horn ur reading skills by making it a hobby. There is need for rest and recreation to allow the brain assimilate. Have someone u can always discuss wat u've read with. He must also share goals with u.. This will give u a near holistic motivation you need to excel

In short, the reason why it has such a long chemical name is because it is a very big and very complex molecule. Every bit of it has to be named and all the bits attached to the main structure have to be named as well in the full systamatic chemical name.

You can appreciate it if you imagine all the bits of a car labelled the same way.
eg left headlamp bulb- left headlight-front bonnet- right headlamp bulb- right headlight - front bonnet - wheel nut 4 - left front wheel- left axle etc
I think that's enough to get the idea .. by the time you name every bit, down to the smallest screw and its exact position, you'd have an extremely long name.

choi, then we gotta give it to the chemistry students. Dem dey try

Then u can start discussing ur plans with those at the helm of affairs... Many A-list poiticians will visit ur secetariat or comunity meeting soliciting for votes, etc. offer to campaign for them. As long as they r trust worthy. Im sure if u're consistent, one Politician will endorse u for his party.. as a party member... Then cotinue the good work... speak to them on wat u can do.. let them knw u're educated and u r dedicated to the cause.. Humility takes ppl places... ur consistency might just give u a quick rise frm beign just a party member to beign endorsed and recommended for a chairman role, frm there ur chances of beign nominated for local govt chairman gets higher. As long as ur are credible and ur past records and works shws who u are as an upright man. Engage ursef more with politics, become more knowledgeable, use ur own funds to do the little things u can maybe by providing chairs and other things for ur first community meeting. Be more consistent, and u might just win local govt chairman (as long as the community u helped in ensuring thier transformer works kws u, nd r willing to vote for u...

Thats nice... I for onw have political ambitions.. Well u have to start frm the bottom.. i mean rock bottom... Ur educational background will surely give u an edge.. Join a local meeting in ur neighbourhood... You must have seen a party secetariat or any community meeting with heavy presence of politics... Offer to be their secetary for a start, do lots of writing for them, They'll value u when u write minutes, prepare speech for influential figures, and all... Be consistent, And knw hw things r beign done... Engage urself in comunity work. EG if the street transformer gets bad, bring ideas in which it can be repaire either by house to house donation or going to PHCN... Be active with the community, let them knw u can be trusted.. With this, ppl will always recommend u.
