[quote author=shymexx]I posted a comment on a thread today using "Negroes" to describe black people - and Nigerians have been chatting nonsense about it... It's laughable because the word "negro" actually means black - and it's an old school word... Funny enough, most of the greatest African Americans referred to themselves as Negroes - and the clamour for the disuse of the word started during the surge of Afrocentrism in America... And those who clamoured for the disuse are the same people most Nigerians refer to as confused lots and racist-blacks/black-supremacists who just want a connection to the Africa... It just shows that most Nigerians are hypocrites - they only slag people when it suits their agenda... Pathetic people, I tell ya... O boy, u need to update ursef o, cuz English words change rapidly. Beside, u got it wrong to say dt blacks use d word NEGRO, 4 ur info. It was d wight who generate d word negro nd dy refer it to d black in a way to muck dem. That was wen slavery was still at it peek. Peeps like Leopold sender sengor create a movement called negritude. It was used to counter d western ideology on racism. Check six edition of oxford,u won't see d word negritude,bt is there in 7 edition. If u check d meaning of negro in old dictionary,it'll tell u dt it refers to black peeps. While the latest edition dictionaries will tell u dt is an offensive word/racism. I actually used it sometimes ago wen I was writing a poem, but thnk God I checked my phone 4 dictionary meaning. Note dt the word negro is been used to mock blacks in diz contemporary period. Plz stop using it. |
[quote author=shymexx]Brother don't bother with these people - arguing with them is like arguing with a table, that's how their thought process is... Most of them are the CNN generation who just spew nonsense... The same clowns would come here tomorrow and label Afrocentric AAs who described the word as offensive and a way to deny them a connection to Africa as black supremacists or racists... They are hypocrites!! Negro is just a word, there's nothing offensive about it... - However, ni.gger(a different word) is deemed offensive because of the stigma attached to the way it was used during slavery e.g the ni.gger chants during lynching etc... Bro...u may tin u got it rit. That word was used in doz days. Presently, blacks in d west sees it as offensive word. Because of dt there has been a restriction in d use of d word cuz is be termed wit racism. |
[quote author=looplat]abeg yorubaland need border control before these okoro returnees from ala-hausa start flocking to yorubaland. okoros omo-Igbo, yoruba land don dey congested make una stay for alaigbo. U nd ur frustrated generation. |
Why are d christians in d north waiting 4 help 4rm d govt? They should also kill d Muslims so long as they tried to attack dem. |
[quote author=Toaskarity]its soo shamefull you are the only one using this nNegroes evrywhere on nl internet that can be searched and how funny you claim you live in england. Atimes i wonder if you really understand what it means and how country like america and co are trying hard to get ride of the word. you may be using it wit the thought dat u re right jst because you re black! thats not true there are people who really pass thru it and some of them still alive. Respect them!! even most site dont let ppl use it! if this was yahoo and you use it, you will have so much thumbs down that the word will be hidden! it shows you shld never use it no matter what! same thing with kkk etc. i know this is long and out of topic but i have seen you use that word many times here, a word you never pass thru neigther do ur great grand father!! if you are so angry or mad about nigeria, yoi can put ur finger on the keyboard and type monkeys or illitrates etc i promise u its more annoying though thats only what weak ppl like u can offer the country. Nice one. But wht doz kkk stand 4. Cuz peeps use kk most time while chatting. Is there any diff. B/w kkk nd kk? |
[quote author=ANALIST]The issue here is not where one should live but all Nigerians should be able to live and enjoy all the benefits of Nigerian riights anywhere;North,South,East Or West. This is the most fundamental and obligation of every government. Let's live and grow together. U r from which state? Cuz it seems u don't know wht z happening in Nigeria. |
One of d reason why I like Ojukwu is dt he is d man witout fear. He has 4seen d future of Igbo peeps. these was why he called on Igbo peeps to come nd invest in there homeland. It is quiet glaring dt d northerners do not want d Igbo including other tribes. I'm from Edo state and I was so amaze to see my peeps building beautiful houses. I believe dt in due time, many company will come nd invest in my place. I beg Nigerians (non housa) to leave north for doz so called bastards. I don't even know wht they v dt make peeps go there in d first place. Let us all go back to our zone/state nd make it a better place 4 our children. I'm sure dt d housa dt are in support of dis will regret their mistakes in a very short time. IGBO!!!... u guys shud go and make ur land a better place. Is so bad to see Igbo man who has more dan 6 houses in Lagos not to talk about oda states. If u believe there is unity in Nigeria, it means u r on a long tin. ask urself dis question, why is it dt 4 doz dt are not yoruba, they find it difficult to rent a house in d west/Lagos. Most landlords in lagos will never rent out their house to u once u are nt a Yoruba man. Let's not help odas to develop there land. |
Dr Evariscus Azoma, a consultant urologist with the Chivar Clinic and Urology Centre in Abuja, has advised men to go for regular prostate cancer screening to ensure early detection. Azoma gave this advise on Friday in Abuja. According to him, early detection of cancer would prevent the disease from spreading and becoming complicated for treatment. He disclosed that most men were at risk of prostate cancer, while admitting that there were specific risk factors that could trigger the disease which include family history, age and diet, among others. He recommended that men who are above 45 years should endeavour to go for prostate cancer screening annually. “There is a rising incidence of cancer globally, with developing countries such as Nigeria bearing much of the burden. “Prostate cancer starts in the prostate gland. The prostate is a small, walnut-sized structure that makes up part of a man’s reproductive system. “Some of the symptoms include the need to urinate often, especially at night, an intense and urgent need to urinate, as well as difficulty in starting or stopping the urine flow. “Other symptoms are the inability to urinate, weak or decreased or interrupted urine stream, a sense of incompletely emptying the bladder, burning pain during urination, blood in the urine or semen, and painful ejaculation,’’ Azoma said. He however advised that the risk of having prostate cancer could be reduced by making healthy choices such as exercising and eating healthy diet such low-fat diet and eating more fat from plants than from animals. The urologist also advised that fruits and vegetables should be taken each day, while consumption of dairy products should be reduced. It will be recalled that the National Foundation for Cancer Research recently estimated that 241,740 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed in 2012 alone.(NAN) |
Sorry dear! But d fact is dt is better u do d crying tins now rather dan to let ur children face d consequence of ur action. The reason why I'm still single is as a result of AS tin,nd am ready to move on wit life. I'll nt advice u to go on wit d relationship even if u v d money 2 spend, cuz it could be dangerous. I bet u dt u will get somebody who is far better dan him. |
I believe in d guy's prediction. If only we could work hard towards constant power supply nd empower d barbers, small shops etc. This will automatically reduce unemployment, arm robbery etc. According to the prophet TB Joshua, he said "beyond this perilous time there will be a great Nigeria". |
