HolyTitus:
You only feel you're addicted to betting when you're not making any proceeds from it.
Nothing but the truth... Humans have rewired themselves in a way that anything that doesn't go as they wish or plan for, automatically becomes addiction...
Another case study, spending on ladies with the sole aim of sleeping with them to tell your peeps how good your manipulative formula works, but when no p***y is gained in the short, or long run... you hear stories like "I'm getting addicted to ladies, please help"....
The issue is would he have asked if he had successfully banged them.....
Advice: Do things for the fun of it and not under societal pressure... in short, never catch feelings with an act that can prove addictive to it user....

Don't mind that Bros. I watch football but I don't bet, it's a matter of self-discipline and decision. Betting has nothing to do with watching football

He shud Make up his mind, curse himself that any day plays it again, something terrible shud happen to him. By doing this, he would remember & leave betting gradually and finally.

It happened to me before, i use to be addicted to virtual betting. And that's what I did to curb it and I've changed.

Note: it is about individual behavioural change mantra

Toooooor.....you have even collected this month's salary. You are in trouble for a whole month. You want to hear the truth? You are not quitting until you get another thing that occupies you. What would work well is something that would give you money. Apart from that...ummm. Addictions are mad and only people in that shoe understands it. Get something doing that would take your time to the extent you would not remember there is a bookie somewhere. May the Lord help you. You can try learning crypto currency, pros are more than the cons... Before you know it you would not remember betting. I hope this works for you. Best of luck.

Someone called me sometime that his son who earns big was into betting, has borrowed a lot despite his big pay, that is should help and pray.

My friends you know the popular saying of Jesus
'I am the WAY...' Its true twice everyday, Jesus is the way out of every mess you are in, in 2008, as I was in the mess of Masturbation for years, I looked to him and for a way out, he came, and 13 years after I'm still free, if you are seeing this and you are in any mess my message for you is that there's a door there's a way OUT of that mess, the WAY is ONLY JESUS. Come to him, surrender to him, love him and he you lead u. Shalom.

Never Give up on your dreams grin grin grin
Everytime you bet , you divert resources vital to your goals and aspirations, don't delete the app , you will still end re-installing it.

Rather, buy a long notebook or get an excel sheet, record every bet you want to place, and the bet amount , after a month check the result, the total money for lost bets will become visible to you. That is a visible reminder on the cost of a gambling habit, if you FEEL this loss is acceptable to you , continue with your life . however , if you feel this cost is too much to bear, "trim the hedges", repeat after me "TRIM THE HEDGES"

Watching football is the root cause of betting addiction. When you are around people that bets and you predict outcome of a current game and more, you will be gingered to make profit with your prediction, especially when one or more people placed a bet from your prediction and it turns out positive.

I have been there. And it hurts seeing someone cash out from your prediction.

QUESTION: DO YOU PLAY VIRTUAL BETTING (i.e AJA N SA'RE AND D LIKES)?
IF YES, THATS THE PROBLEM. YOU ARE GAMBLING. NOT BETTING.

BETTING IS A HABIT.

Q: HOW DO YOU PICK UP A HABIT?
A: GRADUAL ENGAGEMENTS TILL IT BECOMES A HABIT.

Q: HOW DO YOU STOP A BAD HABIT?
A: YOU STOP GRADUALLY...YOU CANNOT STOP ABRUPTLY.

IF YOU DO BET (AS IN NORMAL BETTING AND NOT VIRTUALS), TRY AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TO DISCIPLINE YOURSELF TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF BETS YOU PLAY PER DAY AND ALSO THE AMOUNT YOU STAKE WITH. OVER TIME, YOU KEEP REDUCING IT TILL IT WEARS OFF.

*NEVER CHASE YOUR LOSES.
*BET WITH ONLY THE AMOUNT YOU CAN AFFORD TO GIVE A BEGGAR AND NOT FEEL ENTITLED TO.

P/.S: YOU CANNOT (I REPEAT) CANNOT STOP BETTING ABRUPTLY. IT TAKES GRADUAL PROCESS. IT TAKES TIME

Be deliberate in your quest to quit betting,
I sometimes play bet as if it doesn't exist. Don't be a ONE DAY motivational gambler.

You will not change because you don't want to change. Gambling is rooted out of the demon of GREED

The money you spent on gambling if you have been spending them for the poor beggars out there, I tell you your life will be meaningful because you will reap all you have sown in this life or afterlife

I feel sorry when I see many youth outhere gambling away their time and potentials without them knowing what is behind gambling.

You must know that self-love is more harmful to you than anything else in the world. In proportion to the love and affection you have for gambling, it will cling to you more. If your heart is pure, simple, and well ordered, you will not be a slave to gamble.

There was a time in my life I said enough is enough and I stayed away from women for many years and I overcome many obstacles and my life is more beautiful.

Continue to gamble

You are lossing many good things without you knowing

I feel sorry for you.

Ask urself why do u bet? Are u in control of what u do? Then stop it.

People who bet keep to the safety rules, ie spare money only, even spare money isn’t spare these days, not out of desperation, know when to stop, when u cross that line ure in the red zone and on ur own. Stop!!!

You need to have someone you answer to. If you really want to work this out. Get a girl you trust. Let her handle your finances. Make sure it's someone you can die for o!! Someone you don't want to lose or disappoint. That way you know someone is monitoring you. Then you can start working on the other parts like not hanging out at bet locations, away from bet sites. And pray. It works too. I hope you find peace.
A Nigerian girl will ruin you faster than gambling, jettison gambling and women, fight your addiction and come out victorious.

Baba you will keep losing if you keep being greedy! See betting like every other trade and not a lottery! I don't play more than 2 odds and I am enjoying my life. Play 2.0 with 50k maybe once a week or twice and be making your money. All those 100 odds is a waste of money. Also learn to bet against your bet to minimize loss. Na business be this, no be lottery!

Most gamblers are salary earners. You know the thing is we have a very cruel government. Most have stakes in the business. It's not supposed to be allowed to run in our beloved country. It's drenching a lot of young people's finances and turning them debtors. Sport betting and online gambling should be banned in Nigeria with immediate effect.
Nigeria government is evil. Very evil.

you are right about the ban but is they won't. beside some government officials and functionaries have stake they also hoodwink the government with tax remittance. for the reason government won't ban likewise under the law is presented as lottery and not gambling.
the remittance is what entices the government forgetting this betting guys only remit stipend from what they made from the same people the government is trying and struggling to alleviate the suffering.
give the logic behind betting to those goons addicted to they would rubbish it like they know more. they don't want to believe the scheme drains them than it gives them.

Firstly there is no such thing as addiction, you started it so you can end it by:
1. Don't fund your account from this weekend.
2. Don't visit any betting shop from today onwards, and if the shop is close to your house pretend it does not exist.
3. Don't open any betting app on your phone but rather uninstall the app.
Try this for a month and you will see your interest in betting will vanish.

Let me help you
1)If you are a Christian or a Muslim, pick up a Bible/Quran
2)Swear with it that any day you gamble sport betting again God should take your life in a horrible way preferably car accident or you get burnt in a fire
I swear after this you will stop, that fear will always be there, since we are religious people in Nigeria let it be useful to you at least this time.
But if you fail to stop after swearing just know you will die, maybe not physically but think of it what is your use to yorself or your family if you are working n cant help it simply means that you are useless(dead to them) so brother chose your future carefully so that you wont end up useless to yourself n family

:

I actually happen to think that gambling can be quite a noble activity. But let me first explain myself.

If i place a wager on something that I believe will happen, or has a high chance of happening that is gambling, right? If I believe it will rain tomorrow and my friend says it won't rain and we wager money from our pockets to back up our beliefs then that is gambling. If it rains I gain extra money. If it doesn't rain I lose money.

What about if I believe that there will be a famine next year and I start to store up a lot of rice in my barn. I'm gambling there too. If there is famine true true, then I stand to gain. But if on the contrary there is a bumper harvest and the price of grain drops then I will lose.

So gambling is simply backing up what you believe will happen with your own money. Everybody that gambling believes that there is a good chance that what they are gambling on will happen.

But what is the source of the belief? Is it deluded? Or is it based on correct information and correct knowledge? If I make a wager that it will rain tomorrow because I have done some meteorological research and I know something that others don't know then is that Wrong?

But some people frown on gambling because they say it ruins lives. People gamble away the money that they could use to feed their families. But is it the gambling that is wrong or is it the fact that the gambler is gambling on deluded information. If a guy goes to a casino where things are rigged so that the casino always wins no matter what happens, then the guy is deluded to expect the windfall that he is expecting. But what about the guy who takes a risk with his family's security by investing in a new business that he believes will make him a lot of money.

The business might succeed, all good. But it might fail. Is he therefore different from the gambler? Capitalism, and western civilisation is built on the wager of entrepreneurs through the last 2 centuries or more. Many many many have put money on the wrong wager and brought financial disaster upon themselves and their families, but a few have backed the right horse and made a lot of money as well as provided a service to humanity.

But I said that gambling is Noble. That is extreme, no? No, it is not extreme!! There are too many people who like to open their mouths in this world and make all kinds of nonsense claims that I'm sure they will never make if there was a law requiring them to back up everything that came out of their mouths with money from their pockets.

President Bush would not have opened his mouth to claim that Iraq had WMD if he was required to stake his family fortune on it. If invading Iraq meant that he would lose all his family fortune if they got there and didn't find WMD then I'm sure he would have been more careful about making those claims.

Making Assertions without backup is ignoble, despicable and contemptible. Putting money from your pocket down to back your assertion on the other hand is a more noble gesture. If you think it is going to rain tomorrow and you are disturbing everybody shouting on and on about it, then put your hand in your pocket and put money down to back your claim. If it rains we'll double your money, if it doesn't you'll lose your money. Shikena!!

Believe me, if we all followed this policy then all the prophecies in 9ja will reduce exponentially. It is because people are allowed to open their mouths anyhow that we have so much prophecies.

This is one of the reasons why I can never send any money home to 9ja for people who preach tithes. With all the blessings that they claim come from tithes they shouldn't have to ask me a poor non-tithe payer to be sending money to them. That's having your cake and eating it. You've made a claim. If you claim that the tithe you pay will open for you . . .

the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.

. . . then you must live by that. If you can't live by it then you must die by it. Simples.

In fact if people had to back up their words with their own personal resources then half of the preaching in 9ja will stop with such immediate effect that the silence will be deafening.

So to conclude. I see gambling as nothing more that backing what you believe will happen with money from your own pocket. The more research you do to firm up your conviction that something will happen the less likely you will be to lose your money.
