Hello All,

This week must not pass without exempting people with COPR issued after March 18,2020 but we have got to give our best and offer extra support.

*We have noticed a golden opporunity (golden goal or last minute penalty kick ⚽ ) to be used. But we must work together to optimise the opportunity.*

So, Minister of Immigration, Marco is having a townhall session with Canadian Residents on March 18th 2021 - exactly 1 year from Lockdown - so we want all landed colleagues to register and join the meeting with the ultimate purpose of being a voice for our plight.

Please, we need Canadian contacts (Residents) who are passionate about our plight and would represent us by asking the appropriate questions and make plea (where possible) as it relates to exempting COPR holders after March 18, 2020.

Thank you in anticipation.L

I saw this a little late

Hello
Please I want to find out about spousal work permit.
I’m a student currently in Canada and my program ends in august. My wedding is in August and I intend on applying for a spousal work permit for my husband after the wedding.
Considering the fact that my program would end at that time, will this be a problem in the application?

I am equally interested in this...

Let me sound this to you, be careful when you are planning this. If your program ends in August , when will your study permit expire?
It depends on study permit validity. Your spouse will only get work permit upto the expiration of your study permit. if you are planning to extend your study permit till after August then you can apply for both of you at the same time.

If you switch from study visa to Post graduate work permit- then you MUST be employed in related NOC (A, B ... ) hope you understand before you can qualify to apply for spousal work permit.

This requires good planning- the best option is to marry before your program ends and then apply or ensure u get a job in required NOC immediately after your program.

All the best.

Dont waste your time and money. Just wait for IQAS. Law school will not give you two or more degrees.

This question has been answered on the sister thread. Your B.L+ law school sent to WES would give you equivalent of masters level.
IQAS takes a while and do the above if you can't endure the delay.

Hi.. no it won’t be a problem. The only caveat is that you need a job in Skill level A B or O to qualify to transfer your status (PGWP) to your hubby. As a student, this is not compulsory, they automatically grant your spouse an open work permit for the duration of your study permit.

Hello All,

Please anyone in Kamloops with details on available rental space for a studio apartment in Kamloops should please reach out.
I will be glad to also join BC whatsapp group.

Thank you

I stay in Kamloops, BC. You can send me a PM.

Your best bet will be an Inn for a start. When you land you can then check for an apartment before paying for it.
You can check Panorama Inn but there are a few other Inns as well.
Also Kiji and Facebook marketplace for apartments.
Good luck

Not advisable, if you want the study permit to be granted. The officer has to be convinced that you wouldn't just ditch studies to concentrate on work.
