Yes,that the yellow outfits will affect the eyes is our mothers' belief...I'm in Nigeria,got pregnant,waddled through and gave birth in Nigeria where malaria is prevalent...Anyone can get malaria,and should be treated for it..But malaria drugs and jaundice doesn't relate at all..and dat a doctor gave u anti malaria drugs cos u were having it doesn't mean i have to take it while not having it too...tor,i rest my case

Am relieved too o I use to wonder why I should use drugs without confirming I have the sickness.Have used it twice and that's because i had it but they were insisting in the clinic I use it every four weeks me that I hate drugs.My lo will be fine too

Mamas,i have been a silent observer...i was jz forced to comment when i saw worries of mamas concerning malaria drugs and jaundice...I can never rubbish watever u were told to do during ur ante natal classes(as a matter of fact,it's important to adhere),they re ur caregiver,they can see u and know u..If ur doctor gave u anti malaria drugs,pls use it...my own point is Jaundice and Anti-Malaria drugs has no connection....Easy peasy delivery to everyone

Registering in another hospital won't make a difference though my own point of view.Ur lo will be fine o we were told at my clinic but I also thought it's when one have malaria and I had it twice so I used it the second time I vomitted after like 30 or 40 minutes I used the drug and I was ok afterwards.I wish mother's that have experience can talk about this.

One hour mine was not up to that and I didnt see the drugs or maybe I didn't notice cos I was weak self after vomiting

Good morning , I went for antenatal on Tuesday and there was protein trace in my urine, I forgot to ask the doctor what it means, although I didn't use my early morning urine, I don't know we are to bring urine from home so I went to the toilet to pee,
Is there anything am suppose to avoid in my diet

The same thing happened to me last week when I went for antenatal. Doctor said not to worry that I should just keep drinking water and eat normal since my bp was normal.

When I was about 12 weeks or thereabout, I told the doctor that I was exposed to mosquitoes in my first trimester and that he should give me malaria drugs to prevent malaria, he asked if I have malaria symptoms and I said NO. He said there was no need but I can just take fansidar to make myself happy. Hearing that, I used my sense to decode that he was saying I don't need it since I was not having malaria.
I said this to buttress your point.
In fact another nurse told me last night that malaria and jundice are not related.
I guess the information we are exposed to in our various clinics are based on expertise and well we will all be fine jare

Probably the nurses wanted the pregnant women to take the malaria drugs too, hence the tales of jundice.

For both of my kids, it was caused by ABO incompatibility. I’m blood type O, my husband is blood type B and both my baby boys came out sharing their dads blood type B. During pregnancy and birth, the mom’s immune system might detect the baby’s unfamiliar blood protein antigens and create antibodies to fight the unfamiliar protein in the baby’s blood. This immune response causes the baby’s red blood cells to break down after its born and that’s what causes jaundice in babies who’s blood type is different from their mom’s.

lol I’m sure the malaria drug was for some specific reason because you didn’t have doesn’t mean everybody’s pregnancy babies or blood group is same. Please please women let’s all do whatever we are told to do during our ante natal.

A Rhesus positive mom’s immune system treats her Rhesus positive baby’s fetal cell as an intruder and develops antibodies to it. But it won’t affect a firstborn child unless the mom has had stillborns in the past or miscarriage or maybe abortion. Subsequent pregnancies are at risk though, cos the mom might be sensitized by then and the antibodies that was developed with the first pregnancy will always attack the fetus and cause the mom to miscarry. It rears its head when a woman is pregnant with a Rhesus + baby.

That’s why Rhesus - women should always get that Rhogam shot after childbirth, miscarriage or to be safe, abortion. It protects the mom from being sensitized and develop antibodies which can cause miscarriages and stillborn babies. Lord help us.

I don't understand this rh factor thing o at my own clinic they said we that are + don't need the rhogham injection that's it's those with - that needs it maybe I will ask again by Tuesday,although am not sure of dh rhesus yet will be doing another test this weekend so maybe I will be talking to the doctor based on the two of us results to know what way forward Sha.It is well

Thanks for the response ma'am, I am rhesus-ve and I took Rhogam with my first child, this is my first time of hearing ABO incompatibility, I wanted to be sure it isn't Rhesus incompatibility.
