cool

I got Audi A4 2003 2 weeks ago. I was shocked when I was quoted N32,000 for its Belgium AC condenser which I eventually bought.

Where in Lagos can I always get its part and as well professionally fix any issue that might come up on it. It is in perfect condition as we speak! !!

I know little about that engine. But if you are looking at buying a wagon. If the golf 3 wagon is not too small get it instead.

Have you physically inspected the car before?

Is the car a daily driven ride or it has been packed for long?

I felt the seller just sent you pictures

Once u feel confident of the engine and transmission. You can go for it. It is a very strong car.

ok thanks. Engine is fine. It's manual transmission and the gear is ok. Just the AC that is disconnected.

Why are Nigeria used cars always have unattended AC issues? You will see AC working but need attention. It is because of the high cost of AC parts.

For me I cannot buy a car without AC working. Or better still I make inquiries about the cost of replacement and labour and ask he seller to deduct it from the cost price.

It baffles me too. some will say it's just gas you will refill but you will end up changing compressor, condenser, drier, pipes, etc.

Before you know you might end up spending close to 90k plus labour to fix it and they would make you feel it's gas of 5k

1) Change your fuel pump.

2) Your air to fuel mix is bad (MAF or Dirty injectors)
Use air to blow your air filter and put it back again.

3) When last was your transmission fluid changed?

Action number 1 and 2, drive your vehicle for a while and observe the changes.

EPC is an issue we would discuss after u complete the above actions.

the truth is a lot of times all those do not need changing. It's usually when a tech doesn't know how to or don't have the tools to find which of them is the problem they just recommend changing the whole system hoping to catch the problem. It's usually just a leak, clogged filter or blend door. It's not that often you really need to change the compressor and the bad ac gas sold here has a lot to do with it.

So if you ever have someone tell you to change multiple components (especially when the ac compressor is fine), run and get a second opinion.

Been a while I posted on here, hope these issues have been resolved.

Transmission no go obey engine wey no command well. Lol

Error 1 & 2.
the fuel regulator is located on the high pressure pump fitted on right side of the engine (near battery). First, it needs a physical inspection for signs of wear or damage. Have it unbolted from the engine, 1. Check the camfollower (small cup riding on the camshaft). 2. Check the plunger(the spring and piston).
The fuel regulator itself is the 32mm sensor bolted to the high pressure pump and can be replaced(often it's sold for the price of the whole unit, well since its the brain and only electrical part of the pump) the second error points to electrical issues with it, I'd recommend the designated fuse is checked, Its at position (33) numbered F33 on the engine fusebox located next to the battery, the proper fuse is 30A (green color) ensure the contacts are cleaned. Lastly check that the wiring socket to the fuel regulator is fitted tightly.

Error 3.
This is the fuel pressure sensor fitted on the injector rail (pipe line lol) reporting that our oga High pressure fuel pump (HPFP) aka fuel regulator is not supplying fuel well to the injectors, ((error 4) agrees too. So since the HPFP aka fuel regulator gets fuel from the fuel pump (low pressure fuel) and you've not posted error in regards to low pressures, please leave your fuel pump alone, don't touch it. Rather check the fuel pump control module ( the black relay connected to it and check the fuse controlling it. Make sure its 20A fuse(yellow) at position 34 (F34) located on the fusebox front passenger side.

Error 5
fuel control, air supply, solving the fuel delivery issues will sort this one. Take care of the errors in 1/&2

Error 6,

one or both catalysts (1 @ the exhaust manifold, the other (2)/@ the middle port of the exhaust pipe is getting clogged up or almost damaged. So cleaning or replacing the catalysts depending on the option available to you. I'd suggest replacing them. What damage(s)d it? - Overfilling of oil, your engine takes min of 4ltrs and max 4 1/2/liters only. Avoid this damange when the catalyst has been replaced. Keep an eye on your some panel beaters and mechanics they steal it too.

Sorry for the long thread. Our brother is in Asaba, the availability of certifed volkswagen techs there is a real issue.

Why do you need an ECU(brainbox), what are the issues on your car needing ECM replacement. If you care to share here, you may get valuable second opinion on the cause.

Good evening,
I hope you're having a nice weekend. This post is bringing to your attention on the proliferation of fake Volkswagen transmission ATF in the white bottle. I have had up to 4-5 customer's complaints on hardshifts and gear slips on their gearboxes after it was serviced with this fluid. My investigation is ongoing and I'm compiling the reports. Please ensure you source this fluid from a reputable dealer. I'd recommend a less expensive and good ATF; 1. HOLT 2. Oando Dextron III (3). The Holt ATF can be replaced at 6months interval. The Oando dex III can cover up to a year before change.

This post is only for the standard automatic transmissions. DSG gearboxes are excluded.

Thanks for other recommendations.

Thanks bro.
The car shutdown while driving and refused to start. After several diagnosis, it was discovered that water entered the ecu. Lots of water though.

I wasn't there am when the vehicle was scanned so couldn't say what the error codes were

You are right. T-IV for first generation while WS for 2nd generation reason been that the gearbox is designed by AISIN Corp.(partially owned by Toyota).alot of non Japanese car are equipped with AISIN transmission(peugeot AM6,Volve,Mini cooper by BMW etc).
