Literature / Religious Unrest by Poetree1x: 8:58pm On Dec 07, 2023
RELIGIOUS UNREST
The only manifestation of proselytization
In my country are heinous scenes of mass slaughter
Of the innocent in crusades of blood festivals

Where the blood lusting armies
Of Islam and Christianity
Massacre more than the mouth can recount

Religion is now a sable garment
Where political gurus and monks
Manipulate the gullibility of beliefs

Of blind fanatism
Of robotic remote incensing

Religion, the Pinnacle of self-styled peace
That does not permit the land a days sleep
Sharpening bigotry, prejudice and anarchy

Oh, behold the ethnic war lords!
Armed with flaming blades of deceitful Faith
The cudgels of blind belief systems
To promote selfish personal interest

And bludgeoning unity into discord
In charred dwelling places and cities
Burning bethels of worship
Roasting bowels of a weeping nation

From Jos to Kaduna, Lagos to Aba
There are no holy sanctuaries
As every infidel blood delight the Sabre
Wielded by bloody hands of religious calvaries.

Literature / The Wail Of A Frustrated Soul: "Oh Mr Doorman, I Knock" by Poetree1x: 7:12am On Dec 06, 2023
THE WAIL OF A FRUSTRATED SOUL: "OH MR DOORMAN, I KNOCK"
Oh Mr Doorman,

Oh ye dreadful
Deliverer and destroyer of souls,
Ye wandereth to and fro
Without leaving your post.

Ye are everywhere,
But nowhere
Near those who need
Freedom for their souls.

Constantly opening the doors
Of Life and Death
To those who seek it not,
Ignoring those who beckon your service.

Oh Mr Doorman,
Men wail at the sound of thy name.
For fear of thy profane power,
They dubbed thee insane.

I knock; oh Mr Doorman,
Seeking the peace at the other side.
Open up at thy own accord
For I fear I might break the door
And end up at the wrong side.
Take me where peace lies
For my soul lusteth release".

TIME

Every opportunity we crave,

Every name you'll want to make,

Tis' wrapped in risks we take,

Real choices, not fake.

Whether it be on stage,

Whether a chance for fame,

When chances come your way,

In gold, please sign your name.

In all these, silence is golden.

Your world watching you your unfolding,

Whilst they think, it's not worth seeing,

Let excellence Keep em wondering.

So push! Stretch! Get to work!

Do your lot, and less of talk.

Coz' someday when it's your turn,

We'll be there to watch you burn.

Literature / Storm by Poetree1x: 9:40pm On Nov 23, 2023
Storm

Down the asphalt road,
A weary traveller travels forth,
The air grews cold,
Nimbostratus clouds painted the sky black.

A swoosh of wind carried the dead leaves away,
Distant roars of thunder,
Lightning etched the heavens,
Sounds of rumbling raindrops drew close.

Flee! Flee!
Oh thou art but wanting,
The cold touch of the pouring drizzle,
Alas! Thou art shivering cold.

Literature / Love by Poetree1x: 9:33pm On Nov 23, 2023
LOVE

Love
The flavour of life is love
When love dies
Life becomes odourless
When love fades
Life becomes colourless
Men begin to live with the heaviness of heart
Human gets detestable.

Love
The salt of life is love
When love is absent
Life becomes tasteless
When love goes into extinction
Life becomes dull
Men begin to live in woe
Human gets irritable.

Love
The light of life is love
If love perishes
Life becomes gloomy
When love vanishes
Life becomes blurry
Men begin to walk in confusion
Human lives in darkness
Darkness of heart and mind.

Love
When there is love
There is light
Where there is love
Light shines brightly
Where there is love
Life gives its best
Its best in everything
When there is love
Light shines in the heart of men
And Human becomes lovable.

Literature / Above All Trouble by Poetree1x: 4:02pm On Nov 22, 2023
ABOVE ALL TROUBLE

Our sad times

When our Joy dies

And happiness flies

Our thought travels in miles

Thinking if we'll ever leave our plight

And take back our victory smile

Our broken moments

When our soul is in torments

Like our mind isn't honest

Making us feel less of our talents

Making us doubt the power of our greatness

And the certainity of our mindset

Emotions plays to make us High

Blames us to make us cry

Dribbles us to make us blind

Blind from every vision that we'll rise

And possibility that we'll be fine

Day by day, when we move and tackle

We'll survive our mind's battle

And emotional struggle

This isn't a myth or fable

Joy will set in, such that we can't handle

And our head is raised above all trouble

Literature / Sound Of Birds by Poetree1x: 11:43am On Nov 22, 2023
Sounds of bird

An African woman, a tapestry divine,
Resplendent as the sun in her design,
Her voice, a chorus from the Serengeti's heart,
Echoes wisdom, tales of a world apart.

Her voice, a symphony in the air,
Resonates like a bird's sweet care,
Each word a note, melodious and clear,
Sung softly, like a bird drawing near.

With every phrase, a song takes flight,
Notes that soar in the day's pure light,
A cadence gentle, a rhythm true,
As if a bird in the morning dew.

Soft whispers carry a nightingale's tune,
In her secrets shared beneath the moon,
Each syllable, a songbird's delight,
Her voice, a choir in the quiet of night.

Like birdsong floating on the breeze,
Her voice, a melody that easily appease,
In her cadence, I find solace and mirth,
A voice akin to the sweetest bird on earth

Literature / One Last Hug by Poetree1x: 2:41pm On Nov 20, 2023
One last hug
Boost my confidence before it's 9'0 clock,
Amidst the hustle and tussle on our block,

Give me one long, sweet last hug for real
So it can stay imprinted in my head, even if it's all a dream.

Literature / Look At Me by Poetree1x: 1:18pm On Nov 16, 2023
Will you glance my way,
and in your eyes, will there be a ray?
Or will anger, your attention sway,
to acknowledge me, what do you say?

What makes you unique?, pray tell,
Why should I smile, under your spell?
No, your wishes, I won't compel,
What is it that you seek to impel?

For I see you gazing, yet no return,
Am I not a magician, something to discern?
A smile perhaps, is what you yearn,
Just give me a moment, a chance to learn.

I stare, at that persistent grin,
Magician, show me your win.
No, I won't yield, that's not in my kin,
Why this anger, what's within?

But still. you fail to truly see,
My aim is laughter and glee.
Come on, a smile, just let it be,
It's amusing, a bit, you'll agree.

If you wish, I'll gaze more keen,
A clown, you say, a dull scene.
I said no, quit asking, don't intervene,
This is amusing, a fact so keen.

Please, look, observe with delight,
I can turn around, make it right.
No, clowns steal, a dubious sight,
But I'll grant a smile, a token so bright

Literature / Shades Of My Grey by Poetree1x: 7:05am On Nov 08, 2023
SHADES OF MY GREY
In my darkest and lonely time,
When I wish to be long gone and forgotten.
I stare at my ceiling hoping to find,
Answers I never knew if it existed.
With my teary, airbag eyes. I laid.

More and more, much more and more,
I keep staring. My pillows getting soaked.
Wondering and pondering if I still have it,
All shaped or it's living it fifty shades.
Life doesn't have it all. In the end.

Longing for hope, thirsty for fate,
To play it's part and perhaps,
Lay it out freely, following the rhythm.
The winds evolved around my anxiety.
I hope it livens my shades of grey.

Adúmáadán.

Literature / Some Days Are For Poetry by Poetree1x: 9:27pm On Oct 31, 2023
SOME DAYS ARE FOR POETRY
Some days are for poetry

The words come together like ants to a chunk of cheese

Like soldiers on parade the infantry swings in perfect trajectory into the conscious of my mind, into the path of my pen

Bleeding assiduously

My head is an exclusive access cinema

To the exotic pageantry of imageries

Showing picture perfect

The images flood my eyes to tears

Pictures with passion in perfect parade

Wearing fitting emotions show in slow motion

Pictures and words dress to match

Like beads to the African skin

The lines fall on paper and stand in line in perfect precision

Each drop of ink birthing new life

Whole and complete

And self sustained

Sometimes,

It's a ceaseless flow in verbosity

Splattering words like an uncouth mouth whose tank is full of filth

Sometimes

They come as brothers in arms

With a magnet the earth's magnetic field ends with envy

So I can avoid the dart
I can't depart
Because many are waiting for me to impart
I have to play my part
Even if it means that I restart

I will outsmart

Literature / The World Of Free Delulu by Poetree1x: 6:07pm On Oct 25, 2023
THE WORLD OF FREE DELULU

My world is a strange and weird voodoo,
Full of lives that are filled with delusion beings.
Nothing is free and you do not need to argue,
I am forced to believe that life doesn't give a clue,
Maybe two pages of guidelines would be okay.

I lived in a world, where you are enticed by free things,
Maybe it would give you a new string.
But that's just what I called "delulu",
It doesn't get better with free dealings.
Maybe it's just me in my head.

The world bleeds and is covered with uncertainty,
We live every single moment hoping it will get better.
It's a life bestowed on us with no guarantee,
Or maybe a certainty with a letter.
Maybe living in my fantasy is enough.

Like the future that Always coming but never arrives,
The distance between us numbs me
It's hurts with each phone call or text messages
It's hard to hold on to something you don't see
This feeling, I wish it were like water
So I could pour it away

Literature / My Heartbeat by Poetree1x: 11:29pm On Oct 20, 2023
My Heartbeat
In shadows deep where darkness crept,
You came, a light- my soul you swept.
When life's cruel grip would hold me tight,
Your love would shine, a beacon in the night.
You saved me from the abyss's roar,
Each time my heart could bear no more.
With gentle words and hands so kind,
You pulled me back into peace of mind.
In your embrace, I found my home,
A sanctuary where I could finally roam.
Your laughter; a medicine like a melody,
Bringing life and light to everything I see
You are my rock, my guiding star,
In every moment, whether near or far.
Without you, I can't imagine who I'd be,
You are the heartbeat inside of me.
I cannot fathom two lives apart,
For you're the rhythm of my heart.
In your love, I've found my truth,
My endless joy, my eternal youth.
So here I stand, with words so true,
To say, my love, how much I do.
You are my everything, my night and day,
Forever and always, in every single way.

Literature / Tge Morning Dew by Poetree1x: 7:16pm On Oct 19, 2023
THE MORNING DEW
It's morning, I woke up feeling tired,
Unsure of what the day holds.
Sitting under these shades and folds,
Reminiscing about what my pen inspired.

It's Morning, and I have lost count,
Of words struggling to come out of my head.
Every word count and want to be heard,
So, easy easy on me, and let's recount.

It's a new day and a new life,
Chilly and feels so new.
So let's start the day and strive,
To cheers to the Sunset and feel renewed.

Literature / Triumph Of Light by Poetree1x: 10:17pm On Oct 18, 2023
TRIUMPH Of LIGHT

I behold light!
The light that dispels the void
That light that created form
The form that lends meaning
The meaning that is me.

I found myself peeping
Into deeper caverns in the hills
Of Olympus, as of clouds seeming
To tumble and form in tumult
Mountains of the beginnings

Again, I sensed the depths of light
Light that spells conception
The beginning of infinite consciousness
Where gods fire the forges
And the anvil harmer in thunders
Spewing balls of fire into finite form.

Shango has transited from us.
Light and fire marking his trail
In mutations of the divine hood
Where the beginning gives birth
To the end, as I await here ...

For the ultimate passage
When earth-flesh falls as dry leafs
And inner streams merge
With the fluids of the forcadoes
And that breathe that is mortal life
Dies and vitiates into zephyr's drift
When that fire in my core is liberated
In gaseous mass back into the depths of the source.

Literature / A New Beginning by Poetree1x: 8:02pm On Oct 16, 2023
New beginning
I wish to start again
like a new slate
with nothing on my plate
fill it up, no regret

I wish to be an empty canvas
so I would choose my paint
this time I will choose
wether to sketch or paint

I wish to be an empty paper
without the crease or mistake
will choose wisely either to write
or leave it empty or make paper plane

I wish to be an untouched tree
in the wild and stand free
only influence of nature and breeze
will go through weather and season
and make changes only with a reason

I wish I could restart again
but with experience I have gained
and avoid all the difficulties and pain
I wish I was born again

I like to sit outside
Staring at the setting sun
As it's glow slowly dimes
Would she have stayed
I wonder
Thousands of thoughts buzzing through my mind
Yet no answers
I sing songs of sadness
Looking at these candle you had brought
They are all melting away and I fear for darkness is around the corner
But I sit still anyways
Because my light was gone the moment you left with yours

Literature / My Only Love by Poetree1x: 11:24am On Oct 12, 2023
MY ONLY LOVE
The shadow approaches without a face,
beauty seeks to be renamed, she got ashamed,
Nature used her last ink to pen her name,
her fairness have become to men a maze.

Her head patiently moulded by the creator,
men and women all wow'd by its perfect shape,
the roundness has become to many physicians a mentor,
Urge to feel nature grows as refined grape.

The moons all fall for her sclera whiteness,
skies touch have made my love iris blueish,
she has lost her lashes to baldness,
with every blinks she drop, I salivate my wish.

Hadn't I read the Genesis I'll assume she breathes life,
The path her nose trends knows no imperfection,
It's posture gave made me forget my regression,
All I wonder is my destination through its aisle.

Those smile threaten to steal my reincarnation,
Broad as the morning sunshine enacaved in a large sphere,
Your crisp made my lies loose its re-creation,
If memory revelish it's promise, I'll kiss your rare.

Her breast is full on righteousness plate,
Like the rivers of life she could breed salvation,
Flavoured courteously with neither love nor hate,
As an Afrikaan woman shows pride for her nation.

with every steps she makes you hear a tale,
her people whispers "those could be elephant's hip",
but my eyes are glued, my unhappy fate,
for her cause I could climb mountains even hills,

He who hears from the sky I repeat my prayer,
embed this love forever on the beating drum,
Oh make me nothing if nothing last ever,
Till the sun turns dark let her beauty storm.

Literature / Infinite Lines by Poetree1x: 10:42am On Oct 11, 2023
Infinite lines
The lines casually shape themselves on the wall
Unrealistically connecting from one end to the other
Painting a not so perfect picture that just manages to make sense depending on my point of view
They carefully hypnotizes me in a long stare
Taking me from reality to a place of infinite possibilities that get me wondering 'how' did that get there
But Never knowing how
Yet I wonder
I wonder how those two soldiers got there and why they could possibly be fighting
Or the cat laying on its back playing with that ball
Though I wonder out of my undying curiosity but they some what partially, significantly but not entirely gives me comfort
People, I try my best to understand them
Pouring my heart out hoping that would be enough
but they take it all then demand for more , more of what I do not have
so I make running back to the lines on the wall a regular
and there I'll begin to envisage my own perfect people
Constantly trying to separate the good from the bad
Like me subconsciously trying to stop the two soldiers from killing each other

The lines on the wall
Like their curved and imperfect edges,
Its A constant reminder that no matter what
Presents its self, all was never meant to be perfect,
Uncertainties and disappointments, heartbreaks, lust and death
Just like the lines on the wall
They are inevitable.

Literature / All The Little Pain by Poetree1x: 2:02pm On Oct 10, 2023
All the little pains
There's So Much pain in the world
With So many open wounds
So much chaos and fear,
arsenal of chores yet to be completed
Sleep comes with no regards of your duties
Yet responsibilities knocks before the sun even rises
Better days ahead,
Time heal all wounds that's what they said,
Yet
Tomorrow came and passed
And am still hurting

There's So much pain in the world,
It hurts like a double edged sword straight to the heart.
If I cry they'll tag me weak
And if I don't, they'll say "speak up, don't die in silence"

So much impatience from imperfect people
It's funny how I want results when I haven't even started.
I see a lot and want them all
A person who has no job will surely
Go insane when he can't get what only money can get,
I am a product of what may be the last generation.

There's So much pain in the world
I try to stitch up this wounds
Forcing happiness and smiles at everyone
Who I am on the inside would probably scare you
So I make a happy face and fake these laughters
Just maybe then you could accept me for what am not
Instead of running away because of what I actually am.

There's So much pain in the world
Maybe it wouldn't hurt this much if I was only feeling my pains,
Everyone is hurting yet no help forthcoming
I know am supposed to rhyme these
For better reading
But patient left me for wealth
So I battle these things which I can't explain on my own and when am asked how am doing, I simply say "am fine",
What is better to say?
When I don't even know how I am feeling

Bare screen
In the land of buzzing screens and connection’s flow
Where WhatsApp messages like rivers ebb and grow
I found myself adrift in a tale untold
Lost in the realm where electricity had been switched to cold.

A dark cloud loomed as power faded away
Silencing my phone casting shadows astray
No charging cords to keep my device alive
In this digital age I felt a part of me deprived.

Hours turned into a day worry etched on my face
Imagining my lover’s concern my friends’ restless pace
How they’d wonder my absence a puzzle unsolved
Their messages left unseen their hearts maybe dissolved.

As the sun dipped below the horizon’s crest
Electricity returned filling the air with zest
With trembling hands I powered my phone anew
Hoping to find bundles of love from the few.

But to my dismay the screen remained bare
Not a single notification not a message to share
The realization hit me like a thunderous tide
How insignificant my absence had been deep inside
