This is a species of blindsnake. Blind snakes belong to five different families and 39 genera with overall 38 species.
They are so called because of their reduced eyes hidden under scales which do not form and pick up images, but are not photo sensitive i.e sensitive to light.
Blind snakes are among the most harmless groups of snakes, being non venomous and are fossorial (living a burrowing lifestyle).
They feed exclusively on ants and termites and superficially resemble earthworms as can be noticed from the picture.
Their heads and tails are so much alike they can easily confuse a potential enemy..
