So I contacted the HO about my BRP.

This is the response.

Thank you for your enquiry.

You will not require a BRP as your visa is valid until XX XXXXXXX XXXXXX

Accordingly, you should use the Entry Clearance vignette you have been issued in your passport to enter the UK and evidence of your right to be here.
You will not receive a BRP.
Please do not reply to this e-mail.

Thank you

It was introduced newly I guess.

this is true, however when you apply for FLR you will then get issued a BRP instead of the visa being put in the passport smiley

Good evening house.

Am so glad I found this forum. Unfortunately the gist has gone on for so long and I haven't been able to follow from beginning. please I need your advice on the following:

Am getting married in march and intend to apply for visa to join my hubby in the UK in April. is it too early to apply?

He's on a tier 2 visa currently, what documentation do we need to provide and what's the complete application process.

Thank you

I used to search key words at the top then filter for it to search only the travel section smiley

When did you get the Visa and the entry clearance does it just have 30 days or the full visa term?

If it has the full visa period on the sticker in the passport then you would get the BRP on your FLR (next stage)

So that ikoyi registry certificate was safe on delivery?

@phardey and @portsmouth86

I have been wondering about the biometrics resident permit myself since lately everyone seems to be talking about it. I guess putting the visa on it is recent because my whole visa for the 2 and a half years is on my passport. So phardey, maybe when we renew we'd get the biometrics card. Thanks portsmouth86 for making me understand it better. Congrats once more.

yes that is so, im not 100% sure when the BRP came in tho, you collect the BRP from a local post office and when you goto apply in the uk for FLR you will be asked to do your biometrics at the post office which you pay for, then you will get this on a succesful application

Awwww! Finally cheesy

I'm so thrilled for u. I remember seeing all your messages when I was about applying for my Visa last April.

Thank you, long wait and didn't rush things so not to make any mistakes

Quick one please. Does everyone on spouse visa needs the biometrics card. Whats the card for? the biometrics residents permit is your visa and this is what shows your entitlement to work, you just get a 30 day entry clearance into the UK that gets put in your passport

Yes, the decision is usually made on the day of the spouse's Interview in London. (Thats if the spouse was called fro interview)

A woman I speak to had an interview on 17th January was refused, yet the decision was already made on 12th l, can you imagine going through that it's utter crazy

My visa was dated 26th May, Same day my hubby was interviewed in London

Portsmouth86, are you guys too busy making babies, that you have not updated Mr Bakare's arrival?
You cannot miss in action now!!!!

Haha you know it grin

He arrived on Saturday, was detained by Heathrow border force for over an hour poor hubby, they called me and asked me to show my ID then let him go.

I took hubby to London for Valentine's day showed him the palace, Trafalgar square Leicester Square, and of course the Nigerian high commission, we watched a movie in Leicester Square and saw the Chinese new yr celebrations.

We collected biometrics card yesterday and it's valid 27th January 2016 til 5th November 2018 so seems decision was actually made on the day I had the interview.

I went to cook some food for hubby he told me to relax he will do it that I done a lot already, and he did the dishes haha feel like he ma wife ooo smiley

Now time for me to get back to work tonight, he's been added to all the bills and appointment to open a bank account on Tuesday smiley

Busy few days I must say haha

I hv airline tickets , boarding passes (can't find all), hotel booking . Do I need to include copies of entry and exist stamps

Also hubby submitted his app on tuesday and got reception notification from Sheffield Wednesday . Is it usually this quick. I am under pressure to finalise my docs and send to Sheffield

You need to be pronto with your documents, I had mine ready the day hubby went for his biometrics, take a deep breath, and if you need to tick off as you go, I have added my documents if need to cross reference

Good luck

Re: (APPLICANTS FULL NAME)
Letter of introduction.

I am SPONSORS FULL NAME, born XXth MONTH YEAR in the United Kingdom, currently living in the address as stated above, I am employed by COMPANY NAME, Employment commenced: DATE EMPLOYMENT STARTED.

I wish my husband/wife Mr/Mrs APPLICANTS FULL NAME, currently living in CITY, COUNTRY to be granted entry clearance to join me permanently in the United Kingdom so we can live together as husband and wife/civil partners.

My husband/wife and I met on/in WHERE AND DATE, and in a relationship since DAY MONTH YEAR and since then we have kept contact thus building a strong and loving relationship that led us to getting married on the DATE OF MARRIAGE at PLACE OF MARRIAGE, CITY, COUNTRY.

From the time we started dating till date, I have travelled to COUNTRY on NUMBER (EG:THREE) different occasions in order to further build our relationship and establish the necessary physical contact, as we both decided it will be cost effective and ideal for me to visit him in COUNTRY as oppose to the other way round.(YOU CAN EDIT THIS IF YOU HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFULL IN GETTING VISIT/OTHER VISAS)

It has been difficult for both of us to have a long distance relationship, our love getting ever stronger so we realised the need to fulfil all necessary requirements to start a life together as a husband and wife should.

In addition I will take responsibility for my husband/wife, APPLICANTS FULL NAME’S, financial sponsorship as one of the major requirements by the home office and have the necessary accommodation for his move to the United Kingdom, where he will eventually work within PREFERRED PROFESSION, as he/she has expressed he/she wishes to continue in the same line of work as he/she is in now.

I am happy to forward additional documents that may be required at any time.

I will be highly obliged if my request is granted as this will make an exceptional progress and difference in both our lives as we look forward to building a family together in the near future.

I thank you in anticipation for your support and kind gesture

Yours Sincerely

Neither my husband nor friends or family wrote any supporting letters, this is all I did along with the undertaking form

I'm still waiting for mail or message from the embassy to go get my refusal and haven't heard notin yet. On the Tls tracking page still displays " sent to ukvi Sheffield " even tho I've got the mail saying decision has been made...

Is it advisable to visit there office to check if my passport is with them cuz it's suppose to take 3-5 working days?

Hubby got a decision made email from Sheffield then another from tls that also a decisions been made

I would suggest popping down today or tomorrow if you can as should be 5 days
