Please nairalanders , how do I get out? It is killing me
I know a betting shop with 3 cashier that credits atleast 200k atmost every 3 days..
if people we're winning they won't be crediting every 3 days.
people are definitely loosing all the time.
even if they win 300k today, they still loose all the funds and recredit again.

Bros if gambling was the way, those shops for Don wreck..

You should start by seeing your losses as losses instead of trying hard to redeem them

It's not too late to turn back, in fact the best time is now that you have realised you are drowning

By now you should know you are not progressive

Delete everything related to betting... Work on yourself more and engage your mind with books that will facilitate positive thinking

Above all, pray to God for guidance
pray to God for forgiveness? are you kidding me? is betting sin ?

The keyword is "one day". One day could be 10 years' time. People can't rely on one day because there is no unlimited bankroll. Every gambler will be profitable if there is unlimited cash.

I think you should use your salary to take loan for an investment while you left what will only sustain you on necessity every month as salary.
That could help

. Gambling is a Business that you either make profit or loss. What if he has been profiting all along, Will you encourage him to stop? Definitely no. So he should keep playing even if it is 1 million years one day he will win and never loose all his investment now will be more than doubled

Just think of all the money you’ve dashed Alabi and co without getting nothing substantial in return.

If that’s not enough to make you stop then continue.

You are just greedy and you want to win millions in one day. I only do live bet with 100 naira and within two weeks I will convert that 100 naira to one million. Don't be greedy

This is easy. Make a bet with all the money you possess that you can quit the act in four months time. If you lose the bet, you lose all the money you ever owned. If you win, you gain a little more to it. Too much sense won’t kill me and stupid male Nairalanders will attack this comment only to type nonsense.

My brother, it's not easy stopping it because you can realign your objectives why you play it.

When I was addicted to it when I was new to it, my car was having issue, sold it and half of the money went to bet, that was back in school though.

As I started working after graduation, I gave myself a monthly cap which is 10k, if I lose upto that amount, I stop for that period till month end. So i made sure i don't exceed that 10k. I told myself of the responsibility ahead, so with that I don't deviate.

Anyway, check my profile to learn the easy way to win daily like drops of water that makes an ocean.

Re: Addiction To Betting! What Is The Way Out? by survival1(m): 7:58am On Mar 29, 2021
One way to stop is to know that you will never win because there is always manipulation of matches. The betting companies know you can't put a game on your ticket so they will always manipulate some games every week. Example Liverpool vs Burnley, ordinary, you expect Liverpool to win or the goals to be more than one. But you find Burnley scoring one goal in first half and that's all. That's why when I see such results, I just pity gamblers.

Give your life to christ and start attending a bible believing church. Become a worker and attend all fellowships. I bet you there'll be no room for the devil and you'll be the one looking for someone else to save from the despicable addiction.

Stopping is hard at the same time easy. You have to make up your mind never to play it again and curse yourself any day you play it again. I did that 5 years ago and never went back

OP, betting for you is surely gonna be a long process: because unlike hand-workers that mostly collect there money in cash, hence easily lose it to irrelevant and wastaful spending, your money land in your bank account.

You will have to go to the bank/atm and withdraw before you can spend it. So this is what you should try: before you go to the atm, draft what you want to spend the money on, and keep the budget tight. If you have trustworthy wife, give the money to her and make her give you or take from it whenever any of the expenses on the budget need to be done. Do that till you are straight.

If you are using the apps to bet, delete them all.
If you are using OPay to transfer money to the apps, delete it.
If you prefer going to the betting houses, stop going there by remembering that the amount you have spent on betting is twice the amount you have ever gained as profit.
Its not going to be easy to stop but with determination, you can do it.

betting is not so easy to stop but thank God for all the useful advises we have seen here so far....start by limiting what you bet weekly/monthly, to minimize betting pick specific games and tell urself these are the only games am betting on and after dat leave that place....stop checking the next features of games and like has been said delete any site for live scores/prediction app, u can watch football matches but be determined and stop listening to people talking about games they have predicted or playing other people's games etc...stop thinking and seeing ur "big break through" coming via gambling........gradually u will lose interest....i use to be a die hard gambler betj9a/WGB were my favorite platforms, i made some money though but lost more over time and besides its an ungodly enterprise as a Christian i don't think its right b4 God

Like most addictions, cold turkey is the only way out. If you don't know how to gamble, drink, smoke or *womanize responsibly, don't do it.

*Polygamy is legal.

u av nailed it.... if u just don't know how to do it responsibly, then don't do it.... I'm a freak gambler to the core buh I dey use my head, na greediness dey kill some people, always want to chop millions with just 100naira, is that even possible in this buhari regime na b4 we dey hear that kind story not now anymore... last four month I won 15milion with 250K by staking just 4 sure games, I still dey chop the money till now, last Saturday I staked 100K for naija match win or draw and I cash out big time. u just av to listen to ur instinct and don't be too greedy

Use your salary to secure a loan to be paid over five years, use the money to bet this weekend. You will hit it big. Then stop betting but use the your win to start your own betting business. Thank me later. Best of luck.

Re: Addiction To Betting! What Is The Way Out? by Akpuobi1: 8:32am On Mar 29, 2021
Save the lowest amount you use to bet each day per ticket, i.e. if you play 5 ticket per day and stake N100 each, save N500 each day for 1 complete month. Thereafter, calculate your savings, and see how much you are able to save.

The above will help you realize that the idea of "I will hit it big one day if I don't give up" is an illusion.

Before you win N100,000.00, you must have lost x3 of that amount to the betting company. If you invested in a business venture, and before making a profit, you lose x3 your principal, would you continue in such a business?

All na penny wise pound foolish.

PRACTICAL STEPS TO TAKE
1. If you have friends that send you games to play, tell them to stop. 2. Don't visit a betting shop. 3. If you play online delete the account. 4. Do not engage in discussions whose topic centres on betting or how a ticket would have entered if not for one game.

QUIT it ASAP, it is easier for you now to fight it because you have admitted it is a problem to your financial health, hence making amends will be possible.

True, it is hard to fight a bad habit developed for a long period but it is possible. I BELIEVE in YOU and you will overcome it.

BLESS UP!

The way out is to stop betting
Re: Addiction To Betting! What Is The Way Out? by kevoh(m): 8:41am On Mar 29, 2021
You are never going to stop, if you like delete betting apps, stop watching football and other funny suggestions I see on this thread because I presume you started betting due to financial issues not for fun.
The solution is simple actually. You just replace the betting addiction with another addiction that actually pays you money.
