Congrats Onye Oma. When was your interview? When did you fund and what city are you heading to? These questions help alot of nairalanders track their application. Although we are aware some cities are quick to respond in alien matters.

Sorry for keeping silent for a while but the waiting was like torture.
A big thank you to all those contributing on this thread... I have been following this thread since September 2016 after I heard a small gossip from our landlord's son who was bragging about his sister traveling to Germany. After 1 bottle of Origin & a plate of bitterleaf soup my informant started singing grin

Despite the odds I made it!!..To all those pursuing the Germany dream God's favour and grace "fall on you"
I'm available for questions...

The German Embassy is the key if you can certify your documents there because all schools accept documents certified there. Alot of schools also take documents certified in High court which should be the cheapest for you. Notary public can also notarize your documents which will also be acceptable anywhere but could make you spend some bucks. The decision is yours.

Immafrank:

Pls I want to ask a question.
I talked to a friend studying in Germany concerning the photocopies of my documents I will be sending by post to the school which must be certified. he said certification is done only by the German embassy. Pls where did u certify your own?

Go ahead to book for interview, theres no harm in trial. Or you can proceed to differ your admission for summer semester.

Same VO that interviewed me and same questions. She likes to hurry you to go straight to the point but keep calm and deliver your point gradually.

Karch:

@magnificient7 :
Well, it seems your interview went well. Also had my interview but it wasn't a German VO. She also asked me same questions too but didn't give me any sheet of paper to fill. She said I should go straight to the point at first, so I knew I had to summarize my speech throughout. She also asked me about my sponsor and his/her occupation. She asked me about my Bsc Project and I should even discuss it in details o. Finally she asked me my project grade.

There's high possibility you ll get a positive response. Go ahead with your preparations, your AM mail arrives soon. Relax, the delay in time is normal.

Emmiefadz:
Please house,I have a question to ask.
I had my interview on 18th of last month for student visa application at the german consulate lagos.
I funded my blocked account a week.after and submitted the confirmation.
I haven't received any information from them ever since.
I hope the time frame is still ok?
I intend to resume for masters by October...

Thanks for the ideas I have been gathering here

Congratulations Nwanne.

Pls kindly share your interview transcript with us so those awaiting interview can get familiar with the recent mode of questions to expect. Was it for Bsc or Msc? Where you told to write SOP or any kind of test?

slim4jesus:
Hi guys,

My AM mail arrived this morning.

I had my interview on July 13, provided blocking confirmation on July 31.

For those trying to purchase travel insurance. I did mine with Ensure Insurance today for N20k (6 months). They processed it and sent me a soft copy in about three hours.

Special thanks to Henry Okolie for his assistance through the process, and to everyone providing updates and responding to people's questions.

Here is wishing everyone awaiting appointment date, sourcing for funds or waiting to be interview, the very best.

Cheers!

Could it be that the german consulate is acting on an order from berling? If so, your so called emotional mails may not move them at this time but I still believe in the power of prayers and miracles though. Anyone who can can a sponsorship letter from germany can go ahead and do so immediately, maybe they can consider that and give you a date according to the info on their website. Nevertheless, summer is another prospective semester if you can differ your admission. Few weeks ago we read the testimony of a summer applicant that couldn't make it but was able to differ his admission and applied for visa this winter. He was one of the first students issued visa this winter.

heybaby12:
I guess it's enuf, We should take a chill pill. Please

This is an open forum. I was once asked by the CBP if I get advice from Nairaland, there are some laws and policies in place for issues like this.

The German embassy is just a pcs of Germany in Nigeria, we can't bend their hands to do otherwise.

Other countries **** **** **** take your money, give u an appointment date, you travel from. Point A to B, undergo the interview, face the stress and preparation anxiety only for them to bounce you later. (heart breaking)

Let's keep cool things will get better. So we don't use our hand to close the road others have past through smoothly.

I got same type of waec card that was just a piece of paper where the pin was written. I couldnt find any card type of it in bank. I only used it to print the online waec print out result. Hoping to explain to VO after submitting the printout. No one has said he was asked about scratch card during visa interview.

SleekAB:
Hi peeps!

Hope all's well with everyone. Many thanks to all who have been providing relevant information regarding this student visa process... You are highly appreciated.

My interview is coming up next week, and I'm still putting stuff together in readiness for my date with destiny... grin Two of the requirements are currently giving me plenty wahala. I'm quite confused on how to go about fixing them and would appreciate your kind responses on what to do to resolve them.

First off, the matter of the Motivation Letter. I'd like to know if there's any standard format to follow in writing one. Is there a maximum length (say two A4 pages?), or is it as the spirit leads?

Second, is the prepaid envelope we're required to submit. I was at the FedEx office at Allen yesterday, and the lady I met told me it's one thousand naira to obtain one, that she had sold some already. Fear catch me well well because I've read on this platform that it's 7K if one purchases from FedEx. I was confused because I thought the purpose of the envelope is to ferry the documents to Germany and back. 1K seemed to cheap to me.

Helpful responses (especially from those who've been through this process already) to the queries above will be highly appreciated.

Thank you!

P.S. I went to a 'Business Centre' to get the scratch card, but I was given some pieces of paper with digits on it. I promptly declined until I get proper clarification too.

Dear HonourableSeyi,

pls what are the key questions and answers in visa interview that must be answered properly for guaranteed visa interview success?

honourableseyi:

Just write the year in the CV and worry not about the date. Either you remove it or not, the VO will definitely ask what you are doing presently. Just write "NYSC : 2016 - 2017 shikena. You can do the rest with your mouth during interview incase you get to the "what are you doing presently" part of the interview. Shalom

From experience of others so far, the Embassy permits you to hand over the account confirmation details at interview time, then you can go ahead to fund the account after interview. The earlier the better. But If you can fund before Interview, then there are chances your visa processing time will be shorter than the guy who didnt fund.

You copy?
