How is he an illiterate? Because he choose a military career abi. Jonathan has 2 PHD and his degrees could no lift 30% of our population out of poverty. Having a degree does does not guarantee good governance bro. We need a competent person who has the people interest. Please note, I'm not defending General Buhari saaron: |

xeju:You are the one deceiving yourself. Every time they want to review pump price and NLC threaten strike, people shout and they return it. Simple logic is that they have subsidized the price to be affordable to Nigerians. |

wonder233:What you should be checking is the landing cost of fuel. Once that is higher than pump price or at a level that after adding other margins, it will be higher than pump price, then subsidy creeps in again. Best is to fully deregulate and allow market forces determine the price. Having refineries will help but will not take the issue away completely as those refineries need to operate with profitability in mind as they won't get crude for free or at a much reduced price |

You are yet to answer the question raised. The govt increased pump price twice and announced it has removed subsidy. The minister of Finance said they have totally removed subsidy and there is no place for it in the budget. The question is, at what point did the govt decide to reintroduce the subsidy? Paying 120b monthly even though it was not reflected in the budget? The bone of contention is not the price but the many lies we are being fed with. Latvin: |

It obvious you are also confused as well... The cost per litre of fuel is roughly 180 ...Can't ur brain tell you that if government doesn't continue to pay that dues .that fuel price wil rise ..ur more confused than the government...when electricity subsidies were removed the same lunatics screening yahoo government were deeply against it.. fuel should never be 180 at all if government should allow the petroleum market to flow depending on the global demand and supply chain of Crude oil...you think fuel will be 180..anymore...some of you folks are very confused and don't know what u want.... Yes subsidies are bad..but will u be happy to buy fuel for 250 naira? fitzmayowa: |
| Re: Outrage As FG Admits Paying Fuel Subsidy After Removal by Tekrify(m): 8:20am On Mar 27, 2021 |
The government are not magicians...a barrel of oil has risen to 70 dollars and above... definitely fuel cost will rise..it better that the government lies and continue to subsidize that product...cuz if they leave the market u should expect fuel to fluctuate which is what Nigerians are not used to...fuel price is never stagnant.. the reason why it so for a while despite the rise and fall of crude is because government is subsidizing the product.... Let them remove that subsidy like they did for power and watch Nigerians scream to die than to bare the pains folks4luv: |

They never claimed there was nothing like subsidies there.... Nigeria has been paying subsidies since the 80s.. timefarm: |

That what some confused lunatics don't want to understand... imagine 120bn a month on subsidies..that 1.3 trillion per year... imagine if they channels that to power or infrastructure... But there is no way government can allow the petroleum market flow or else we will die ..cuz fuel will same as dollar price if the price of Crude oil and other factors start acting funny.. Please take that statement back... Fuel is a product that is rice and fall influence almost everything you will ever buy....are u that daft ..so I think if they removed subsidies and the price jumbs to N300 or so..u still expecting to buy rice , pepper and other commodities at the same price?... Even the price of condom will increase...it like u don't know how fuel and dollar influence the price of commodities in Nigeria...so just take that useless statement back kaludestiny10: |

Tekrify:When they told you to learn comprehension in school you thought your teachers were saying it for saying it sake now go through the post again and apply your comprehension skills... If only you took comprehension very seriously you would have deciphered that if the government says it has completely removed subsidy it has no business paying such huge amount on subsidy again, I'm very sure you were one of those that went to ojota back then to dance the dance of shame against subsidy removal.... Is it not confusion that will make the clueless government say they completely removed subsidy only for them to come back again and say they are wasting billions every month on the same subsidy? Some of you will just buy 10mb and start yarning anyhow here....whew!!! |

folks4luv:The mistake govt is making is to deregulate and keep fixing the price. It leads to the situation you described. Full deregulation means you hands off pricing and let market forces of demand and supply fix it. But I understand why govt won't let go just yet - they want to protect the masses from the shocks of continuous price increases if solely left to the market to determine. Hence their subsidising from time to time until such a time we are fully prepared for the market. |

When I read of all these evil and deceit being pushed by this govt I get very emotional and disappointed especially with men with perceived integrity like Prof. Yemi Osibanjo who is supposed to be a light in this govt. In 2014 they fought Jonathan's govt because of subsidy removal, in 2016 they increased the price of petrol and claimed to have removed subsidy and that the forces of demand and supply will force the pump price of petrol to come down. In 2021 they are still planning to remove subsidy and increase price of petrol again. This deceit is just unbearable. |

The curruption under buhari is huge! From 1960 to 2015 was mere stealing compared to what Mr Integrity has done to this nation. We have no Messiah in any politician or political party because the system that produces these leaders is beyond redemption and the only remedy is for our generation of visionary leaders to dethrone, destroy and demolish the babaric systems that epitomizes the past and the only way to produce this needed change is by force! #EndSars #EndBadGovernment |
