Good day everyone,

Trust y'all had a productive day. Please, I need a sharp and very good mechanic for corolla around ikeja and environment. There's this crazy sound from the back bearings and it's really loud and disturbing. Not sure any rider will like to hear this. Kindly refer me. Thanks...

Infact you have really given us the real life scenario. This was the bone of contention that rider can’t report you or get your account blocked if trip did not happen. I sensed this could happen but I’ve never experienced it, so your case is the best example.

But do you know if you had just suck it in the rider would have apologized for wasting your time and your account won’t get blocked?
I’ve waited for 49 minutes paid waiting before, I was just praying rider doesn’t cancel. It was a cool place so I press seat and used it as break time.
Ur own was 49mins, see mine below grin , this happened last week Saturday, tho d direction they were going to is towards my house and there's heavy traffic already so I jst pass time waiting for them... Trip lasted about 10mins cos time has gone already(from lasuth Ikeja to dopemu) and price was #4,700, rider gave me 5k sha
What I'm trying to say is that we all have reasons for our actions cos had it been that I'm not going home or waiting for traffic to reduce, definitely I would hv cancel cos in this our hustle, time is money and it's very important. In fact I barely wait for 10mins for rider and if I knw that I'm not going to the riders direction, I'll accept and won't pick the rider's call till he cancels.

Too poor.
There's this company at Ajah that goes to East with camry spider. They charge 25k per person. Three people only and they leave Ajah between 5-5:30, before 3pm, you're at Enugu.

I don't know what car you use, but assume fuelling to and fro 20-25k
Food and police 10k
Car maintenance after trip 5k
Profit, 10-15k for two days.

My tots too, u r absolutely on point...anything less than 70k don't go.
Let me add, also consider how many people are going on the trip. Don't forget, most likely na village u dey go not Onitsha town, so its a longer ride.

Although u will carry passengers and come back, but that's extra for u. Collect the money you would have made in 3days if u were within Lagos. Ur gain shouldn't be less than 40k for the stress n risk

Good. Someone finally noticed.

kanuisagoat:

I realised you're not much of an active driver so you may not really understand some of these things especially as your experiences may be limited to the few trips you do.

You are not looking at the fact that next time, the rider will make sure she's almost done with preparations before ordering a ride and will not keep the driver waiting.

Some of those riders who hop into your vehicle just as you arrived might have been schooled by people like felicity in the past.

Yes his account was blocked so what happened? He has survived without them and still doing okay.

So you think in all my active years of driving I wouldn’t have experienced such a rider or even was scenario ? Trust me I have met 99% of different manner of riders in Lagos.
I will even say the hustle is better now with ride request. Request full everywhere during the week and anytime of the day, there was a Thursday I was getting request back to back like weekends.
There is no time I put on Uber and bolt that I won’t get request in 10mins unlike before that you wait. Even d last time I went to ikorodu I got two request back to Lagos before I drop off rider.
I didn’t drive this week doesn’t mean I have less experience.

Hey ! You can’t say I’m not an active driver because I don’t drive every week of the month.

What off people that do shifts jobs ?
They work for 2 weeks and 2 weeks off. When they are off work does that mean they are not active ?
The week I’m at work I don’t drive, when I’m off I drive, that doesn’t make me less active. Though I do it as soft work now cause I saw millions in dashboard and car just dey house and it’s boring staying home all day.

Good evening everyone,
Pls I am a young guy trying to make a living for my self, I intend going into this Uber business, I planned buying my own car but my budget is 800k, I have been saving this money for a long time.

Pls I need advice on the following
1. car to purchase
2. Things to look out for when purchasing a car
3. Is the Uber/bolt business still profitable
4. General advise about the hustle

Plsss

I was in your shoes 2 years ago, so i know how itching it must be to hit the ground running but don't Jump on it like I did and regretted.
Keep your money in the bank and source for a rental (25K) would do just fine right now.
With that, you'll be able to learn the ropes and hopefully, save some money to add up to what you have to get a decent car built for Ehailing rigours.
And when the time is right to get a car, Toyota Corolla, Camry, Avensis, Yaris, Honda civic & City are your best bet. Don't listen to people who says otherwise, they won't be there for you when the shit hit the roof.
No matter how bad these listed cars are, be rest assured that selling it off won't take forever and your loss will be minimal.

Thanks for your contibution and good advise.
Though some people I had conversations with said it is better to drive your own car than to drive for other people.

Nice.
What about Honda accord, precisely 2010? Is it rugged and fuel efficient in comparison to Camry? An honest review would do.

I don't know if you are familiar with akowonjo bridge, I got to the bridge around after 4 , on getting dere I was about to use the bridge before lastma officials surrounded me , before I could say jack dem don enter motor, they said ones it's after 3 passing the other side of the bridge becomes 1 way. all explanation fell on deaf ears. they drove the key to there office at Ikeja. I pleaded till the guy said I should come tomorrow. the car is currently at there office at Ikeja, dey call d place W something something. as am typing dis tears don full my eye , please I need help

Actually that bridge becomes a one way once it's 3pm but its not in the law of the state so they can't win a case in court against you. Supposed your of a strong and stubborn mind like me I will tell them to charge me to court then when we get to court the magistrate will ask them to provide evidence and once they can't prove it under the law then the magistrate will throw out the case. You can even cash out by charging them illegal arrest and disruption of your business for days and weeks.

Stop begging them and stop doing like you're wrong, drag it with them... Why dint they put a sign? I have dragged it with them one time like that wgen they knew I wasn't giving in or opening my doors they just left one after tge other.
