you forgot to add veron cheesy

Funny of you to relate their failures to their race. Forlan, Rossi, Bellion, Pique and a whole lot of other players didn't measure up under Fergie, are we gonna conclude is because of where they from?

essien in his prime was a machine

he is robust and strong like a rhino, covers alot of ground and can shoot from distances which results to screamers

mikel was more like a michael carrick/busquest type of player and more creative than essien but in other aspect the ghanaian tops him with miles
andrewbaba44:
Mikel was no where near michael essien level

Mikel rated ahead of essien ? mikel wasnt even starting for a top team at 30, maybe if he had continue in the epl like willian and david luis playing for a top team then we can argue this

You always say rubbish written in BLUE with a little good use of the English language

I equally believes Uzoho is better than Okoye. Funny how some people think Okoye should be our number one goalie. The guy to me is poor at crossing or aerial ball.
Okoye is still very inexperienced. He makes good saves sometimes, but he can't be trusted to make series of saves against tougher teams. For instance, when Nigeria is playing a team like Brazil/Argentina, I would trust Uzoho to make the crucial saves needed to keep us in the game (which he has done multiple times). Maduka may also produce some good saves, but all it takes is one poor save or mistake and we're down by a goal, which we saw against Sierra Leone.

Anderson took a fall for Mikel. If Anderson agreed Mikel signed that deal with Manchester United, Mikel would have been in trouble with the forces behind the scene.

Anderson could not also say Ferguson knew about them trying to sneak Mikel behind the forces.

So he accepted he forged Mikel's signature. Went to jail and let Mikel go to Chelsea.

The Ferguson team really loved Mikel and I hope Nigeria raises another gem with the class of Mikel again.
Because forging Mikel's signature just didn't make any sense to me. There wasn't a need for that.

I'm pretty sure Anderson would have been very well compensated for taking the fall.

Carrick wasn't turning heads then. The standout players then were Kanoute, defoe and joe cole. It was when he joined Manchester United that his game now really flourished. I mean look at Lampard he was just there at West Ham but see how he transformed into a world class player at Chelsea.
Micheal Carrick was a very highly rated player at West Ham. That he went on to Man Utd eventually was not a surprise for those who watched him then imo. Heck even back then in championship manager 2003/4 his potential ability was 20/20!!! I remember cos I'm an old boy. grin

Good points sir. Am just curious as to why we haven't had an African star in Man Utd, despite some good mentions with Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and even City. At some point in time, I also used to think South Americans also have it tough in Man Utd for whatever reason, Forlan, Veron even Tevez, just my own thoughts.

I still remember that game. He created a chance for Makinwa who couldn't convert in the dying minutes of the game.

An 18 year old pique have no chance at man united with world class vidic and rio Ferdinand playing at his position so he isn’t a failure

I won't tag him a flop because he barely got a chance in the starting 11

Aside vidic and Ferdinand he had Silvestre and west brown to contend with and both were far experienced than him then

True but they didn't sign him permanently when they could have, instead he went to City where we all know how much better he performed, because his craze disturbed him.

Maduka Okoye is an averagely ok goalie. Small pressure and he would crack open with nothing special about him. Have seen him in the Eredivise with that weak team Sparta Rotterdam. Uzoho is better than him. Have not seen any measure of improvement in this guy. Still same weakness.

Lol, someone please tell him that Eze is in Boothroyd's bench as England take on Slovenia in the ongoing Euro U21 tournament.
he is not even good enough to even start for England U21 Chaii!!. We must forget about him by force. Let him wait for 3lions call up.

Yes, I do.

He makes some quality saves, no doubt. But he isn't the kind of keeper that you can rely on to make quality saves after quality saves in a single game. In some of his conceded goals, his positioning was faulty, and he looked lost. It was almost as if, if you beat his defenders, you had beaten him already.

I'm watching all Afcon matches Live on Hesgoal.com clean and clear.

But when it comes to super Eagles match now (Especially anytime they play in Nigeria) , one will start having eye problem due to bad coverage. That is even there will be any coverage of the match lipsrsealed.

Who do this to us ?

I think his problem is pressure. That's why I said if you've beaten his defenders, you've beaten him already. He is good, but not the kind of keeper that can save a small club in a match against a big club that will keep on knocking. At some point, he just gives in.

To me oo... this is looking like an Ejide/Enyeama scenario in the sense that whenever Enyeama is injured Ejide fills in and mans the post, but when he returns He claims back his number 1 spot... Although they both(uzoho/okoye) are yet to achieve the (Enyeama/Ejide) feat..but plss we can't just displace our number one keeper(An afcon bronze medalist and also world cup experienced lad)....to me I tick uzoho to start against Benin

English players have always been bought for huge amounts what else is new? I insist Carrick pre-Man U days wasn't rated by many. Can you prove Carrick was the reason Tottenham regularly finished 7th?
Why would Ferguson sign him to replace Roy Keane then? Wenger was stated to be a big fan of his since his West Ham days...

During Ronaldinho's peak time, he was by far one of the very best football has ever seen. Iniesta never got close to that level.

So peak time is not the point because Iniesta surpassed him.
