chigora: If you type very fast and are very conversant with using a computer/mouse, then I'll advise you take the computer based test. British Council has several computer based practice test online. The format is exactly the same as the real exam, the only difference is that in the exam, you are given a headphone and it's in a controller environment. https://takeielts.britishcouncil.org/take-ielts/prepare/computer-delivered-ielts/practice-tests/listening You can find other practice test here: https://takeielts.britishcouncil.org/take-ielts/prepare/computer-delivered-ielts/practice-tests 1 Like 4 Shares |

Do you have previous work experience in any of the other eligible NOCs? What about NYSC - what did you do for NYSC? BenedictStinson: |

It actually depends on you, it's flexible. For example, I started mine in March 2018, and by December 2018, I was practically done except my seminar and two other courses that I had issues with. I was to do 19 courses, and in my first semester,I enrolled ten instead of seven, and immediately I finished the first semester exam,I enrolled the othe nine and the centre director was gracious to approve it, and was assigned both seminar and project supervisor. However, you have to be ready to have sleepless nights cos it won't come easy if you decide to rush it. If you decide to rush it, it will reduce the amount you spend cos their is a fixed amount you are to pay every semester you register courses. For me, I spent between 300k to 350k, although it was 200k I paid to the school directly, but there are minor expenses that might come up. How long is the NOUN Masters? How much did it cost you and what is the course name[/quote] 2 Likes 1 Share |

Please I need help because I'm really confused on what i should do My PR has been confirmed and I've received my COPR and Permanent resident visa. the expiry date on the visa is the 20th of August 2021. I was planning on booking my flight to Canada for the 1st week of June, but I received this email about the travel restrictions: Dear client, Thank you for your interest in coming to Canada as an Economic Class permanent resident. We are looking forward to having you here, but you will have to wait a little longer. At this time, to protect Canadians from COVID-19, travel restrictions are in place for individuals travelling to Canada. Even people with a confirmation of permanent residence (CoPR) and a permanent resident visa (PRV) counterfoil (if applicable), CANNOT TRAVEL TO CANADA at this time to become permanent residents unless they are exempt from the travel restrictions. Do not worry if your documents are near expiry. We will contact you with further instructions if your documents expire before the travel restrictions are lifted. We will then work with you at that time to re-issue or extend the validity of your documents when it is safer to travel. Travel Restrictions Compliance and Enforcement We want you to eventually come to Canada safely and legally. Please note if you don’t follow the instructions provided to and try to travel to Canada right now, you could face a signficant ticket or fine. Entering Canada is an offence under the Quarantine Act. For more information see Consequences for failure to comply with the Emergency order. Please learn about how COVID-19 is affecting immigration services and how it affects travel, quarantine and borders for the latest information on travel restrictions before making any travel plans and again before departing for Canada to avoid being denied boarding or entry in Canada. Reuniting with family We understand that you may have family in Canada and are looking forward to seeing them. If you are trying to reunite with family in Canada, you likely meet an exemption under the travel restrictions. If so, please consult Foreign nationals reuniting with family regularly to find out if you can travel to Canada. Keep us informed if your situation has changed Please let us know if your situation changes in any of the following ways: Marriage or common-law union, divorce, annulment, legal separation Death of the sponsor, the principal applicant or any accompanying family member Birth or adoption of a child, including grandchildren born to dependent children You, the principal applicant, or any of your family members have been charged or convicted of a criminal offence Do not attempt to travel to Canada if your situation has changed. Your documents will need to be updated and re-issued. We are sorry to keep you waiting and thank you for your patience, Sincerely, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada I guess this means that I shouldn't bother booking the flight? and apparently it seems that there's been this whole thing going on with the travel restrictions and people being unable to land, which i had no idea about until now. I feel really out of touch as I completed this whole process by myself and by checking forums for answers to any doubts i had. so please if anyone can refer me to any groups for people who are waiting to land in Canada or if someone is interested in starting a group like that please contact me , so at least we can keep ourselves informed on any changes 3 Likes |

You are not alone. The mail was sent during the week to calm tempers as this ban on travel has been in place since 18 March 2020. I suggest you put booking your flight on hold and keep yourself posted with news on IRCC website. Hopefully the ban would be eased. ifyel: 1 Like |

You can get in touch with WES via their contact form on their website. Do you want WES to send your transcript or your ECA to the university ? Also, are you aware that Immigration ECA is different from Education ECA? punchyy: |

Wow! This also sounds like a recipe for messing with people's head. There are accounts of people landing throughout last year and this year. Some who abided by the CoPR travel restrictions since Mar2020 and whose visa expired are reportedly still awaiting IRCC's response to their mail. On IRCC website, the wording on entering Canada by land suggests a CoPR holder can get in after spending some weeks in the US. With this letter, threatening legal actions and all, I wonder how this can be interpreted. Anyway, while patiently waiting, you can be applying for jobs. ifyel: 1 Like |

If the work was in an eligible NOC (A, B and 0) and within the last 10 years, it can be used. You will need a reference letter from the agency where you worked. It will only give you one year though, so you will need to maximize points in other areas, since the rest of your work experience is in NOC C. But at least one year in the right NOC can allow you to enter the pool while you work on other areas. BenedictStinson: |

Hello everyone, I am new in this thread and would like some inputs to this PR process with more information into my situation. Not actually new on Nairaland, more active in the German student visa thread, which helped me successfully migrate to Germany for my masters since 2019, currently about finishing my program soon. I want to enter the FSW pool before my program is done, finished my coursework just thesis now, can WES evaluate just my transcripts now is it acceptable? My crs score presently using the online tool is 475 and I lose points if I apply after my Next birthday, reason I want to apply soon. Also, about the NOC List, am confused if it should be in line with educational progress. I am nominating database developer but am studying masters in medical informatics. Is it okay? For working experience, can I use my work experience in Nigeria since I’ve not really done any professionally work here in Germany and which documents do I need to prove this? Waiting for opinions on this, thanks guys 2 Likes |

Nairalanders Advice/what to do is needed Since the beginning of this year, I wanted to pay for wes so I can send my transcript to them via my school. I'm gunning for 2 or more certificate point through my Bsc and ond I did. But the issue now is my university bsc is on strike, nasu strike is still ongoing despite ban lifting at national.my school AAU is still on strike via nasu. And I'm hearing that ASUP(polytechnic) non academic will soon join them next month April 5th. The issue now is that I intend to send my transcript for ond to wes, that means I have to pay for wes evaluation and upload my ond cert and transcript first since they re not yet on strike. Will it affect me..since I'm gunning for 2 or more cert, and I'm not posting both the bsc and ond at same time in my profile for evaluation.. If I pay for wes now and start my ond evaluation first since my bsc AAU is on strike, pending on when de resume.will it still come out as 2 or more certificate if I evaluate bsc later when strike is uplifted. Is there a time frame for wes evaluation if youve paid. Pls I just need a well detailed advice on what to do here as I'm confused. Thanks in anticipation NL friends.. |

phabulous88: Thank you. So 6i) is not “work experience equivalent to work in Canada? Cos that’s what I’ve always thought. |
Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 10 by phabulous88(m): 10:30pm On Mar 20, 2021 |
RetiredAdult: Yeah. If you have no work experience in Canada, then 6i should be None or less than 1. You don't get any point for this. For 6ii, you get the maximum point for work experience outside of Canada if you choose 3 or more years. 1 Like |

Hello house. I entered the pool last year with 478. I was so sure of my score that I didn't bother to try to improve it. I got ITA and couldn't meet up with proof of funds but was so sure that I'd get another one. another draw hasn't happened. I lost some points as a result of not maxing out my listening. Is 478 okay or should I rewrite IELTS and get my maximum points of 482. I really do not want to miss the next draw. |

BFWestAfrican: IRCC's mode of operation makes little consideration for visa applicants (both immigrant and non-immigrant category) and I'll advice that people do what they can to avoid having an expired visa/COPR. Many may mock me for this but the Nigerian Immigration E-visa(tourist, business, spousal) regime is a lot more friendly. This is march 2021 not march 2020 when covid19 shut down the world. I feel for potential immigrants who believed so much in the system, sold their belongings, quit their jobs/shut down their businesses and got stuck in the "unable to travel state". Some were even accompanied to the airport by family/friends only to be denied boarding and have since been stuck spending out of their settlement funds. In the pool many have gone the extra mile working to earn points but have been excluded from draws with some losing 5 points on their birthdays. Many have also had their applications taking more than a year. Everything blamed on Coivd. Covid only exposed the weaknesses of the system 2 Likes |
