Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has said he will not support former President Goodluck Jonathan even if he gets the Presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest the 2023 election.

Speaking to BBC Pidgin at the weekend in Port Harcourt, the governor also said God used him to make the Transport Minister, Rotimi Amaechi, a governor of Rivers.

Wike said even Jonathan knew that he (Wike) would work against him if he joined the APC and clinched the party's ticket to run for the Presidency in 2023.

He said: "I am a PDP member, if former President Goodluck Jonathan picks a ticket to run in my party, I will support him. I can't do anti-party. But if he picks a ticket to run in APC, I won't support him because I can't do anti-party.

"He knows I won't support him in APC even if he is from the south. I don't do that kind of politics. It is party we are talking about and I don't play ethnicity."

Wike mocked Amaechi for calling him his employee saying that the Transport Minister would not have governed the state if God had not used him

Jonathan should maintain his honour as it's now as a respectable African leader than coming back to active politicking as a candidate. APC only want to shortchange d South knowing GEJ has only 4 maximum years to be president. Jonathan should be elder statesman enough to come out openly and denounce anything to do with self candidacy of 2023 both for PDP and APC. His singular phone call to avert 2015 post election violence was great and his denouncing 2023 publicly will be another great action by him. As per Wike support or not am not interested. Wike should focus their women being raped at Eleme by herdsmen or continue in his Sunny Bobo dance groove with Okoroawusa

Jona should just use his influence to nominate a very good candidate..

It will be grossly unthinkable and suicidal of former president Jonathan to over rate himself thinking he can salvage this hellhole the Buhari-led APC government have turned Nigeria into.

Jonathan can only league with the past presidents to commence an immediate national discuss on how to restructure this failed contraption of Lord Lugard so that the regional government can start start the process of development using regional resources @ their own pace.

When they have gain their footing then they decide how the want to run a confederation government @ the centre and the modality it will take as obtainable in the US.The local NASS will be few representatives of the people as their budgetary provisions can carry them so that their current over-bloated demand on scarce resources will become a thing of the past.
