I tried ignoring this because you're either living in a different country or you're being willfully blind to the situation in the country.

I'll take your first paragraph as nothing but boastful talk to gain internet points. Go against anybody with more means, power and time than you in Nigeria and you'll be the one in jail regardless of who's guilty or innocent.

Regarding your second paragraph, a search of the accused's name on google will show you he was arraigned before a magistrate court for alleged fraud, with said case reported on a national newspaper. I could be wrong but I believe the accused himself comment on this thread about said case. If you care about evidence, which I doubt you do, you'll see said case died a slow death due to the plaintiff being unavailable (lives in another country, potential lost income and more expenses attending a court case in Nigeria) for a prolonged hearing.

I don't know which country you live in, same country where Al Mustapha, Oluomo, many ex-presidents, policemen, lecturers, primary school teachers sexually molesting kids, local iyalojas embezzling owo ajo, cultists, yahoo boys, Naira Marley, Mompha, even everyday people giving bribes, disobeying traffic laws, all of which are walking the streets free, not in jail. I know a lot of people who have committed fraud (I'm not accusing anyone of fraud, just making a point that your point is pointless, pun intended) and walking the street free. The country is a shitshow when it comes to upholding law and order. Besides, most cases of fraud in Nigeria are civil cases rather than criminal cases. Only the poor goes to jail in Nigeria.

I'm not defending or making a case for either side. I'm just surprised at some of the awful defenses I have seen here. If you're going to defend something, at least do so from a logical perspective rather than making moot points that portray you as a fanboy/fangirl.

I'm not replying to any further illogical responses. The thread should go on with its intended business.

What a pity.
It's not possible for him to dupe all these people and none was able to get him punished!

I even asked how he duped them but got no clear answer.

Did he collect money without executing the task or did he collect money for product A, but supplied product B?

How exactly did he dupe or commit the fraud that none of the victims could nab him even though they know his whereabouts?

So all the 'plaintiff' lived abroad? how then were they able to sue him to court according to you if they lived abroad?

I don't want to drag this for too long, I just want to throw the motion that you can't get justice here into the trash it belongs when it's not like the so called 'fraudster' is a politician or a well connected personality.

The examples you cited are nothing but the typical Nigerian talk. Have you heard of filled up prison yards? If truly no one gets punished, who then are in prison? homeless people or all of them are innocent people picked up and charged randomly?

Do yourself a favor, go to the crime section on Nairaland,
you will read stories of those arrested, sentenced and serving various jail terms within this Nigeria you claim not to be working.
The few sets of people that can evade justice in Nigeria are these 2 and he does not belong to any.

You can try duping me though, so that I can use you to set an example of how it's done.

Typical Nigerians line up excuses on why things won't work without even actually trying (The right way) .

In the absence of no precise details of how he duped or defrauded his victims, I will move away from this subject matter.

One thing remains, if anyone defraud you and you have real evidence without him hiding, you can get justice in this Nigeria as long as he's not a heavy weight politician or very influential personality.

Thank you.

My brother, I saw that in the US with white skirting boards by the walls . Very beautiful and cool. It was a pure dark grey normal concrete floor as we had them then in the 80s. I am also seriously considering the option in one of my areas to see how it would appear. The problem is that our artisans are not thinking in that direction. Every thing is about tiles. I am considering balcony, store, kitchen, laundry, closet and even staircase for this modern concrete flooring. Check online and see some magnificent modern concrete flooring. Who can replicate such is the problem here.

Unless you are on ground to supervise. forget it. I just discovered 2 bathrooms in my house is more or less the size of a closet. They were telling me I needed aluminum doors for the bathroom, I was arguing with them that my bathroom doors here is wood and water never reached it. Thanks to Rotech who just educated me that the size is not the standard size I was expecting.

So let this be a warning to others. If every time you travelled home the only bathroom you use is the hotel bathroom. Let your architect know you don't want typical Nigeria bathroom in any of the rooms in the house. Else, you are in for a surprise.

There are a bunch of them Karishma, they've been in existence in Lagos for over 20 years, Nigpipes, Bathija, and Nigerian pipes. Between Lagos and Ogun alone, they have over 10 companies. In Kano over 4, Delta another 3 or so and in the east over 6. Please stop undermining Nigerian manufactures. All you have to do is research and you'll be surprised how many more around the country including tiles and pop powder manufactures.

I hope the poster takes the message to gain more insights into the workings in the country, but knowing that many here read to respond and not understand then message may just be lost.

It is a simple issue. Get a seal strip and cement glue and glue the seal around the top, right and left edges of the door. So when you close the door, the door is airtight. At the bottom, install a trap strip and a weatherboard (metal plate) along the bottom of the door to push the water outwards so it drips further forward. Use a silicone sealant to seal any opening and the edges of the plate. Watch the attached youtube videos to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

Thank you so much diordaves

If you can or you know someone who can do this sealing perfectly well and can help me seal up four doors. I will be very happy.

I am not around to it myself.

Please if you know anyone who is good at this and will do a very solid job, hit me up on WhatsApp.

Obviously, saying sorry is very hard for him. He himself know he has been wrong with everything. But he doesn't want to take the backlash after calling someone fraud. Because you refer him doesn't give you the right to boss on him.

Like most people have said, it's all miscommunication. He really needs to retract his statement about that michlin guy.

Cribking1 paid me on Thursday 11th, Feb. 2021 for the materials to cover his house, I did the roofing carcass, I was the one that also supplied the woods

Immediately I received the payment, I forward the money to the company I'm ordering or buying from I have trusted their materials for 10 years now, good quality shingle, but the exact color and design they have at their Depot in mainland was not up to the quantities we need, so they said they will get the rest from their office on island so I waited for them till evening, I can't be paying extra transport for Installers to come and join me at Ibadan while we can easily go together with the van that will convene the roofing materials.

So, I waited for all them to complete so we can move the next day on Friday, so we left on friday 12th, and I was updating my client Cribking1 of my movement, along Lagos ibadan express way there was terrible traffic to the point that it took us many hours before we even get to ogere, then the gasket of the van got burnt due to over heating, tired my best to get the same van to Ibadan because of cost but not possible so I concluded I need to transload the goods to another vehicle, wish I eventually did. Then, by the time we would get to toll gates with the workers with me, it was already late, but I was updating my client and next a nairalander he called me about the issue wish I was updated him, never knew oga @Cribking1 had set nairaland on fire while I was working for him striving to satisfy him, remember one of my carpenters still on site waiting for me, if I want to defrauded Cribking1, will I leave my carpenter on site to wait for me capital No.

Then as we approach Iwo road, vechiles are turn back due to shasa market yoruba/fulani ethics fight a close proximity to the sites, so we move forward and pass iwo road, on getting to one filling station before barracks junction, I can't remember the name that filling station now, on getting there we saw about 10 military men and about 30vechiles parked around them the drive insist we should stop relax and wait the next morning, so they won't burn his vechiles, materials and people inside because from what we had they are burning houses, vechiles and people too, wish later was true the next morning because I saw it with my own eyes the damages done because vandals.

Around 6.00am.in the morning we left to the site, we got there around 6.30am I called @Cribking1 to inform him about our arrival and I also notify @N3xt that was 13th Feb. 2021.

The following day on Sunday we completed the work I called @Cribking1 to inform him and also Inform @Next that the work is completed, I was under ban here on nairaland for no reason, reason why I can't comment on all what the client was saying but @next upload.the complete work on Sunday 14th, Feb. 2021.

Below is the picture of the materials when we offload it and when we start the work and finish the work

Now, after the completion of the work I called the owner that there some materials that is left on site I go out of my way to make sure we would not been needing any other extra materials so I won't be go and coming from Lagos to Ibadan to complete the work if there is needs of little materials, but he said he needs the remaining materials, wish i said ok.

If am dubious please will I tell him there is remaining materials, I won't because he was not on sites when we are leaving the site.

So since then I didn't hear from him.

So let us be mindful how we destroy people source of living, because there is karma, and before you pass judgement hear from both side the story

I'm not in anyway holding brief for the accused. In fact I wonder why always him too and think something is not quite right.
I won't be quick to take sides or accuse anyone of fraud when I wasn't the one directly involved to know the full details.
I had a personal experience with one of those accusing brabus of fraud during that period.
He contacted me to come and check his site and give quotation. I told him I would send a painter but he insisted I come myself and I ended up being asked advice and various possible solutions to several cracks on the building. Things beyond my scope of job. I gave advice to the best of my ability.
I was told to apply different colour samples and taken round to give quantity required for each room and spaces seperately and even colour combination for the building.
I went there more than 3 different times even though I always elect to send a painter, leaving my work and spending the greater part of the day on the road. The ajah flyover wasn't done then and it's was much further than ajah.
This person had no intention of patronising me but just needed free advice that I could have given him if asked here or on whatsapp.
This person wasn't sensitive to know I work also like he works. I even saw some samples applied when I went there and he gave me some excuse.
I don't expect that I must get every job from people that contact me. I was just annoyed someone felt he was smart and could do as he pleases using deception and not minding the inconvenience to me.
We know there are several characters of people in everyday life but but we all suddenly behave as if all clients are saints and are quick to support them without knowing the full details behind the scene.
Some people may want to play smart and ended up being outsmarted. There must be a reason why some are quick to leave things to God rather than fight to finish on their right.
This is no means absolving brabus or justifying any allegation of fraud but I at least commend his courage in not running away and offering to defend himself even though the number of complaints calls for concern.
I've always spoken out against contractors found wanting and encouraged the aggrieved pursuing it to logical conclusion, making a strong statement and updating the house. Someone did for hslbroker I think and updated this thread with pictures.
I think this should be the route to follow if there is a strong case.

We are planning the casting of a slab that will serve as an outdoor rooftop terrace. this is not a roof slab but a fully exposed slab.

Pls what are the other options of treatment/chemical/admixtures that can be mixed with the concrete during casting to help the slab withstand all the harsh weather conditions it will be exposed to over a long period.

Note: Post-casting and during finishing, proper waterproofing will still be done and the surface tiled. Just thinking of a double/triple pronged mitigation plan.

Any recommendation/suggestion welcomed.

Thanks
