I am also having issues using the digitalpersona scanner to capture my finger print. I have downloaded Java 1.6 update 23 but when i log into the nysc portal to capture it i get this alert 'com.digitalpersona.onetouch.jni.JniException' and the white screen comes up. I then place my fingers on the scanner and it blinks to show its capturing the fingerprint but it doesnt show up on the white screen page. Please can someone help out ?

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to those who replied my previous question. Now i have registered and paid online but i am not able to capture the biometric finger print. I know the portal for registration closes tomorrow but will i still be able to capture my finger print after tomorrow? I just bought the scanner they mentioned was needed to capture the finger print. So i am thinking since i still need to print my call up letter then i should still be able to login into the portal right ?

Please I want to know if its still possible to register for the NYSC 2016 batch A now and How i can register. I have tried to register online using the link on the www.nysc.gov.ng website but the link provided on the page does not work so i dont know if there is another link i can use or how i can go about it because i am not in naija now.

I am currently in the U.S on OPT STEM EAD. I graduated with a degree in engineering and I got a job working for an I.T Firm which my STEM application was granted for. I want to come to Nigeria for christmas and I will need to renew my F-1 visa. I have all the documents such as my Employment Letter, Pay Stubs, EAD card, I-20 to prove I am in status and I have no pending Permanent Residency application. I am just worried about facing issues at the embassy/Port of Entry back into U.S because my current job is not exactly in engineering and I might have to prove that I have no intent of staying in U.S.after my OPT expires.

Do you think I can travel but I just have to prove myself or is it advisable not to leave the U.S at all ?

It is different for families. I personally come from a close knit family with both married and unmarried siblings. we call each other almost every day of the week even though we are all scattered around the world. Our mom made sure we depended on each other during our childhood so its kind of the norm to be there for each other whenever needed. We also started this thing of spending part of the summer and Christmas/new years together where you cherish each other and have fun. I think you should try reaching out. call them as often as possible, go visiting, be a cool uncle/aunt, just be there for them and I am sure they will probably get closer. It all depends on the views and beliefs though. Some people believe they don't need their families and they probably have a good reason for that but as for me my family is the most important thing in the world. Money and friends will always come and go but your family is forever your own.

I find it really annoying when people (both male and female) use others for their benefits knowing well that they do not feel the same way about them. where is your pride ? whatever happened to the satisfaction you get from working hard for something and knowing it is fully yours. I am a girl and I just hate it when guys try to take advantage of you because you are in a better position than them. Please you know you will never marry her now or ever so just move on and let her find her true happiness.

I do not see anything wrong here. You are young so don't worry. You will meet the right guy soon.
