Help needed here.
So I planned for my mum to interview for tourist visa(am sponsoring her, am a permanent resident) but someone advised that it’s best for her to interview with my dad as against doing it alone.
Does it improve her chances if they show up as a couple? i.e will have to arrange passport, visa fees and co if I want to include my dad or should she just go ahead and interview

Both are fine in my opinion.
She can either go alone or with your dad, her chances are good with either one

Well, please note that letter of invitation for a non immigrant visa is useless as far US embassy and consulate are concerned. They don't care to check. There is 98% chance that they will not request to see any of your documents. You don't have a job in Naija. That's a red flag. What are you returning back to Naija to do? You are seeing as a potential japa master especially when there's no travel history. Except miracle happens, your profile is not looking good. I am sorry for being blunt.

Hi boss. Good day to you. Please i would like to ask a favour for a few question. Can i mail you?

My friend's fiancé is the USA and my friend is in UK(student visa) she left September last year, the guy said he wants her to apply for f1 visa if am correct. Is it possible for her to apply for it in UK,does she need to come back to Nigeria to apply for it.
Thanks in advance ☺

It's harder for her to convince the VO of home ties if she is applying from another country where she is a foreign student.

Gud evening, pls someone should enlighten me on this, my passport will expire next year march and I can't get earlier appointment date except around next Nov to Jan which ll have made my passport expiring date less than 6 month. Now my question is can I use my current passport to apply for visa appointment now and present the new passport (yet to be obtained) at the time of interview as my current passport will be less than 6 months as at the time of interview? Thanks for your response.

Please I have a question and needs urgent reply , I applied to US visa this morning 22 March 2021 and couldn’t find any interview date available this year again. The only available date is January 25 to 28th. Right now my question is if I can’t get an interview date this year, January won’t be possible due to some reasons, can I wait for more later dates to pop up to like April 2022.... will the visa application expire if I don’t pick any date now ?. Thanks

Good day everyone , thanks for your efforts and clarifications on here.
Please I do have a bit of a hiccup I am processing a family application but opted to book appointment first before submitting the DS-160 form.
Now I have a date and i seem to have forgotten the DS-160 security questions for one of the applicant who is not the principal applicant , I tried updating (new Ds-160 number )from the CGI website but it only allows the principal applicant update. How do i go about this as i have tried everything i can and the old form doesn't seem to respond to my answers. Will it be possible to get it updated at the embassy on the appointment day, if so how do we go about it? if not what are my options at this point ?

Thanks.

I believe one of the requirements is to submit a passport that’s no less than 6 months valid at the time of interview. You can get a new one and update the passport details on your profile before your scheduled date

This depends on how much longer they extend grace to applicants to be able to move dates due to the Covid situation

I haven’t choosen any date yet, I just stopped the application when it got to choosen date because I want later date up to April 22 due to my job. Please my question is if I leave it like that for long without taking any interview date , will the page or visa form expire ?

Good day. I want to ask if someone can fill new form Ds-160 after interview for April was cancelled by the embassy. The plan to attend sister's wedding in June is no longer feasible due to unavailability of interview date. Now a older brother that's a citizen wants to now be the recipient relative early next year. Adjustment is needed since already submitted ds-160 could no longer be edited. Please, how does one go about this?

Hello Gurus,

Please I need your guide on this situation:

I’ve been to then US twice. Got my visa renewed in Oct 2018.

Got notified on an admission fee weeks later so I applied for F1 but was denied.

And the B1 was revoked also(possibly due to dual intent)

I tried twice more for F1 but got refused. I was upset which made my mum file an immigrant petition for me so to allow me visit anytime without the visa hassles(I sincerely have zero intent of immigrating cos I’m gainfully employed and also own an IT startup that’s doing well here, basically wanted to go for additional studies then)

Now, I want t re-apply for a B1 to visit my fiancée and I want to know if the F1 refusals and the petition will count against me? And how can I deal with this if it will?

I just want to visit my fiancée who’s a student. That’s all. Your information will be appreciated via I don’t want to waste my busy time .
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Damian457: 7:15pm On Mar 23, 2021
Why was your F visa denied? The two times you went to the US how long did you spend? Having a pending immigrant petition makes it very difficult to get a non immigrant visa, but it can happen though but not common. You should look for a better reason to visit the US, going to visit a fiancee won’t hold much water because you can easily stay back and get married to her and become a resident. To qualify for a non immigrant visa you have to prove to the Visa officer that you no plans of living in the US.

I spent 4 weeks on each. 2016 and 2017.

F1 was denied based on 214b. I strongly believe it’s on the basis of “dual intent” because I applied for F1 just after I renewed B1 for a Christmas holiday in USA.

Asides my company, I am also employed as systems integration and design manager in a leading telecom firm here in Nigeria. And also have a daughter I live with. Been to the USA twice and never overstayed my visa or even get tempted to.

Are you saying that these may not outweigh the VOs presumption that I’m an intending immigrant?

F1 is a student visa. Why would she apply for a student visa to the US when she is on a student visa in the UK?

If she wants to apply for a visit visa to the US whilst she is a student in the UK she can go ahead, many have done the same and it was granted. Her continued studies are her tie to the UK. She will likely need an introduction letter from the university confirming she is a student.

Did you indicate your mum's status in the US in all your applications, where it mentions relatives or family?

Two F1 refusals is a lot, you can go for it though but be ready to show your ties to Nigeria through your work here. An immigrant petition is not a barrier, if your mum petitioned you are a son and as such you cant switch when you are in the US so you would still need to come back to Nigeria for the processing.
Switching is only 'forgiveable' if the person petitioning is a spouse

The US Southern border is wide open. Get a flight to Ecuador or any other South American country and move Northwards with the migrant caravan, that is how the Cameroonians, Congolese and Angolans are entering Yankee nowadays.

Dual intent is not applicable to non immigrant visa. Sometimes 214b is just a generic reason for denying applicants. It could be that you got admission into a blacklisted school or you weren’t able to demonstrate why you wanted to study the course you were going for etc. having a B1/B2 normally increases your chances of getting an F1 visa,

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by megastu(m): 4:00am On Mar 24, 2021
If your visa was revoked they would have informed you of the reason.

Your mum filing for you now has now confirmed the fear of the VO when he made the initial F1 refusal. A visit would be a tough call. Have you visited other European countries or Canada and Australia. A visit visa would be a hard nut based on your previous attempts at F1 and your current petition for Immigrant Visa.

But this is not true.
The only people getting admittance from the southern border are unaccompanied minors. They get placed in ICE centers until they are matched with a sponsor guardian or the minor's family in the US legally comes for them.

Adults who get to the border to claim asylum are waiting outside the border until they get an immigration judge to hear individual cases.

COVID restrictions on South American countries are still in place. Forget the caravan idea you are selling to people here. They will suffer a lot amd may even fall into the hands of the gangs operating at the border.

Don't encourage people to repeat the Mali - Libya immigration route crises again in South American countries.

This was Biden last week Tuesday
