If you’re so confident that Igbos outside the south-east wouldn’t join their kinsfolk to secede (your wet dream), then you should trust the strength of your conviction and support a referendum in those Igbo areas! The answer you expect from the referendum would be all the more ‘sweeter’ as it’ll finally show Igboland is ‘just your 5 south-east states’ and everyone else loves ‘one Nigeria’ and will continue with it once Ndigbo leave!

There’s a lot of reasons why Ndigbo outside the south-east don’t participate in the sit-at-home: some my not believe it’s the right approach even as they still believe in secession (i’m from Rivers state and even i feel it’s been overused); some may feel the sit-at-home wouldn’t be as effective outside the south-east as it would be diluted by other ethnicities still carrying on with work and business, hence the message may be lost; some may have genuine reasons to break the sit-at-home for health or other expedient reasons; etc!

You’d be silly to think not engaging in sit-at-home easily translates to not supporting a bid for referendum or secession!

This is why the USA has the largest consumption of any country in the world cos of a larger GDP. This is why a Switzerland with less than 5million persons has a larger consumption than an Ethiopia with over 80million persons.

NB: Moreover, you are very wrong that manufacturing industries dont pay VAT. They are actually a massive source of VAT as they buy inputs(raw materials, machineries, etc) to run their industries including importing(a huge chuck of total VAT in the country); just that an input-output tax mechanism is used in the final computations.

It has made the north(a resource rich region) lazy, impudent and totally bereft of ideas on its own future. I type cos i care about the north. If the distributor is not the manufacturer then the distributor is also a consumer who pays VAT when buying the products from the manufacturer.

The distributor ( wholesale consumer ) then sells it to other consumers ( small scale consumers like you and other people ) who will also pay VAT when buying it.

Lagos has the highest population with the highest purchasing power in the country so it's VAT is always going to be high.

Lagos VAT can never reduce because it collects VAT generated only in Lagos.

Vat is charged on value addition, the manufacturer charges vat on the difference between cost of input and output (value added). So the distributor or whoever is next in line buys from them vat inclusive and sells to the consumer inclusive of vat charged for his own value addition, the final consumer buys Vat inclusive of the distributor, manufacturer etc and bears the brunt of it all. No be only HQ, that's the dumbest shit ever my Goddd!!

let's assume you make bulk purchase of indomie in lagos, you are treated as a consumer in Lagos, therefore you would pay the tax.

now, when the indomie arrive say jigawa, any one purchasing (consumer) in jigawa would also pay tax for consumption.
