It is no doubt that Enugu state is cursed with barren land. The state has one of the highest poverty rate and lowest literacy rate in Nigeria, but one of the major problems of the state more especially the state capital is lack of portable drinking water. Anambra and delta states are the source of portable drinking water in Enugu .

Below is how most people in Enugu source their drinking water because most of them cannot afford expensive portable drinking water that’s imported from Anambra and delta states

Ebonyi airport hasn’t received a single commercial flight four months since it was commissioned.

When we tried to investigate the cause, it was learnt that almost all the Nigerian airlines have refused to fly to Ebonyi state because it is considered among the most unprofitable route in Nigeria. Ebonyi people are mainly peasant farmers and aren’t known for using air transport for most of their travels.

One of the airline officials who doesn’t want his name mentioned said that the poverty rate in Ebonyi state is one of the highest in Nigeria and they wondered how an airport in such obscure and isolated state would be viable in the first instance.

The airport site which has remained deserted because there’s no activity whatsoever happening there is now wasting away. Some residents of the state have asked the government to turned the site into an amusement park since no Nigerian airline has agreed to fly to ebonyi state.

It has become very clear that ex governor Umahi borrowed and wasted billions of naira on the airport project when most Ebonyi people cannot even afford one square meal a day and have no money to send their children to school.

Why are Nigerian airlines avoiding Ebonyi state airport ?

It is becoming glaringly clear that Umahi borrowed and wasted billions of naira on an airport that all analysts proved wasn’t going to be viable. Today it is now clear to everyone that umahi wasted borrowed billions on ego trip project when most ebonyi people are poor, uneducated and hawking almost everywhere in Nigeria.

Poverty rate in ebonyi is over 80%. when the idea of the airport was first muted, some analysts advised that umahi should use the said funds for the project and invest heavily in human resource development and education, but he shoved it aside, today no Nigerian airline want to fly to ebonyi simply because it is a very unviable route for airlines.

What do you suggest for the present administration in ebonyi state as regards to the abandoned airport?

Rivers state is gone. Look at the shithole they have turned port harcourt into.

Port harcourt is not liveable. Pollution has made port harcourt to become the most polluted city in the world . Rivers state is my state but our leaders have failed us in this state

I was driving down from Oba to Nnewi this afternoon and I was astonished at how Nnewi has grown. Few days ago I was in Awka and I was speechless at how fast Awka is developing. With what Soludo is doing in Ekwulobia, Ekwulobia is about to become one of the fastest developing Cities in Nigeria. The truth is that Anambra is on another level of uniform development.
