famayo: Sorry for this. But i expect medical personnel to be extra vigilant at this period by using PPE when handling patient for any type of case,,whether Covid -19 or not. How come they were so careless to make themselves vulnerable to the deadly virus. Anyway I pray God will heal them asap. PPEs do not give 100 percent protection. The patient tested positive after discharge, hence the need to test all the staffs and decontaminate the hospital. Other patients might have had it and come to the hospital. Also, staff to staff transmission is there. We have also heard of how long the virus stays in surfaces and door handles. The staffs could have gotten it anywhere.. I personally don't think the mode of transmission of this coronavirus is fully understood. In all, i pray God grants speedy recovery to all those infected with this virus |

James150: You people are not doing good. nurses are selfish. What happens to those who just have RN through nursing school you people should please suggest where we can upgrade our certificate of nursing school (RN) to bsc abroad within a short time like in 1 year....tell us the name of the schools you don't. You don't encourage the young ones to grow Nobody owes you anything bro If you need an answer toyour inquiry, you ask politely. A lot of universities in the UK offer BSc Nursing top up program for 1year for already registered nurses. Do well to make Google your friend |

whuzmhan: Dear Nursing applicants, Here is a list of questions I was asked during my interview before the admission: *I was asked about my personal experience, as stated in my Personal statement *I was given case studies and asked few questions based on that. (How I would react in such situation) *I was asked to talk about a time i had an argument with someone *I was asked about leadership qualities and how well I have performed in such role (based on my CV)
Someone else I got know was asked different questions, like *A story on why he chose to study nursing (from personal statement) *Whether he has ever taken care of a sick person or vulnerable person
My advice, *Please read the NHS policies, the 6Cs of NHS, NHS code and NHS values. These helped me appropriate give answers to the questions *Read about recent trend in UK Nursing - latest happenings in UK Nursing *Know your personal statement very well, and if someone else assisted you one way or the other, learn how to personalize it. *Read about your school and know why you chose the school. Be interested in the school and know a lot about it
All the best Thank you for the info |

NurzCee: Register for "Adult Nurse", Our Midwifery here in Nigeria isn't really recognised there, unless you go through their own school of midwifery.. Thank you so much |

Abatemtem: From info on previous pages, the UK only accepts a licence only if you studied at least 3 years for it. Moreover, Midwifery is more of a post graduate/specialist area so your 18 months RM certificate wont suffice for it. Register an an Adult Nurse Thank you so much |

dora7891: I have heard of ppl having issues of getting a job after applying as a midwife, midwives are not on the shortage list in uk, meaning they are not really looking for midwives Thank you for your response Dora but that's not what I am asking. I want to know if it is possible to register for both nursing and midwifery or i should register for either one as i did postbasic nursing and basic midwifery. I don't want to make any errors whilst registering in the NMC UK website. Thank you so much |

NurzCee: First you have to be a registered nurse in Nigeria, before thinking of becoming a registered nurse abroad. OR you go to the country of your choice and study nursing directly. The invariably means you can't practice in Nigeria, moreover its super expensive Hi NurzCee, I am a registered basic midwife that did post basic nursing program (18 months). I already passed ielts and I am about to register in the NMC UK website. Should i register as an adult nurse or a midwife or is it possible to register for both as i am a little confused ? I will immensely appreciate your reply. Thank you |

Congratulations ma'am, wish you success in your OSCE. Please I want to ask a question. I have been a registered midwife since 2014 and I recently finished my post basic nursing. Hope it will not be a problem for me to start processing my application? Thank you! |
