tuji31:Hihi All those reasons they are giving are just their way of telling you to pay fees or show you have NZD15,000. And also to tell you that they don't recognize PTDF scholarship as a funding body. I support what hausalander says, get $15,000 into your account or get an individual who has to sponsor you. You can add the PTDF as part of your supporting documents. If you have an acceptance form/letter of the PTDF award, you can attach that as well. Hope this helps. Goodluck on your next application |
Yes I was there Ticha: |
For the bank account: You can open one through migrant banking with any of the major banks but they'll require your visa before processing. No visa no processing For accommodation, You can get your Uni accommodation (shared or single room or whichever you like) or ask them about their temporary accommodation arrangement. You can also check online via trademe or facebook: flatting in auckland but its best you see the place before making any payments. So if you don't want uni accommodation, I'll advise you stay in any of these neat backpackers or hostel (eg YMCA or YWCA) for the first 1-2weeks while searching for a place. You can use agents as well but be aware that there'll be some fees beside your rent and bond. I'm not so good with NZ accommodation anyway but I hope this helps. You're on PTDF so you won't have wahala. ![]() tuji31: |

Good news people. My visa application was approved and I'll be in Auckland in next month. The only hitch now is accommodation. Any ideas?! I'm currently trying to arrange a temporary accommodation with the Uni but was given backpackers as an option. Any idea of a backpackers that has a minimum of one per room cos I can can't seem to find it. Pls help. |
I haven't been contacted and I don't think anyone has been yet. At least for applicants from Nigeria. Makpenen: |
Please what is the best flight route or airline to Auckland from Nigeria? Trying to book a flight but I am confused? My plan is to arrive in July, God willing. |
hi Makpenen, offers of admission have validity period. If you will get a response from NZ scholarship before that validity period expires, then you can wait. But if you won't, then it will be wise to accept the offer. I equally applied for NZ scholarship. Mine is the NZDS. Is yours the same? Makpenen: |
Thanks abujaniv. The response was really helpful. On the third aspect, the person's travel history is just to Ghana and more than 5years ago. I hope that will not be an issue. The person was also rejected a UK Visa more than five years ago too. Any advice abujaniv: |
Hello VO, Please I have three questions: 1. My B1/B2 visa expired in 2015, March 2015 precisely. Please can I apply via dropbox method? 2. if a family needs to apply for visa, can they fill the DS-160 form as a group and can they also apply as a group? 3. A family of 4 (parents and two adult children) wants to go on vacation this summer in US, one of children is not working at the moment but has been prior to this. As a family, they have a vacation package, that is accommodation is secured, and together, can support this one member who is not working at the moment. Please, does he stand a chance; will this situation negatively affect their application because we all need the vacation? Kindly address. Thank you |
To the best of my Knowledge, this is not true. They do give direct admission to international students. Although you have to be eligible to gain such. Their masters program is in two parts: taught and research. You can choose if you want to study for 1-yr, 18-months or 2years but I'm not sure this option covers all their Masters programmes. Taught masters is made up of taught courses and may include a research project. You must have completed an undergraduate program from any recognized university with good grades. I read that some may require work experience so check the postgraduate site properly. For a research masters, you must have completed a postgraduate diploma from the university or a postgraduate taught qualification from any recognized university and you will need a supervisor. I guess this is the origin of your question. Please note that not all masters programme have these options. My advice, go through the POSTGRADUATE website properly, both general and the departmental of your institution of interest. Also check the FAQs page of the proposed institution. If you still are not satisfied with the information, DO NOT HESITATE to contact the graduate studies secretary and postgraduate students information desk or however they call them. You can also ask them for information on supervisors. Best of luck BiggyB242: |
Thanks a lot. From the day they received my application it's more than 25working days. However, from the day they received my additional information, it isn't up to 25days. So I'll wait, if I don't hear from them after then, I'll write them. By the way, how is Auckland at this time of the year? Any heads up information on weather, people and life generally. solomoncater: |
Please I applied for NZ visa for studies in University of Auckland in Feb 2017 and was contacted for further information in last week of February which I provided. I haven't heard from them since then. Should I write them again or just keep holding on? For me, I'm think I should continue being patient but I need advice from people with experience in this regard like @solomoncarter and some others I've read. Is this my decision wise because the validity period for enrollment will end in by April 3rd. Will writing them adversely affect my application. Thanks |
