Shut up please, this is purely a clannish war.
And am from Effium, this communal war have lasted for more than two months now.
Bros why did you people first attack Ezza people in the first place?
Starting a war is very easy but ending it is very hard, now that effium market will never be the same again, Ezzas will likely to avenge the death of their people whom you guys killed for nothing.
The issue of NURTW is just a smokescreen to start a senseless war you can win.
Tell ur brothers to stop that rubbish they are doing.
Ezza is big.

Well articulated but i still suspect the Hausa Fulani may have hand in it. Ezza or Effium may not really be the attackers.

Anyways my suggestion: Govt should cal a round table involving the elders and some respectable youths from both sides to discuss the way forward.

In political offices, like Chairman can be Ezza this year, the Deputy Effium. Next Effium then deputy Ezza. It should be ENSHRINED IN THEIR BYE LAWS. I think it will help to restore stability and sense of belonging.

It just my suggestion.

quote author=diplomat058 post=100248855]you don't know the foundation of the Effium crisis. I am yoruba and I served in Effium. That upstairs in ruins was where I used to play bet9ja at a shop. Most of the my students and their families have been displaced, and just last week, I heard the news of the probable death of one of my former colleagues at a school there. I served from 2019-2020.

The crises is about Land. Effium are the supposed indigenes, but the Ezza people have immigrated over the years and outnumbered and dominated the indigenous effiumites. Also, the Effiumites are not Igboid, and this is one of the factors instigating the Ezza who are apparently an Igbo subgroup against them. Effium language is not intelligible with the central Asusu Igbó at all. They are said to have migrated from Cross River in the olden days.

I believe the first step in resolving the crises is to declare a state of emergency in the place. It has gone past inter-ethnic rivalry into a full blown genocidal war. They may explore the option of 2-community solution by demarcating the Land, just as being proposed in Israel between Israel and Palestine. Indeed, I doubt if peaceful coexistence will be possible after this crises. This is the third war they are fighting over land since 1999, so I heard.[/quote]

you are obviously a poor reader. where did I say that Effium are not proud of the Igbó identity? I said Effium language is not intelligible with the central Asusu Igbó and the proponents of the Ezza narratives are using this against them. How is "Fuo" meaning"come" in Effium the same with "Bia" in Igbó? If you are really conversant with the crises, you should know that the NURTW case is just the immediate cause. The remote cause of the problem is LAND INDIGENUITY DISPUTE and has lingered on for years. People like me are not looking for ways to escalate the problems - I am all in for a solution and I even joined the Unified facebook group membered by both Ezza and Effium to enforce peace in the community. Even people that flew to Far Inikiri Benue and Idope are now being targeted. And neighbouring Ngbo are unfriendly.

Stop saying people are yawning dust. You end up being the one vomiting shit. I proposed a declaration is state of emergency and two-community solution. What was your own solution aside insult?

See. I know how you Yorubas behave. The issue has nothing to do with Effium not being native Igboid speaking. You have to accept that first and foremost before we can move on.

The root of the issue has nothing to do with being indigenous. All over Igboland there are pockets of Ezza communities outside their main Ezza North and South LGAs , who are constantly in war with their new neighbours.

The root of the issue is that Ezza were war mercenaries in the past. So when communities have land disputes with neighbours in that past. They usually invited Ezza warriors to help them win the war and thereafter plead with these Ezza men to live with them to scare away retaliation attack from their enemies.
These Ezza men are usually assigned a defined portion of land. But in passage of time, they return home to Ezza land to marry wives and bring relations along to live with them, and they multiply really quick that the original land space initially assigned to them by their hosts are no longer enough to accommodate their modern population.
The modern Ezza population thus outnumber their host in number or equal them, but discover they are surrounded by empty land spaces they are not allowed to farm into or expand into because it was not part of the land initially assigned to them by their hosts.
So they choose to fight to possess the lands around them. And their hosts usually mount resistance and with time the issue escalates.

It happened in Ezzillo and its happening in Effium. It has nothing to do with Effium not being native Igboid speaking like you dubiously claimed. I actually don't know your agenda with that insinuation.

I belong to Effium and Ezza groups and have monitored the situation closely. I also have close Effium and Ezza friends in real life, so I doubt you have better grasp of the current situation in Ezza-Effium fracas escalated by NURTW politics than myself. I mean I am an Igbo nationalist and knowing every single detail of happenings in every part of Igbo land is a hobby to me.

Yes! There are few Ezza people who tried to use Effium Orring Language to score cheap brownie points, but other Igbos have always shut them up and made sure that agenda died in still birth.

As for solution of the problem. I have quite a lot of them and have submitted them in different Ezza and Effium platforms, but I believe there is lack of political will to resolve the crisis on the part of Umahi and Ebonyi state government because of invested personal interests.

Peace.

If over one thousand people have been killed so how many people come remain for Ebonyi?

Unknown gunmen will soon meet their Waterloo from the military.

By the way so Igbos too have NURTW? Why do they always waste their time on Oluomo when thousands are dying in their backyard over the same NURTW?

If hypocrisy is a tribe, it’ll probably be a SE’ner.

NURTW is in every state of Nigeria. When I was in the North we used to market them for our company because of their revenue. they were senior citizens and did not have touts or agberos doing their work the way it is done in lagos. However Lagos/Yoruba/mc oluomo brought thuggery, toutism & cultism just to make it a political tool. His modus operandi has now spread to other states who see it as a revenue tussle. MC oluomo is the cancer who has exported evil to other states of the country. We call him out and other lagos/yoruba politicians that support him cos he's turning young ones to evil. Now every eiye boy wana be rugged and kill as many ayes as possible so that they can be rugged enough to be collecting funds from bike in an area based on NURTW package.
Except you don't live in lagos, if not you would know this

ESN should uproot this cancer root & stem because these SWers are spreading their cancer everywhere.

It concerns you and every Southerner. The common enemies are the Fulani herdsmen. We shouldn't be fighting ourselves again. This is the time for all Southerners to united and force the Fulani terrorists out of Southern Nigeria. After we achieve that, then we can return to our senseless Southern battles because I really don't understand the fights between Yorubas, Igbos, Ijaws, Kalabaris, Itshekiris, Urhobos, Ibiobios, Edos and others in Southern territory, not to talk of killings between neighbours in Southern Nigeria

Peace.
The only problem you have with my submission is the mistrust you have for people of my identity - there is no point pretending. Well, I was not being malicious when I said the Effium language is not Igboid; it indeed is not. And you quoted me out of context. My first paragraph established Land Indigenousness controversy as the center of the dispute. All other disaffection between the two parties are premised on this. The Effium feared Ezza economic and demographic dominance as threats to their continued ownership of the town. The Ezza are firmly in control of the town's economy, and there have been alleged clandestine moves by them to change the indigenous identity of the Land in their favor. The last stroke was the attempt to crown an Ezza King in an Effium Town. Well, this is the Effium perspective. The Ezza, on the other hand, allege envy, violence and hatred from the Effium. They believe they are trying to develop the Land, but the Effium people want to be stuck in their 'poverty and misery.' Both sides have their arguments. The point is, if demarcation and separation will bring about peace, so be it. There have been too much bloodshed already. See, I know the indepth of the crises. I just laugh when I see external parties pointing to the NURTW which is just one of the many peripheral fallouts of the greater issues.

And I still have good friends across board. You are correct in your analysis of Ezza locational dilemma, but I think you are still lacking in the specifics about the Effium case. Good to know you are an ethnic nationalist. I am one also, and I take great interests in racial history, theory and development.
