The issue here is Pogba and Bruno would have raised their game by now because of the calibre of the players in the United squad as at then. Rooney or Ronaldo would give Bruno an earful if he misplaced a simple throughball. He wouldn’t make such a mistake again.

The current players can fück around because the manager is a weak fool that rewards failure coupled with the fact that the standards have dropped to the point that Maguire came from Leicester to captain United within a year or so.

Neville is a good crosser and his overlapping or underlapping runs contributed a lot to Beckham’s assists.

His runs distract defenders marking Beckham and concede space which Beckham needs to whip out a powerful cross into the box.

Neville might not be as athletic or pacy as the other options but he’s got loads of football intelligence you will find missing in Wan-Bissaka, Valencia, Brown, O’Shea etc.

Well, Barcelona would still have dominated possession but Fletcher would've been massive for us in midfield, his break up play that season was a huge plus for us...

Scholes was 34 then - a shadow of his former self. Alex Ferguson was silly to have started him in Moscow to be honest against the powerful Chelsea midfield trifecta.

Makelele, Ballack & Lampard taught Fergie a lesson in that second half. United were on the ropes for most of that half with Drogba hitting the post and Chelsea getting all the big chances.

Drogba’s red card gave all the advantage to United.

VDS had a very good defensive unit that covered his bum. There were many games in 08/09 that opponents didn’t take a shot on target at VDS & he ran away with the golden glove.

De Gea was making 14 saves per game at United - PL record.
