Sports › Deontay Wilder Says He Wants To Fight Anthony Joshua In Africa by PoeticMind(op): 12:55pm On Oct 13, 2022 |
Deontay Wilder believes a bout with Anthony Joshua is still "the number one fight in the world" as he prepares to make his return to action on Saturday. Wilder, 36, last fought a year ago and faces Robert Helenius in New York on his comeback. The heavyweight's goal is to become world champion again, but Wilder also has big plans for a bout against Britain's Joshua. "I would love to do that fight in Africa," he told BBC Sport. "It's still the number one fight in the world for everyone. Everywhere I go, people always talk about me versus Joshua." There have been several classic heavyweight encounters in Africa, including Muhammad Ali's fight with George Foreman in Kinshasa in 1974. "We both have roots from there," Wilder explained. "I think it would be an amazing place to have it, to go back home. To go back to the motherland. A continent full of our people. I can just see that being an amazing fight, win, lose or draw. "I think we'll get the respect and love from all the people over there." Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/boxing/63228768@ semid4lyfe honeric01 Ijebabe nex

Isokiscool: An average yoruba man is very tribalistic..Makinde is working for his tribes man Tinubu and wike is foolishly following him.... You tribal bigots are part of the major reasons why Nigeria remains a shitty country because you would rather throw diatribes and pick useless fights rather than pursue collective action. |

pansophist: If you think you're broke, take a moment to reflect on other areas of your life that are not money-based such as freedom (not in prison), autonomy (not a debtor to someone), healthy (without an incurable disease), and young. Life is lived immaterially, and material things make it even more interesting.
I will rather be a twenty years old boy and broke as hell than be a billionaire at eighty (eg Carlos slim). Healthy and broke than to be sick and wealthy. Free and broke, than to be Hushpuppi and a prisoner. I only hope most people arrive at the truth that money is just an addition and not life in itself. I don't know you but feel like you and I are kin in spirit. Life in its true essence is immaterial. |

Karleb: At that age, Messi told Guardiola he wanted Ibrahimovic position because he was scoring so much and he got it. Ibra got sold.
Even though I don't believe in karma, this is karma. I Agreement wanted Ibra's position but don't ever make unsubstantiated claims about Messi not getting along with Ibra. The same Messi that gave penalty duty to Ibra in a game so he could get on the scoresheet? Even Ibra has severally said he is cool with Messi and his grouse was only with Pep. |

onoja12: People who haven't traveled the world wouldn't understand what is happening, in Brazil and Argentina blacks are second class citizen, it is open knowledge that Messi is a racist. what is going on is Messi and neymar had tried to get mbappe sold out of the club but God stood for him, he is delivering result while both of them cant, in my book Messi needs to leave that club. You meant the same Messi that supported Dembele when both his form and attitude were shifty and also too Ansu Fati under his wings at Barcelona? Una go just sidon dey talk anyhow... |
Christianity Etc › Re: Do You Fake Being A Christian As An Atheist In Nigeria? by PoeticMind: 2:02pm On Aug 14, 2022 |
Jennygold111: Atheist is not a belief. Is abstinence a sex position? You're are wrong actually because atheism by definition can either be described as a lack of belief in the existence of any deity or divine being or the belief that God(s) doesn't (do not) exist. I think the analogy you were looking to make applies more to religion vis-a-vis sex positions, and not to belief systems. Because even even a lack of belief in a concept is also a form of belief. |

Mind you, Tinubu is our incoming president You lots keep living in denial, I've traveled across a couple of states in the south (Anambra, Delta, Lagos) and North (Kwara) in the past one month and Peter Obi is massively popular amongstb the youth population every ethnic divide in all of these places. The biggest surprise for me was Kwara state where majority of people I interacted with or heard conversing, outrightly stated their disdain for anything APC in the coming election. So you can deny it or argue all you want, Peter Obi 's candidacy is, without a doubt, causing some serious headaches for both PDP and APC. |

Michael Johnson, a man I adored on the Sydney2000 even talked down on her time, that the clock perhaps malfunctioned....that is to tell you that if this tournament didn't hold in the US, they might have disputed the records.
I am proud of Tobi and her Jamaican coach. who herself is a former hurdler and Commonwealth Champion. Hmmmm.... |

Yeah, the Visa us genuine but the job offer is what's not confirmed. Please on what did you base your comment ? Do you have a firsthand knowledge or do you know someone who's resident there? He would likely be traveling next month, I hope I can find more answers for him to ensure he'd be making the right decision. |

pansophist: 800 euros monthly is way above average, over x3 basically. It's a good salary but he should check well that it's not scam. Did he got the visa from the embassy himself or through an agent?
Because Albania is geographically close to the EU doesn't makes it easier to cross into the EU. When I was there, I met lots of footballers (well they play football there because there is nothing to do really), and many wanna cross over but they just stucked there. Their situation there was not promising at all. If your friend ever make it there, he should visit rccg Church in Tirana, to mingle with the African community there.
To cross into the EU, he would need to still meet the same visa conditions like he would if he is in Nigeria, only advantage is that transportation to EU will be cheaper (either by bus/ferry) due to the short distance. If he has a good job there that pays well, good bank balance and a good employer, then yes getting a visa should not be that difficult. Thank you very much, I'll share these your inputs with him to enable him make further clarifications and make an informed decision. The visa was actually processed via an agent. But the Visa is legit as it was also confirmed on the Albanian e-visa website. However, he'd need to make further confirmation about the job |

dasparrow: You people keep going to very poor European countries with no economic prospects. Just because a country is populated by oyibo people does not mean life there is good.
Albania of all places. You think it is every country that is conducive to hustle in? If you cannot hustle within Africa where the people look like you, na for Albania, where the people are not used to Africans, that is where you want to go and "hustle." You don't even speak their language either. Some of you are just irredeemable. SMH. I share your sentiments too but he's insistent on "finding any way possible" to make a living since Naija hasn't smiled on him at all and things don't seem like they'll get better soon. The Visa is coming with a work permit and job offer, my enquiry is to know if the country is immigrant friendly and if he has any possibility of crossing over to mainstream Europe from there. |

pansophist: I was in Albania last year for holiday, it's a good place to visit but not to live. And I joke you not, if youre going there to hustle, then suffering awaits you there. I kid you not. You will suffer. A country where a huge percentage depends on remittance from Albanians abroad, and tourism because its warm in winter compare to the rest of Europe, almost every street corner you'll see money exchange. Thank you for this enlightening insights...the work permit he was given also comes with a job offer for €800 net monthly pay. In your opinion, do you think it's worth the stress considering your firsthand knowledge of the country? In addition is there ever any possibility of crossing over into and EU country, maybe Italy, from Albania? Thanks in advance for the anticipated response. |

Hello guys,
So a close friend just got a one-year work permit cum visa approval to travel to Albania for hustle.
I am trying to help him garner information on what living condition is like over there for immigrants, especially African migrants.
Anyone with useful information should please assist.
Thank you.
@Mods, please also help move to front page for more visibility and helpful inputs.

Jackson105: Shove your opinion your ass, no one needs it. 5% Folks like you are a disgrace to whatever tribe and political affiliation you claim. Nigeria's doom will not only be founded on the foundations of terrible leadership and mismanagement that have blighted this contraption; it will also be firmly rooted in the bigotry, political and tribal foolery exhibited by people like you. The sad part is that your likes are usually neither successful nor benefiting anything significant from the sickly state of Nigeria, yet you keep hemorrhaging your hate and ignorance, to feed the cancerous arteries of the divide and rule tactics that selfish politicians have strung across the country. You lots will get the leaders you deserve again if you continue this way, and both you and your kins will definitely be here and alive to enjoy the dividends. Trust me, many well meaning citizens are ashamed of people like you, whether, Yoruba, Ibo, Hausa, Efik etc., who thrive of the vitriolic expressions of hate and reading of tribal barbs.
