wallg123: Im sorry to hear of this, My husband has also got decision made on 2nd February now awaiting his passport, no refund of this IHS, they are supposed to be delaying the refund seems not, i think it is a cruel way to find out See what they say the reason for refusal was and address them, if you can afford to re apply because appeal at the moment are back logged and a lady i know just been told appeals are now taking 12-18 months |

blza: Are you still on MAT pay? They take 6 months prior to going on maternity pay this is in the appendix fm section 5.5.19 https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/469692/Appendix_FM_1_7_Financial_Requirement_August_2015.pdf Contract of employment of course wouldn't match any payrises or promotions this is why you need a letter from your employer confirming certain points. If you ctrl F on that document I gave the link for search maternity, it will bring every paragraph relating to your own case. Please note it is a choice to add the employment contract however it proves your length with your employer and the more evidence you can supply is better for them to make a decision on your application |

Saratkum: We put intended date of 24th December but I knew wouldn't get it by then. If you put a date after the visa has been granted they can at times give you 30 days from that date, thus meaning you wouldn't be able to travel until that intended date, example: if you put intended date 28 February but decision made on 14 February your entry clearance can be dated 28 February which will be day 1 of the 30,days but some ECO still date it from the decision date However if you put a date that has passed then they would just date the pippet 30 days from the decision made date. Dont panic |

Davdar: The reason OP said this is because many people are getting the IHS refunded within days of a decision email but before they even get the passport back, despite them having a refund window of 90 days/ longer if you appeal, I'm not sure the reasons behind it but these have still been able to submit an appeal even having the refund This can be confirmed on a FB group called I love my foreign spouse I hope you get to hear of your appeal soon 1 Like |

Ok so hubby has got a decision made email today for his spouse visa Im not sure if this makes any difference but on Facebook one person asked me..." Did you get a VAF reference in the email subject line" intrigued i checked and indeed yes I do have a reference number starting VAF123456 (6 numbers but not these) and the guy said, this number was the same on his visa when he got the passport and said he has asked those with a refusal and the decision made email did not contain a VAF reference in the email subject line. I thought that maybe it was just the application ref but this starts with GWF which is also in the message of the email Can anyone check their emails, this could give us an indication before we receive the passports back thank you |

I am a British citizen, living in the UK, I am married to a Nigerian National who is still resident in Lagos. I have traveled to Lagos on my own now 3 times in the last 12 months and we got married in Ikoyi in March 2015' I have been researching day and night to find out about Visa’s into Nigeria as at the moment I have been paying around £300 for each visitor’s visa, which of course when added to the cost of flights, travel insurance and antimalarial medication, is quite a lot before I can depart for Lagos and I would love to be able to see my husband more often than I have been. I would like to know if I can apply for the Niger wife (CERPAC) visa that I have come to discover its existence. Thank you in advance Karen

Ildi: you dont need a solicitor, past refusals have no affect on your spouse application, this can even be applied if you did have a ban. I have listed my documents i submitted, I was also married before, and like @Lexusgs430 stated just include all the decree ABSOLUTE not the nisi, (Nisi's you get before the absolute ) as long as you follow the supporting documents guidance notes then you would be fine, if you had maybe some extra for a solicitor I would recommend paying priority, only because now the processing times have gone up to 120 working days, plus this waiting is really mind boggling |

target007: If his mother is UK born why would he need to come to the UK via the SS? Also the Surinder Singh route is where a British citizen moves to another EU member state to excise their treaty rights to bring their non EU family/spouse, so did his mother move to another EU country for this to happen since a British citizen cannot get a family permit for a family member whilst still in the UK the same goes for any other EU member they cannot do the surinder singh route in their own countries, they have to move to another EU country. In his case if his mother is like you say British born, then he is automatically British himself, this will not be the case if his mother is a British citizen by naturalization. |
